Pay Attention to “Hills” in the Name 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 6, 2021 Played the course:once

Pros:

+ Dedicated disc golf facility on county park property that's gotten a lot of care in designing an 18 hole course with multiple baskets and tees

+ Lots of elevation change (some pretty steep); much of the course plays across several open fields on a hillside - but it changes over to woods for most of the back nine

+ A few clever open holes (#2 is a gem, with one basket tucked to the right against a creek), and some tricky wooded holes where you have to compensate for the elevation when throwing through tight lines

+ Multiple basket positions and tees, keeping it interesting for local players and leagues. The shortest layout is OK for beginners who are willing to learn what elevation changes do to their throws

Cons:

- Old Mach 3 baskets are really difficult to spot on the wooded holes (and when they're tucked in the treeline on open holes like on #12)

- The signage is newer than the old DGA shown in photos, but it was surprisingly difficult to interpret, because each sign illustrates all the various tees, alternate baskets, and basket positions on the hole. There are a few spots on the front nine where next hole navigation is made difficult because a handful of tees for various holes are visible. Even when I'd get to the right hole, I wasn't sure which tee I was standing on, or absolutely sure which basket I was throwing to. These are first-time player problems and they're pretty much restricted to the front nine, but they made it hard to get into the flow of play

Other Thoughts:

~ A beautiful sign greeted me as I entered the property, indicating this to be a dedicated disc golf facility. My expectations only grew as I walked through the parking lot, passing cars with various disc golf related stickers, a few picnic tables with players, backpacks and the amount of activity you generally find at a "destination course." But what I found was pretty….just OK. It's a well-used track that takes advantage of elevation, and has a good mix of wooded and open holes

~ I like variety, but I think the local club is trying to do too much with these holes by adding all the optional tees, baskets and basket placements. The property and the terrain don't provide much opportunity for variety, with alternate versions of the holes being just a little bit longer, or the basket being just a little bit different angle

~ It's great to find any disc golf-only location, and credit to the County and the local club for creating the place. Regulars have built in ways to keep it interesting, but there's only so much the property can really give you. There are four layouts listed on DGCR (and a dozen variations on uDisc), all for a course that maxes out at around 5300'.

~ I'm sure this course is a lot of fun to play regularly. The first-timer would do well to hook up with a local for guidance, and to be shown the subtleties built into the various layouts

Fun and Frills at Scarboro Hills 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 10, 2021 Played the course:once

Pros:

+ This place is dedicated to disc golfing only. There is virtually zero chance of dog walkers, joggers, bicyclists and birdwatchers getting in the way... probably. I've only been here once.
+ A nice welcome area with decent parking, shaded practice basket, picnic benches, trash cans, plastic outhouse and a lost disc box. (Was there a lost disc box? I can't remember now.)
+ A "current basket" system is in use. Colored clamps cover the corresponding pin position as indicated on the sign post.
+ Tee pads are well-upkept rubber anchored into wood frames, but....

Cons:

- ...Some of those tees are slanted. Hole14's springs to mind.
- Some baskets are visibly damaged like hole8's. Also, most are dull and hard to see for being in a mostly wooded environment.
- There are no navigation signs after each hole. Yes, the course is largely straightforward, but for the parts that aren't, a player can get turned around and lost. Between 7&8 and 14&15 are the biggest culprits of this.

Other Thoughts:

This review is based on my experience with the short layout.

I liked the visual appeal of hole17 because of how twisty, wooded and shadowy it is. I enjoyed playing hole14 the most because of its crazy downhill tunnel. Hole10 felt the most boring to my mind because of how flat and wide open it is.

But boring holes at Scarboro could easily be the most exciting at many other courses. There is a dedicated following behind Scarboro Hills, and it is not at all hard to see why. This course has expansive grassland, a quiet forest, trickling waterways and impressive hills. This place feels hand-selected and tailor made for disc golf.

That is seen in many of the holes all around the course. An easy example is hole3 with its lovely downhill slope and narrow tunnel at the same time. Also, hole7 is a nice upslope that starts sunny and open before just entering into the forest edge. Because there are no playgrounds or walking paths to worry about, the course can sprawl wherever and however it likes. And the player can throw with reckless abandon with no fear of hitting anyone or anything. In brief, it feels freeing to play here because there are all kinds of fairways on offer.

