Not worth a trip 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 23, 2010 Played the course:once

Pros:

Zion is a cool park to visit, too bad there isn't a real disc golf course there.

Cons:

Where do I start, how about this: No baskets, no tee pads, no obstacles between the goals (hoops nailed to a post), no significant distance between the goals, only 9 holes....yea, that about does it.

Other Thoughts:

This is simply something else to do if you bought an all-inclusive trip to the Zion Ponderosa Lodge/Ranch. They have a climbing wall, a zip line, ATV rentals etc, so somebody got the bright idea to nail some hula hoops to poles and call an area the size of 1/3 of a football field a disc golf course. Sure, if you've never played disc golf, and all you have is a flippy frisbee you caught when it was thrown from a float at a parade, you might have a good time for 20 minutes playing this "course" with your buddies (if there is sufficient alcohol involved, of course), but probably not. I worry this course will turn more people off of disc golf than it will turn on.

Buy some baskets you cheapskates and put in a real disc golf course. You have plenty of land and beautiful terrain. You could even make it pay to play and real disc golfers WOULD come and WOULD pay. But geez, ask a real disc golfer to help you design it next time.
