1) Beautiful and spacious park adjacent to the river with some great scenic views. The course was set up in the long pin positions (used for the DGPT Silver Series Vintage Open if you want to view video footage of the course before playing)

2) Excellent large textured concrete tee pads, nice full color tee signs with hole maps and includes the multiple possible pin placements and distances for each, nice Discatcher baskets in good shape. Kiosk with course map in case you need it.

3) Nice easy to follow course flow. We utilized U-Disc since the course was set up in the pro layout, but only needed it occasionally to verify we were in the right spot.

4) Solid mix of open bomber holes coupled with some very skinny technical wooded holes. Mix in the mild elevation changes and carefully designed shot shapes, this course has enough variety to keep you entertained and just enough teeth to challenge your game.

5) Hole 1-5 are pretty open park style golf with a few trees to beat here and there, mostly in the longer distance range (400+ foot par 3's for example) Then at Hole 6 you dip off into the woods for some welcome shade from the Arkansas sun for multiple mid to long tight wooded Par 3's and 4's.

6) Hole #8 (on this layout at least) was spectacular. Uphill tight tunnel Par 3 with a very low ceiling with the green atop a large plateau style outcropping of natural rock probably 15 feet above the playing surface. A very well designed challenging hole with character and a memorable view.

7) Hole #16 (on this layout at least) was a very nice shortish (300 feet) Par 3 slightly downhill to a true island green roughly the size of circle 2 and completely surrounded by water (minus a small land bridge). Very demanding shot, with a fair landing zone. The backdrop is gorgeous as a wall of sheer cliffs lines the distant left side, the river and dam at your back, and the open expanse of rolling grassy hills to your right make this a memorable hole, even if the difficulty isn't super high.

8) A very well balanced course with pretty much equal right and left hand tee shots. Some of the longer holes do tend to benefit the righty backhand hyzer, but I still found it fair to us lefties.

9) Course was mowed well and the wooded holes main fairways were mulched out with the rough being left a little thick, but not allowed to grow crazy wild until you got deep off the fairway.

10) Lot of very large mature trees on the open holes whilst giving way to smaller younger trees in the heavily wooded section.

11) Campground on site for those needing a spot to stop along your journey (well patrolled by the local PD) Not a super busy course, as we played early on a Saturday morning and had the course to ourselves.

12) Course has a 19th hole, but it was on the other side of property behind Hole #1 and it wasn't part of our layout so we didn't play it.

1) Limited parking by Hole #1. There is probably only space for 10 or so vehicles and with a pavilion and bathroom nearby, chances are non disc golfers will take up some of those spots. In our case, dog walkers.

2) The tee sign for Hole #4 was broken out of the ground and laying beside the tee pad. It looked like a mower wasn't paying attention and ran into the pole and broke it off at the base. Not a huge con as things like that happen, and all the other tee signs were in perfect condition. As the course was freshly mowed, it may have been a very recent bit of damage and simply hadn't been repaired yet.

3) Insects. Arkansas in the summer beside the river diving in and out of the woods in this humidity will certainly bring upon the need to wear bug spray, and check yourself after the round for ticks.

4) Length. Not a con for most, but can be for some. Come prepared with water, and possibly a cart if you own one, as this course is a VERY long loop that only circles back to the parking lot after 18 holes. Though only moderate in elevation, there is a lot of long walks throughout, especially if you play the pro layout.

5) As with most park settings, there are several holes near buildings, pavilions, and roadways. Be on the lookout for cars, joggers, bikers, and dog walkers.

Very easy course to locate just off the I-40 with the amenities to allow one to stay overnight. We used it as an overnight stop on our way west and played the course in the morning. This course provides a little bit of everything so that even less experienced and less skilled golfers can enjoy it, despite being long and semi demanding, we found it to be a wonderful experience and a ton of fun. There is another disc golf course in the area that unfortunately we did not get to play, but this course, coupled with the views, amenities, and easy access off I-40 would by itself be a destination course I would recommend to any one traveling the I-40 between Oklahoma City and Little Rock.

Lost a roc3 long on 16. Water was pretty deep. Wind coming off the river makes the first 4 holes a little bit tougher!

Nice that the parking is just a few feet from the 1st tee and the 18th basket.

We're blessed to have 2 of the best courses in the State right here in Russellville. Old Post is probably my favorite, because it's where I learned to play. I like that it has good parking and easy access. A nice Basket right by hole number one to warm up putting. I like the mix of wide open holes and wooded holes. It's plenty long for non-pros and challenging. I especially love holes 11 - 15.

Hole number one is almost an impossible par for me right now. If you are a longer player, it's definitely possible, but forget about birdie. I think this whole should be a par 4 for non-pro players. I watched the pros play on it a few weeks ago and not one of them birdied it. Not even Simon or Eagle.