I should point out that it can be a bit confusing to find your way, though. Instinct and common sense prevail most times, but there are certain points where you have three paths in front of you and no indication of which is the right way. For example, after hole7 I accidentally wound up at hole16 because that route felt more natural to me. So, some nav signs would be nice to see. Also, the baskets are tough to spot. Much of the course plays in a forest with overlapping shadows, which subdues the metallic grey targets. Adding flags or swapping them out with brighter colored ones would help this.

But the disc golfing itself is a joy. It's a rare treat to encounter a course that accommodates players of all styles. Open and wooded fairways are on equal display here. They aren't terribly long, either. Even from the longest layout, distances rarely exceed 350 feet. So new players can have a fun time here, too, as long as they don't mind hitting trees along the way.

Bottom line: Scarboro Hills is a shotgun blast of fairways that deserve your attention. It is a secluded piece of property that is well taken care of. Some infrastructure and navigation issues subtract from the rating that could have been, but I think it's every disc golfer's desire to play at a grab bag of a course like this. Strongly recommended.

Local Gem of a Course! 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Mar 8, 2021 Played the course:once

Pros:

- Plentiful Parking
- Trash cans and porta-potty
- Disc Golf only park
- Well maintained
- Lost discs happen but this is not a course with the kind of rough that gobbles up your plastic.
- Course is surprisingly weather resistant. Most holes shed rain water pretty well and many fairways are protected from wind gusts.
- Permanent Tee Pads with ample run up and follow through space
- Signage at most tee pads are accurate enough. Lacks 'next tee' signs but paths are pretty clear.
- Multiple tee and pin positions
- Variety of shots required, forehand/backhand, Elevation changes, and open/wooded mix
- Great local community of players

Cons:

- Driveway can be muddy and full of pot holes in the spring
- There are very few +350 Ft. holes. All holes play as par 3 so the course is a bit limited for those looking to bomb long shots.
- Hole 14 is an interesting shot down a steep wooded hill. With all the frequent tree hits and roll-aways the separation between birdie and double bogey seems arbitrary at times.
- Tee pads are rubber and can become more slick than the textured concrete pads at other courses.

Other Thoughts:

This course is a local gem. Hole 2 is a particular favorite of mine as the short basket is located on a sandy putting green with a creek immediately behind it. Spiking a drive into the sand below the basket or sailing a put into the OB creek can go a long way in determining what kind of round you are about to have. My overall rating may be slightly inflated because this is a home course of mine but it is deserving none the less. I think what speaks the most for old 'Scarbs' is the amazing crew of local players that can be found at the course every single day. There is a reason local players love this course so much and take care of it so well. Come find out why for yourself!

Disc Golf Only! 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 13, 2018 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

- Course is a secluded, disc golf only park
- Well maintained by county, OB is also fairly well marked
- Two sets of rubber tee pads that typically have an excellent amount of space
- Most holes have two baskets
- Both wooded holes requiring precision and open holes where you get to air it out. There are some great holes on this course (2, 10 long, 12, 13) that navigate woods or are nice transition holes, encompassing woods and field.
- Accessible to most skill levels. Total beginners can have fun and high level advanced players can play longs and have a slight challenge
- A few nice benches throughout that can give necessary respite, this course can be quite a hike if you aren't prepared
- Nice warm up basket with picnic tables, trash cans and port-a-pot at entrance/exit

Cons:

- The largest con to me is the course design. It certainly isn't a bad design, but it is not a course that requires every shot in the bag. There are not many opportunities for risk/reward shots, it's usually either bombing a driver or throwing a putter. There are definitely a couple of throw away holes (get it?), and the putter shot straight through the woods is used a few too many times for my liking.
- For some reason, not all of the holes that have two baskets really need two baskets, and there are holes that would drastically change with two baskets but instead rotate one basket between positions. Not a huge con, but it drives me crazy.
- It seems to have gotten better, but there are times the trash becomes obnoxious at this course. There is a contingency of players who don't particularly care about the course and think their bottles are best left around the baskets for someone else to clean.
- Signage isn't always present and I can see navigation being confusing in a few places. I don't believe there are next hole signs, but it shouldn't deter a traveling player.

Other Thoughts:

This is a hard course for me to review because I have been playing it for years and years through multiple incarnations. The improvements they've made have almost always been for the better, but overall I don't think I can call this course 'Excellent'. Certainly 'Very Good' maybe even 'Very Good Plus'

It's absolutely worth playing if you're traveling through the area and the friends from PA I've played the course with certainly enjoy it, but it's not a course they're actively suggesting.

