Sladden Park is a pretty little neighborhood park with a basketball court, tennis courts, picnic area and plenty of mature Douglas Fir trees. And there are three disc golf baskets set in a triangle shape about 250 feet apart. Amazingly there was actually a guy and his girlfriend playing (or practicing there) when I showed up.

There are no tee pads of any description, no signs and only three baskets.

I agree with Matt B. that Eugene being a very active, sports minded community, for the longest time has had only one 9 hole course. Why hasn't someone stuck a few more baskets here and made this into a simple little pitch and putt. It seems amazing to me. Eugene has recently added a nice 18 course (Alton Baker DGC) but could still use another little addition here. It's a lovely little green space that could accommodate a small 9 hole course of some manner. I've seen many a course squeezed into smaller spaces than this.

Sladden Park has three baskets set amongst some fairly big trees in a small, quiet park space. This is a neighborhood park, a bit bigger than a "pocket park". I am not exactly sure how or why the baskets came to be there, but in a town with only one 9 hole course, it's a good thing. No signs, no tees, just three baskets and your imagination.

Wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if random baskets were just plunked down in unused park space all over the world. What if they became as ubiquitous as a slide or a swingset?

Plenty of people make their way to Sladden to carve lines and practice putting. I had to give it a low rating because the criteria is for disc golf courses, and this really is not a course. Still an okay place to go throw at baskets!