I also love that there is a water spout and shaded pavilion area between the 18th basket and hole number 1. Nice place to refill your water if your playing 36 and a good place to get some shade between rounds.

I really love this course!

Really clean, easy to play course with some challenging bits. Some of the holes really stand out and made me love it. For courses in the area, it's amazing. If you are traveling through it's worth playing, for sure. Plays fairly quickly and is easy to follow.

Not worth going too far out of your way to play this course. It's quality is undermined by being just a little mundane. It's forgiving and won't really challenge players enough to make them better. Although it's lovely, it feels a bit too tame and lacks the magic of more interesting courses.

Maybe I'm being too critical, I had high expectations for this course but I think living in an area with copious amounts of amazing disc golf has raised my expectations beyond what Old Post could meet.

Old Post DGC is has nice concrete tees at every hole, and good baskets too. There is often good changes in elevation. A handful of wooded holes, but mostly open and grassy with scattered mature trees. One hole with water in play. I really started liking this course once I got a few holes into it. It starts a little slow, with 1-5 crossing open grassy hills. 6-8 are more wooded, I really liked hole 8, uphill shot to a basket on top of a mound under a group of medium sized trees. Hole 9 gets back into the grassy hills, and most of the back 9 has a similar feel, but with a few more trees than the first few holes. Hole 16 is a downhill open throw to a green 3/4 surrounded by water (or at least mud). Very fun drive. 17 is also downhill, but much longer, with rough behind the basket. 18 is a long finisher, with a big turning dogleg right, and a mando at the corner.

Some of the holes have too much open space, with very few obstacles. It is using what the park has to offer, but can be a little bland. It is long in places, but lacking some challenge compared with higher caliber courses. Hot weather and little shade make it a long hike in summer.

Old Post DGC has several very good holes, a fairly simple and efficient layout that is easy to follow, and good quality equipment. I played one round passing through, and scored a +1 (3 birdies, and 4 bogies). If I made a couple of more putts could've been under par. This is a very good course with some really fun throws. Set in a very nice park that is well kept.

Easy access from Interstate 40 makes this course a must play for the true disc golf enthusiast . Upon pulling into the parking lot the smell of fresh cut grass was in the air and mild temps and a slight breeze with the sun shining made for a glorious round of disc golf. This course I believe will satisfy most all disc golfers. Open, technical, elevation, water,and a few bomber holes to boot. Love this course and will always stop and play when passing through. Moreover, a short distance away is another quality disc golf course called Pleasant View DGC. When talking disc golf courses Russellville, Arkansas has got it going on.

None come to mind about the course. Parking for disc golf is kind of limited. However if you don't mind walking about half a mile there is plenty of parking in other spots.

This course checks all the boxes for what you want in a course. Its rated a little high for me and thats the main reason i think locals shouldnt be able to review courses on here, they always over rate their own courses. This isnt one of the 50 best courses in america as the rating indicates but ill be back to pkay this course again. It has everything you want in a course.

Great holes, great scenery, very well designed. many signature holes and very well thought out.

first time I played this course It whooped me, but it is one of those courses you can play all day. Russellville and the local designer have done a good job making their town a disc golf destination.

Includes both long and technical holes, meaning the course shows the best and the worst in every player.
FAVORITE HOLES:
Hole 4-slight incline, with the basket resting on the side of a steep incline
Hole 6-short, but technical hole with the opportunity for an ace.
Hole 8-slight uphill, the basket sits on top of a rock covered hill which adds to the courses scenic rating.
Hole 16-includs a downhill drive, leading to a medium distance over/around a pond, where the basket sits on a peninsula.

The course basically acts as a hiking trail where you have holes crossing paths with actual hiking trails, bike trails, and roads.
LEAST FAVORITE/MOST CHALLENGING:
Hole 7-long hole that goes over the top of a hill, hard to judge where the basket is from the tee.
Hole 9-the reason I do not like this hole, is because there is an incline that drops on the left side and its hard to keep your disc from rolling into the trees.
Hole 10-long hole, with the same issue as hole 9.

Good course, LOTS of variety in the holes, and has an awesome water hole. It was great with a bunch of ace runs, and many birdie opportunities.

I absolutely love Old Post no other park is even close to it since I moved away from Russellville.

Good selection of shots, long bomb hyzers to finesse wooded shots. There is an island hole, but few other water hazards. Definitely one of the best courses I've played in Arkansas. A good challenge to land an even par.

The local vintage disc golf guys are awesome! The host an annual tourney in April, definitely worth attending.