Not a pro or a con, but there are some awkwardly placed benches on the course. Just an observation I guess.

Fun & challenging, but could be better 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 16, 2017 Played the course:once

Pros:

-Multiple well-maintained tee boxes at most holes, paired with multiple baskets can make for a different round each time.
-Good course layout, with minimal repetition and overlap.
-Plenty of parking.
-Park is dedicated to disc golf.
-Beautiful setting, well maintained grounds, and plenty of wildlife to observe.
-Course pars are fair, plenty of challenges.

Cons:

-No overall course map/info posted.
-Tee box signs are permanent, but the marked baskets change, so they don't reflect the current course layout.
-Baskets are difficult to see, especially in the wooded areas (only one was bright orange)
-Some of the alternate baskets were not installed.

Other Thoughts:

Today was my first round at Scarborro Hills, so I found myself walking ahead at multiple holes to find the baskets and get an idea of where I was throwing. I will definitely return, as it is only 25 minutes from my home.

Great course 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 19, 2016 Played the course:once

Pros:

Scenic park solely used for disc golf....
Great blend of open and wooded holes utilizing a lot of elevation.
Signage was good- one at each tee pad. There were multiple tee pads at all but a handful of holes.
Tee boxes were mats but on a solid foundation usually 4 x 4's (Note: I am a concrete tee pad snob and these boxes were fine to throw from!!)
Loved the "eastern" feel to the terrain- lot of rock and old farm wall structures not found out my way in the Midwest.
Couple of memorable holes for me:
#4 90 degree right past a fence after throwing up hill about 200 ft.
#5 blind throw to the basket across a field then down a hill
#13 basket protected by being down in a rock configuration - words can't describe... and
#14 top of the world shot through the woods!!
Numerous baskets threw through open areas to baskets tucked in the woods

Cons:

To echo some others.... some of the baskets were hard to spot.... a few had flags on top, others you had to search
Also, a couple of overlap spots, 4-5 comes to mind...

Other Thoughts:

This was course number 125 in state number 20 (gold medallion now on my profile page!!). The course was definitely suited to be a milestone course... Played with my teenaged sons and we kept commenting on the fun factor of the course.
Not a soul there when we started at 10 AM, 6 cars there when we finished up a couple hours later. And this is in the middle of nowhere!!
Concrete pads get the rating up to a 4 for me.... as it is it was still very good!!

Nice Setting for DG 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:May 28, 2016 Played the course:once

Pros:

This is a very nice park that is completely dedicated to disc golf. There is a decent variety of holes to this course. There was a place for possible scorecards when you first pull up, but the box was empty. The tee signs do a good job of telling you where to throw, as well as, easily tell you which basket position it is currently in. This course was well kept and that was only reinforced at the end of our round as we saw about 4 guys out with chainsaws working to make it look nice. This course weaves in and out of the woods and does a nice job of using the natural landscape of hills and fields. There are clear paths through the woods that you want to try and hit, and the brush was not bad that you would be dying if you went in it like some other courses I have played. This is not an overly difficult but it has enough to challenge the better players. This is not the type of course where I would get stressed about any single hole.
The park was well maintained with a port a pottie at the start. There were trash cans and bags and certain holes. There were multiple tee pads at each hole, but only one of the tee pads had the actual sign telling you where to go.

Cons:

-This would be my biggest knock...If I am playing a wooded course, and it is my first time, and the baskets don't have the bright yellow rim...it would be nice to have flags at the top. A few of the wooded holes had a red flag attached and it made it so nice to be able to see from the box where I was to throw towards. It gets a little old having to go scout out in advance where the hole is simply because there is no signaling marker.
-Some tee pads were rubber mats while some were more a cinder make-up.
-There would def. be some opportunities to knock someone out with a disc the way a few of the holes are laid out. I think it was number 4 where it is a short dogleg to the right over a hill and down around the bend to the basket...however...after you were done, you had to walk right back up that same hill to the next tee box....if people are on the tee behind you, they may not know you are done and they will definitely be throwing in your direction.

Other Thoughts:

Overall, this is definitely worth a second trip at some point. It is a very pretty park where you can tell people really care about their disc golf course. There was enough variety and challenge that I would want to come back and try and improve upon my score. Thanks to the people that care for this course.

