Nice Little Practice Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Aug 16, 2011 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

A great place to go if you're jonesing for DG and stuck in West Chico.

Cons:

If there are other disc golfers you probably should band together as 9 holes/3 baskets = 1 group max.

Other Thoughts:

The nine hole layout plays like a below-average park course with somewhat challenging shot shapes.

Oak Park Way 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 22, 2010 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Medium sized park with large established trees that make for varied shots hole to hole. All but one tee pad is cement and the baskets are Mach 5's. Bathrooms and drinking fountains on site. Quick round, can play two 9 hole rounds in an hour if park is not crowded.

Cons:

There are only three baskets for nine hole making it impossible for more than three groups to play at once. Very busy park with visitors that could care less if you are playing a round. No signs, only a red number on the ground to tell you what tee pad you are on. The tee pads are on the existing walkways so you have to be mindful of pedestrians and try and find each tee pad.

Other Thoughts:

Hole 1: 261.94' Tee pad is on the west side of the park where the middle walkway meets the sidewalk, shoot for eastern most pin.
Hole 2: 249.37' Tee pad on southern most walkway by the school fence shoot for the south western basket.
Hole 3: 319.06' Tee pad on the southern most walkway and is unmarked shoot to the northern most basket.
Hole 4: 298.92' Tee pad by the park bench on the northern most walkway shoot for eastern most basket.
Hole 5: 221.14' Tee pad on the middle walkway next to the light pole shoot for the southern most basket.
Hole 6: 362.94' Tee pad is underneath the trees next to the trash can in the southwestern corner shoot for the eastern most pin.
Hole 7: 279.01' Tee pad is on the middle path to the right of #5's tee pad over by the playground. Shoot for the Northwestern basket.
Hole 8: 234.00' Tee pad is on the grass next to the drainage grate shoot for the southern most basket.
Hole 9: 322.64' Tee pad is behind #6 tee pad at the very corner of the park shoot for the Northwestern basket. The street is OB.

Fun practice course, but it is hard to play around without being interrupted by other park goers.