This course has it all- open shots, wooded shots, uphill shots, downhill shots, over water shots, technical placing shots. This course has it all! There was so many different challenges on each and every hole! This course has awesome concrete t-pads. The signs were very accurate and easy to read. The overlook around 10,11 was phenomenal! You could see the entire river and it was beautiful. The baskets were Innova Discatchers pro and were in great condition. This course is a few miles off the freeway and it is a very quiet park which helps you focus on just your game and nothing else. Tee 1 and hole 18 basket are right by the parking lot which helps with not having to walk a long way to the car. Friendly locals. Hole 16 is the Signature Hole which is down a hill over a little pond. This hole was very well designed and fun (the other holes were well designed too).

There are only 7 actual spots for parking in the disc golf dedicated parking lot which is kind of bad if it is a busy day. There are no trash cans or benches on any of the holes. Course seems to be relativley busy which could be a problem if you are on a time limit.

This course is amazing! Probably one of the best designed courses in the state. If you are driving by, you should for shure come and check this course out to see why it is as good as it is.

-Excellent use of what was available. There were many restrictions that the park put on the designers of the course, but they did a great job with the land they could use.

-Huge variety of holes. Some are on the shorter side, others are long, maxing out at about 660'. Uphill, downhill, there are some of both. Tightly wooded, mostly open, again a few of both. I enjoy the layout.

-The scenery is awesome. You will have views of the river, and occasionally some wildlife will make their presence known.

-Birdies can be had by anyone playing this course, and big arms will still be challenged by most of the course. There are only a couple of holes that I would consider a "must" 2 for the bigger arms.

-This course is fun! I always enjoy playing this course, no matter how well, I am doing. I wish I lived closer to it. I would play it daily if I could.

I wish it could have a couple more par-4s and a par-5 or two. The par-4s that are there are great. Other than that, I don't see this course as lacking anything.

Understand how to play wind and elevation. There is almost always wind in this area just off the Arkansas River. It makes the seemingly innocent looking holes challenging at times. Also, it doesn't always blow in the same direction, so you could play the holes one way one day, and have a different challenge the next as the wind switches directions. I think it adds another interesting and fun element to the course.

There is water and pavilions near the first tee and parking area. There are a lot of things to do in the park near the course, including biking that has trails around the course. I have never seen or heard of any issues involving bikers.

I have been at the course when it seemed like the gnats could carry you away. It isn't always like that, but be prepared in case it is.

The water is usually clear enough to see discs at the bottom of the water on #16. On the rest of the course, there is the possibility of losing discs on the blind holes, and the holes along the bluff. On the downhill holes, if you let your disc start to fade too early, or too high above the fairway, then it could end up going a long way into the woods.

To kinda illustrate how tough the course is, the SSA in a tournament at this course involving some of the top players in the world was just over 52. A round of 52 was rated at 1001, and a round of 62 was rated 905 in both rounds of the tournament.

The fun factor along with the layout of the course make me consider it a "phenomenal" course, thus the 4.5 rating. I truly wish I could play lt every day.

This course has a lot of fun holes, with a lot of elevation changes and a good variety of shots. The views of the river and dam are really nice along the way. Enough shade to keep players cool even on the hottest days. Hole 9 was my favorite, a downhill bomb with a great view.

After playing it once I couldn't wait to play it again. There are just so many good golf holes on the course, where you have to think about where to place your drive in order to best make your next long shot. There's plenty of birdie holes out there too. Lots of fast greens on the sides of hills.

Not really any cons for me. Some people might not like the long length or the hike. It's real close to a perfect 5, but it doesn't have a posted map and the tee signs aren't the best.

I've played nearly three hundred courses and this one is on my top ten list of them.

Great Scenery, Layout was great considering what they had to work with, Challenging, mix of short/ long holes, lots of elevation changes.

No trashcans except at Hole #9, RSD Track Team runs on course which is not bad but they set up and have their meetings in the middle of #1 instead of to the side... other than that not much to complain about.

Set up in a Bike Trail so watch for bikers and Park offers a lot of sports other than disc golf.

Nicely organized, updated with signage and concrete pads. Easily navigated. Challenging mix of shots throughout. Located on the edge of the Arkansas River which provided nice scenery.

Could use some water fountains and or a bathroom halfway through. Not much to complain about really.

This is my "Home" course. I love it, and haven't found any that I would rather play over, and over, and over....

The tee pads were concrete and the baskets were in great shape. This course had a good mixture long, short, open, and wooded holes. There is a water hazard on 16 which offers a challenge but is not impossible. The park is beautiful right on the Arkansas River and is really well taken care of. Nice changes in terrain .This is the best course I have played, but that isn't saying a whole lot since I haven't played many.

Can't really think of any major things. Beware of bikers on some of the holes, but they never really interefered with any of my shots.