Holy Smokes! 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Jul 8, 2015 Played the course:once

Pros:

On my way to PA from VA, I stopped here to play a round to avoid sitting in any more traffic on 95. This course was absolutely amazing. There was excellent diversity and challenge scattered throughout the entire course. Great elevation and an excellent workout. Especially on the back 9.

For someone who had never played here before it was pretty easy to navigate the course and markings were consistent and helpful.

This course has a great deal of diversity and elevation. There are open holes and there are wooded holes. Some are uphill and some are down.

-The tee-boxes are in GREAT condition and were extremely easy to locate.

- There are multiple tee-boxes for additional difficulty if desired and even several holes that have permanent secondary baskets.

-The baskets are in great condition and have crisp yellow paint to guide you through the course.

I really liked the diversity in length and shape of this course. Some were really straight narrow and wooded, while others were of the dog-leg variety.

Cons:

There really are no cons to this course. It appears to be specifically dedicated to DG and will certainly be stopping here again on my travels.

Some of the hole are a bit blind and you cannot see the pin position from the tee-box, but that is what maps are for.

Other Thoughts:

Bring some shoes you would do some serious hiking in and some water. After 15 and 16, you will be certainly glad you did.

Disc Golf and Mountain Hiking 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 19, 2014 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Dedicated park space, which is rare around these parts. Well maintained with thought put into hole locations and multiple pin placements per hole. While kind of in the middle of nowhere, there is sufficient parking.

This course encourages (and sometimes requires) different shots to play well. Backhand, forehand/flick, thumber/tomahawk, roller, rescue shots, and putts with elevation changes are ALL part of your round here. It will challenge you but you will enjoy it.

OB exists here and there, but it's just there to keep play out of certain areas and isn't set up to punish players.

Cons:

If you are a beginner or out of shape this course will brutalize you. Most of the woods holes have plenty of trees to contend with and plenty of stickers/thorns to shred your legs when you go looking for wayward discs. The back nine involves a few treks up and down the mountain which can be challenging to walk.

Many of the baskets are missing flags and/or have shredded flags, so the baskets can be challenging to find for a first-timer since they are the older Mach 3 type with no bright spots to catch your eye. Could do with some new flags or bright pink tape around the top of the baskets to make them stick out in the woods.

Other Thoughts:

Popular course on the weekends, so if you are the social type this is a decent chance to meet up with other disc golfers. Please pick up after yourself; I saw far too many discarded beer cans for a course like this.

If there are mandos here I couldn't find them. A couple of holes look like they might have them, but nothing sticks out to indicate that.

Pros:

Excellent course. Fun layout, with something a little different on each hole.

Very unique layout with multiple tee pads and pin placements. As a visitor, I was slightly concerned about navigation but the system they have there is great. I saved a PDF of the course map to my phone, which proved to be beneficial, so I would recommend that to any first time player.

This course is aesthetically pleasing and is in a beautiful part of the US.

There are some memorable holes (especially 12, which you can absolutely bomb).

If you are experienced enough, I recommend playing from the blue tees. You will be challenged with some tough shots, but it is worth putting yourself to the test. My first time out there from blues, I shot -1, but it was hard fought round.

There are some mean downhill holes followed directly by a mean uphill drive. So be prepared for that.

Cons:

There are not too many things I disliked about this course. Some of the separate blue tee pads were hard to find (especially #5), but other than that it was great.

The grass was a little thick in the fairways, but with all the rain lately it is understandable.

Great navigation 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 2, 2014 Played the course:once

Pros:

After playing a few courses out East I was super happy to have an easy day of navigation on this course. With multiple pin options I was worried it would be challenging to see where the basket was but the course took care of that EXTREMELY well. The "washer" system is the perfect way to indicate the current pin location. Navigation is extremely important to me, as is knowing where to throw.

Having multiple pin locations is a huge pro for me. As stated, the course has a marker system on the sign to indicate which position the pin is. This is truly how any course should be that uses alternate pins. The signs were also phenomenal. I always knew where to throw and how far to throw. I know that sounds silly but I have played some courses that don't even have signs so I guess you can't take it lightly. There were also multiple tees as well, which really allows a lot of different options on this course.

The course has a very serene feeling to it. The park appeared to be dedicated solely to disc golf, which is a huge plus.

