They tried hard to make this land less barren 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 22, 2021 Played the course:once

Pros:

+9 nice baskets. All in good shape.
+Decent tee signs. They are updated from the photos here. Plenty adequate for this course.
+Very, very nice benches. They are made of marble or something like that. Nice stone benches. I think there was one at every hole.
+Nice concrete pads. 2 on the holes where you might have to throw over water. They also shorten those holes up.
+They made an effort to make things more interesting with a raised pin, shots over drainage ponds (no water right now), and one pin with pine trees around it.
+Decent place for field practice or for a newer player to air out some discs.
+Shouldn't lose a disc here unless the drainage ponds fill up.

Cons:

-The course is very open.
-Could be very windy.
-No elevation unless you throw down into one of the empty drainage ponds.
-Not a lot of shot variety due to similar lengths of holes and lack of obstacles. Most of the holes seemed to be between 250-350. Even if there were a tree or two on the fairway, it was pretty hard to mess up any holes.
-Generally, pretty low fun factor. Not a lot of desire to throw a second round or come back again.

Other Thoughts:

+I thought long and hard between a 1.5 and a 2. They put good money and effort into a poor piece of land. It's like putting lipstick on a pig but at least they used the lipstick.
+This course plays very quick and isn't too far off the interstate if you are a course bagger.

Baggers Only 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 7, 2020 Played the course:once

Pros:

- Concrete Tees
- Signage includes par and distance.
- Restrooms on site
- Benches on most Tees
- Trash cans in park

Cons:

- Very short
- Wind can be an issue
- Repetitive straight line shots
- Multiple Tees were confusing

Other Thoughts:

- Watrous DGC is a typical 5 acre neighborhood lot that was turned into a DG Park. Good use of a vacant piece of land.

- The course is very short, but almost every Tee has one of the nicest benches I've seen in a park, and they all sit on their own concrete pad next to the Tee. It was odd to see so many benches from the road.

- We played with 30mph winds which did add some challenge, but overall the shots are straightforward and not very challenging.

- Good Putt and Approach practice course.

- There are multiple concrete pads around. They could possibly be planning on multiple Tees in the future.

- Good little course for beginners or if you live in the neighborhood, but not something to go out of your way to play. If you're a bagger though, this one is easy to get on your way back from Sterling.

2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 12, 2018 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Very fun, easy, friendly course in a nice small town. This is an excellent course for families and relative newcomers to the game. The course is well laid out, with a natural flow, and presents enough variety to make it interesting. The course is very clean and well maintained.

Cons:

It is only 9 baskets, but by playing the alternate tee pads on 4, 5, and 8 during the second round it works out to a good 18 baskets.

Wish I took pictures 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Mar 18, 2011 Played the course:once

Pros:

This is in a relatively new part of town so the trees are small, but the area is nice.

Cons:

It is very windy and a bit smelly in this small town. The holes are all straight on, and baskets are clumped a little to closely together in some places.

Other Thoughts:

I forgot there were no pictures of this course. It is a nice little course. I wish I could show people that haven't been there. It's a nice break on a road trip if you are driving through, but don't make a big deal of it.

Short, Open, but would be happy if I lived close 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Nov 13, 2010 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

This course was set up for the beginner in mind. It has no holes over 400 feet and most are wide open, for the time being. Each hole features concrete tees, signage with hole information and nice DGA Mach 5s. This course is a great place to work on your short game. Many new trees were planted that in a few years will make this course tougher. The flow is easy to follow and brings you back to the start once you finish #9. We were the only group on the course at the time.

Cons:

This course is short and lacks a variety of shots. You can basically throw a big hyzer on every hole. There are a few shots in which there are several baskets that could be the target you are shooting. House at the end of the fairway on hole 2 could pose safety problems. Lots of stickers to attach themselves to your shoes and clothing. Some fairways seem to close together. Hole 8 appears to be an afterthought as you play hole 7 then hole 8 shoots and ends in the opposite direction of tee 9 which is right near hole 7.

Other Thoughts:

This course was designed for the family and beginner. People wanting a better disc golf experience should head to the beautiful Optimist DGC in Ft. Morgan (about 10 mins away). I did witness what may have been the first ace at this course on Hole 8-11/13/201 at 2:52pm if anyone else can dispute this let me know. This course would be good to play a game of Ript, skins or another fun disc golf game.
