I stumbled on this course last summer by seeing the baskets driving by on the highway. Surprised by how much I enjoyed the round. My LHBH seemed to fit a lot of the holes really well, but still had to break out the flick for two or three tee-shots. A couple of straight bomber holes, and a bunch of tighter, wooded holes where accuracy is a must. Not another soul in the park (other than the girl in the parking booth).

During the summer months, there's an entry fee to the park (that ends on Labour day). On my second trip, I printed the course map (from DGCR), as the signage leaves a lot to be desired. Not a lot of elevation change, but that's nitpicking..

A really enjoyable course for one I originally just found by accident. A lot of creative shots needed to score well on the tight wooded holes. Heads up on the 2 or 3 holes that play RIGHT along the parkway. Worth the $6 entry fee in the summer months

I really enjoy this course, it isn't easy to score, but challenges you on many holes. If you can only throw a backhand hyzer- you will not play well here!
Most of the holes are very unique- and allows you to throw a number of different shots, that you normally wouldn't throw.
Can't wait to play this a lot this year

- Nice baskets and tees.
- Decent mix of wide open holes and holes that require shaping around trees.
- Liked the first 2 holes a lot.
- Well maintained and free of litter.

- Entry fee.
- Tee signs are a mess and don't match with holes (there must have been a redesign).
- Biggest problem with the course is that after the first few holes, the majority of holes run back and forth along a road with a decent amount of traffic.
- Most baskets just aren't in interesting places.

- I was underwhelmed by the layout of the course, though it certainly does test your game.
- Lakeside Beach State Park 30 miles to the East has two courses which I'd choose over this course (even with the extra driving time).

Once finished it will easily be at least a 4.5 rated course.

-Good clear map and scorecard from the front gate
-Fairways very carefully mowed. It could have been a ball golf course the grass was so short and consistent
-Easy to follow layout with map and scorecard
-Three tees for every hole
-Quality, good-catching baskets

-Each tee had one sign and three sets of pavers to show different tees. It was sometimes difficult to find each tee.
-Some fairways become repetative

Given the terrain available, the designer did a nice job laying this course out. There are many fairways that are long and straight with very low hanging trees, so this is a great place to practice rollers. With the carefully mowed grass, rollers here are often the preferred way to move up the fairway.

The course plays fairly, but I don't think you're going to see much variety in scores if you played it a bunch. From the blue tees, most of the baskets were well out of my reach for a birdie, but not too much trouble to get par, even if my drive wasn't spot on. Depending on how you perceive what par should be, this could either be a good thing or a bad thing.

I was visiting the area for the weekend and this was the closest course to where I was camping (Four Mile Creek). Entrance to the park was free because I was camping, I imagine there's a fee to get in if you're not. I'm glad I came here for a quick morning round.

An immaculately maintained course. By that I mean they fairways are mowed relentlessly. Almost never any trash to be seen.

The course was slightly redesigned in the fall of 2010. But the few changes have made a huge impact on the quality of play. The redesign gave us some big arm air it out holes; made the best use of the existing elevation changes; and left the best of what already existed. And can you say tunnels shot? There's a ton of them.

#1 is new. A fairly short shot thru a donut hole and downhill. The basket is protected by a couple old growth trees and don't go long because a lagoon off of Lake Ontario is less than 2 paces beyond the pin.
#2, is also new. Another fairly short hole, but its a HARD left dogleg thru a wide tunnel of old growth. The left turn goes uphill to a narrowing tunnel. Left of the old stone wall is OB.
#3, old #2 redesigned. Lengthened and the basket moved to the left. A fairly open hole.
#4, old #3, redesigned. Lengthened this wide open and straight shot. The winds off the Lake come into play on this one. It and the next few run along SR 18 which can be distracting.
#5, old #4, redesigned. Lengthened and again fairly wide open.
#6 old #5, redesigned. Red tees lengthened otherwise unchanged. First half of the fairway is wide open going to a basket lightly guarded by older trees
#7, old #6, redesigned. Red tees lengthened. Another Donut hole, or up an over some dense shrubs and medium large trees. Its mando to stay left of the large tree closest to SR18.
#8, old #7 unchanged. A small upslope halfway up the fairway and then downhill to the basket. This is a tight tunnel of pines. Beyond the little creek is OB.
#9 new. Cross the grassy culvert to this one. A tunnel of sorts with a low ceiling dense shrubs and trees to the right. The meandering creek, and dense vegetation to the left.
#10 new. Another tunnel with a low ceiling heading downhill. The first part of the fairway is guarded to left by a wooded area and on the left by some old growth trees. After that there is another tunnel with wide open areas to the left and right of the tunnel.
#11, old #8, unchanged. Why mess with it? A couple of tunnels of pines to the left and dense woods and shrubs to the right. If you can throw 300+ dead straight thru an 8X8 hole you can ace this. Good luck.
#12, old #9 redesigned. Red tees moved to the right and a little longer. A donut hole/tunnel down and up a slight hill. Woods to the left many trees to the right. The basket was recessed slightly into the woods.
#13, old #10, redesigned. Tee area is unchanged, wide open to the left, woods right. A dogleg right. The basket was moved back into the woods about 30 feet and the basket is well guarded.
#14 new. Dense woods and shrubs right. It begins open but you have to go thru a stand of older trees to get to the open basket.
#15, old #13, redesigned. Red tees lengthened otherwise unchanged. An ace run around or over some trees. Don't go long, there is a severe drop into some trees and the lagoon less than 2 paces past the basket.
16, old #14 unchanged. Another tunnel thru a copse of trees. Left is the drop off and lagoon. There is a drainage ditch past the basket that is OB.
#17 unchanged. Park access road to the left is OB. Trees to the right with of course, a tunnel.
#18 unchanged. A row of trees to the right with the parking lot access road just to the right of them.

$6 to enter the park in the summer. Only 1 bench along the entire course. A longish walk to the restrooms that are closed in the off season. You may encounter casual park users around baskets 1, 2, 15, 16, 17 & 18. And rarely elsewhere along the course. No trash cans anywhere to be seen.

Several of the older baskets need to be replaced.

The biggest problem or potential problem is what could be on the course's signature hole, number 1. There is a public fishing pier just to the right of the basket. There is also a picnic table and park grill near the basket that hopefully will be moved. There could be picnickers around this basket and it may have to be skipped. Perhaps some Disc Golf warning signs could help.

The new signs, maps, and scorecards have not been installed or printed as of this review. And the park is looking to upgrade the tee pads to something other than natural turf.

This course is far enough away to be generally uncrowded. In fact its easy to have the course to yourself especially during the week.

Its definitely worth the trip if you are heading to the Western NY area.