Memorable holes included holes 12, 14 and 15. Hole 12 was a downhill 450 foot hole that was just screaming at you to throw all of the drivers in your bag. What a neat hole to throw! Hole 14 was a tight hole but it was so much downhill that it was truly a fun hole to throw. On the flip side, what goes down must come back up so 15 played sharply uphill. It was a tough walk back up that hill but a fun hole to play.

Cons:

Besides the holes mentioned above nothing truly stood out about the course that said this course is among the best of the best. The course wasn't very long and didn't have too many memorable holes. As stated above, this was a solid but unspectacular course. Almost all of the holes were par 3's and that made the course feel a little repetitive in some ways.

While the teepads were nice and big they were not concrete and since the course seemed to be in a lower area (holes 1 and 2 were very very wet) I would imagine the tee pads can get slick.

Holes 4 and 5 were very forgettable holes but I guess every course has filler holes. While I did like throwing from the open into a protected basket in the woods, it did seem that after a few times it got repetitive. This is not a huge con but maybe some more variety would have been nice.

Other Thoughts:

This was a fun, par 3 course in a nice setting. Its a nice walk in the park and I believe a rating of 3.5 is very fair. This course was super easy to play with no navigation issues and hole 12 was really fun to throw.

Scarboro is well kept and the land is dedicated for disc golf play. The Tee pads are nice and the baskets change often. This course Plays through a combination of fields and woods, and will require all shot types to master. Quite a few memoriable holes: #12 blue tee is on top of a hill and basket is about 500ft crossing a wide open field with a tight left line OB. Very fun H-Bomb for the RHBH throwers. Hole 15 is a monster going uphill shot maybe at a 10% grade, I normally play it safe and tee off with a roc or teebird and chip my way up. a few ace runs if baskets are in short position holes #3,#4 #8 come to mind.

Cons:

a few holes can be slushy a few days after a good rain. #2's tee pads come into mind as being swampy. Too far to play regularly.

Pros:

wow, where to start?
super well manicured grass fairways. excellent mix of long distance and short (sometimes long) technical shots through the woods.
a brief flirting with the babbling brook.
wonderful elevation change!
also the rough, when you did end up off the fairway was "rough" but not debilitating or prison like.
almost ALL the pins were in the LONG position when i played, which makes a tremendous difference. i can see how the SHORT positions would be rather easy. and the middle positions would benefit the throwers that max out at 350 feet.
great tee pads, 2 on almost every hole!!
accurate signage. first time playing and no issues navigating course :)

Cons:

there is a mysterious muddy patch by the practice basket on the way to hole one. that said, i played the entire course without a towel and didnt have any real problems.
there were probably a couple too many big wide open holes (though with long pins, the basket was still nestled 30+ feet in the trees).
i guess this place being in the middle of nowhere is hardly a pro.....

Other Thoughts:

i have played courses all over the country in past 15 years and was extremely impressed with this disc golf only facility that is well maintained and FREE.
granted, the top pro players would almost certainly tear this place up with their casual 450 foot drives.

-Nice variety of shots, especially when the pins are all in their longest positions and nice mix of wooded and open holes.
-Really well maintained park

Cons:

-There are a couple of holes i struggle to enjoy, In particular, 14 & 15 which feel very much like a chore throwing straight down and then throwing back up. I also don't like that stopping your disc near the pin on 14 is largely a matter of luck.

Other Thoughts:

I went back an forth on how to rate this course. I've played it a lot and how much i enjoy it depends largely on the layout. When all the pins are in the long position as they have been of late, I enjoy this course a great deal and would give it a solid 4 or maybe even a 4.5. when all the positions are short, the front 9 is very pitch and putt i enjoy it much less and find it very average. Overall, I think the 3.5 is accurate and reflects that this is a solid course and one i am happy to have in my regular rotation.

Pros:

The Harford County Parks and Rec Department is really showing some love for disc golf with this course. They have dedicated this land exclusively for disc golf and keep it very clean and well maintained. This level of dedication is rare from parks departments.

The course itself uses the terrain well, featuring a nice mix of wooded holes with tough but fair fairways, and more open holes that emphasize placement.

With dual tees on each hole, the course is playable by a large range of skill levels. The shorter tees shorten most holes and provide easier lines. The longer tees add distance and tougher lines that can really change more experienced players.

