Awesome Course!! 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Jun 11, 2011 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

- Wide Open course
- Great Layout, flows well.
- Good upkeep
- Centered around a quiet campground
- Good mix of holes. (Long and short)
- Very hard to lose a disc on account that most of the course is open.
- Overall just a very fun course to play
-Great views, esp if you play in the evening as the sun is going down.

Cons:

- No Tee Pads- but not really that bad. Flags work great.
-Flags did work great until a good portion of them are gone from this past winter.
-A few dented baskets either from use or people disrespecting the game. But still usable.

Other Thoughts:

First of all, I'm not sure if its appropriate but i feel that moderately wooded is not right. There were I believe 2 maybe 3 holes actually in the wooded area. Most of the course is open. Its not bad that they don't have tee pads but the flags work well. Some holes do get confusing but the owner has maps in the main office and usually gives you one when before you start playing. Owner is a very nice guy and is very helpful if you have any questions. Will definitely be going back.
** UPDATE** This course is under new ownership and just as friendly. Still $2 to play and well worth it. Still had a great time playing this course.

PERFECTION!!...(ish) 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 7, 2010 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Beautifully maintained piece of property also home to a campground. Short tees and long tees, (which add a lot of challenging scenarios). For an extra $3 you can use the pool and hot tub if so desired or spend the $20 and camp. Owners are very kind and more than willing to answer any questions or take you on a ride around the property. Perfect pin placement on all holes and an amazing view from #15's pin. A barefoot golfers dream course.

Cons:

The baskets need work as they will ding up you disc a little, but, they do catch a disc and for the price you cant beat it. Concrete pads would be nice.

Other Thoughts:

This place has more potential than most other places in the area. With room for at least 2 more big 18 hole courses it could be a Disc Golf Sanctuary and one of the best in the world.

B-E-A-utiful! 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 28, 2010 Played the course:once

Pros:

The course is on some of the most scenic property in the state, IMO. Although I didn't have great luck with the homemade baskets for the price and lack of specific disc golf knowledge the builder had he did a tremendous job. The designer of the course did a great job with what he had to work with initially, fun and challenging shots, elevation changes on most holes (long tees were played). Water holes 8 and 18 are gorgeous and signature. Hole 15 is a beast and a great hole, steep uphill turnover tee shot ~200 ft followed by a 250' shot from the top of the shoot to the pin on the top of a plateau. The views from around the course are majestic and the property is very well maintained by the owner.

Cons:

Grass t-pads, signage will be there soon but is not there yet, baskets need work but as I said for the price and previous knowledge they are a great start.

Other Thoughts:

With more time, more traffic, more $, and more effort this course will be nothing short of spectacular. I am very excited for the future of this course and the further development of disc golf on this piece of property. If you make it out here, be as respectful and reverent as possible. This course is a labor of love for the community and should not ever be abused or taken for granted. If you live anywhere in the area make sure you make a trip out there and give the course a go.

Maynard's Acres 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Jul 29, 2010 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

This course is a nice addition compared to the courses in the area. Elevation changes and obstacles on almost every shot make this course fun to play. I imagine it could be very windy at times along the 1500' grass airstrip that holds six basket locations. And the baskets located along the edge of this elevated plateau makes throwing drives that much more entertaining. $2 per day to play this well-maintained property is worth every cent.

Cons:

The baskets are home made so the chains are a little light and beat up the disc a little bit and we are working to resolve the issue. Also when the baskets were built the builder had never played or threw a disc into a basket before so given that he did a great job really. The baskets also have gaps in the side that are a little too big and let the disc slide through. General rule is that if it comes out through the side it still counts until the baskets are fixed.

Other Thoughts:

The baskets need a little work but minus that this course is AWESOME. I was shocked to see that a property like this gets a shot at being a disc golf course! Kind of like when I'm driving down the highway and I see a huge stretch of property and dream of what it would be like to be able to put a disc golf course there. This is that course. Proper signage, fixing the baskets up, and concrete pads would make this course 5 star EASILY.