Minimal OB is used primarily to address potential safety issues and to restrict play to park property rather than neighboring yards.

Cons:

Some of the longer open holes can get repetitive. They mostly feature a long tee shot over a field to a protected pin beyond the tree line. This is a good test of placement, but is overused a bit on this course.

4 and 5 are very boring holes. The tee shot on each is basically a short upshot out in the open. Hole 4 in particular really feels like a filler hole.

Other Thoughts:

It's really great to see a parks department with the dedication to create and maintain a park exclusively for disc golf. The local players seem to take a great deal of pride in what they have here, hopefully helping to foster a good relationship between the parks department and the disc golf community.

While I don't consider this an elite course (it does lack the wow-factor). It is still a very fun place to play. I always enjoy going out to Scarboro when I am in the area.

Baskets are in good condition and tee pads were stable and not slippery despite some snow and general wetness left around.

Cons:

I find it a little hard to find many cons. Some of the wooded fairways tend to be very narrow, and some lines are hard to pick out from the tee, but I personally enjoy these aspects especially in contrast to the open holes.

Other Thoughts:

This was my first time playing this course, and I'm usually hesitant to write a review after only one or two run throughs. However, I was so impressed with the course I was compelled to express it. Scarboro was a bit of a hike for me as I am located right outside of Philadelphia, but it was definitely worth my time and gas money. I have the privilege to play Tyler and Iron Hill often and tend to compare most courses to these standards and I would definitely place Scarboro right alongside both. The fun factor was definitely there throughout and the course never felt like it was a chore to navigate or play. There were a good variety of hole lengths and everything flowed nicely. All in all Scarboro was a great course to play and an even better way to start of a new year. Thanks to locals for the warm welcome as well.

Many More Pros Than Cons 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 26, 2012 Played the course:once

Pros:

18 hole course in a secluded, disc-golf-only park containing a good balance of wooded and more open holes. A porta pottie lies near the practice basket as you enter the course and a message board sits in the ground by hole #1. Every hole has a red (short) and blue (long) tee as well as two possible basket placements. Outstanding over-sized rubber tee pads surrounded by railroad ties/posts and good signage at each hole depicting basket placement, disc flight path and distance. Well-worn pathways make walking easier and huge green arrows between holes point to the next tee box. The field holes are mowed and nicely groomed. Elevation is ever-present and adds to the challenge of playing here. Decent hole variation, with hole 6 (steep drop-off behind the basket), hole 12 (long open downhill to a basket in the woods) and hole 14 (long, wooded downhill shot) particularly interesting.

Cons:

More benches would be a help, as would bag poles at each tee box. Course doesn't feature many long distance holes that would appeal to the big guns. Some of the holes play relatively close together, making errant tee shots a possible concern. Rocky terrain prevents run-ups. Not a fan of the manufactured out-of-bounds- area around the basket on hole 1.

Other Thoughts:

With rolling hills and much elevation throughout the course, The Scarboro Hills DG Course is aptly named. Much work has been done here- reconfiguration of several holes, improved tee boxes, grooming, etc. to improve the quality of play by the loyal local club. Scarboro has all the essentials of a good disc golfing experience plus enough variety to challenge all ability levels. Although there are only a couple of holes over 450 feet, and some pro/advanced players have bellyached over this, it didn't detract from my personal playing experience.

Slightly Above-Average Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Mar 10, 2012 Played the course:once

Pros:

Overall, this course is a solid course. There is some elevation change, and a decent mix of open and wooded holes. The signage at the course helps to direct players with no course experience. The tee boxes at this point are all framed, with some gravel and fly pads to top them off. There are several easy ace runs, and a few uphill holes that are pretty tricky.

Cons:

The course is not overly challenging. This is a true par-3 course for a high rated Am or Pro player, as the long holes are wide open and easy 3 opportunities. There are also a few holes whose tees are very close to one another, which would certainly cause issues with heavy traffic or tournament play.

Other Thoughts:

I think the course has tremendous potential to be a championship-caliber course with some extensions to the holes, and some redesign. There is plentiful elevation change, yet only a few holes maximize the use of it. The course was designed with minimal risk-reward shots. Overall, I would rate this slightly lower than Druid Hill in Baltimore, but a good option for Harford Co residents. For being a "disc golf only park," I dealt with plenty of non-golfers who were meandering around the property.
