-It's a disc golf course...

First and foremost, I rated this a 1.5 bc they made the most irreconcilable blunder one can make, they didn't use the water...
90% of discgolf courses don't have any sort of water and would kill to have a stream or river or lake to add excitement and scenery. This plot has a nice little creek that runs along most of the course but doesn't once come into play. I'm not saying you need a shot over the creek or even a hole that plays next to it the whole time, but the fact that not a single basket placement brings the creek into play even once is insane to me.

Rubber pads: not a pro bc they're rubber, not a con bc at least there's something.

The course isn't a loop, instead it's a linear path requiring you to walk back to the start when finished.

The trash... my Gods. I thought these cute little country towns were supposed to clean and respectable but this place is worse than down town. It seems like there's a few locals that use this as a garbage dump to save 20 bucks months.

A fun local niner with rec distances but set in a charming little park with enough challenge for lower-level throwers. I liked it, but those seeking more of a challenge will probably be "one and done" here. The course doesn't seem to get as busy as other local courses, a pro in my book. It's nice to see good rec courses, and this one's pretty nice.

Not too many cons here, other than the short distances (a con for some, not for me). Some of the rubber tees are starting to deteriorate. Concrete would be nice.

One of the better 9-hole rec courses around IMO and higher skill levels could enjoy a casual round here I believe. Fun and pleasant, I would definitely throw her again!

Harmon Park is a fairly interesting 9 hole course, with a few challenging holes, though mostly straight shots starting with hole 4. Even then, trees come into play on about every hole, which does force some slight shot shaping. Holes 1 and 3 are fairly challenging for being less than 300' (though #3 seems a bit longer than that actually). There is a creek to the right of the woods on hole 4--so be careful if trying the Simon line over the treeline.

PROS:
>Pretty decent shot and distance variety for a 9 hole course.
>Fairly low lost disc risk, even though a few holes play in the woods.
>Seems like it doesn't get too busy.
>Right off highways 42 and 48, very easy to stop by for a quick round.

>Tee signs--Yes, but basic (hole and distance)--the lines shown are just straight lines, not actual flight paths.
>Next tee direction/signs--No, but a nice course map at the beginning.
>Wheelchair/cart friendly--No, yes.

COURSE PLAY:

>Shot variety--Distances were from 170' to 333', no two holes really felt the same. Couple R to L, couple L to R, couple holes where it seems a flex shot would be best, and some fairly straight runs as well.
>Layout, long walks (inc back to car), loops--One loop of 3 holes, then the next 6 sort of form a second loop.
>Total distance walked--1.2 miles
>Ease of finding next tee--Easy.
>General difficulty--Medium. Holes 1, 3, and 8 are good challenges and fun.
>Mud/water issues--One creek, really does not come into play. Some muddy spots around hole 1 basket into hole 2 teepad.
>Water or O/B to contend with--Not really.
>Difficult rough/lost disc risk--Woods are a little thick, so a massive grip lock could find its way into a nice hiding place, but most holes (3 being the exception) are pretty easy to stay on the beaten path.
>Scrape/scratch risk--Pretty low (see above).
>How busy was course/park--No one there on a SAT late afternoon.

OVERALL:

>Fun/enjoyment factor, would I play again? Yes--something about this course just spoke to me. The shot selection and lack of repetition were nice for a niner. A couple easy holes, several medium, and #3 is pretty challenging.
>Who will this course challenge? Up to INT players, but most players will find at least some enjoyment.
>Is it worth a drive? Stop by if traveling within 30-45 minutes and you need a quick niner.
>Anything unique? Hole 3 was an interesting hole, would like to try that one a few more times--was getting dark so we just played each hole once.
>Would be a half star higher with--Bit better tee signs, next tee signs, but really the course is about as good as it is likely to get, which is fine.

I am in my 50s, 90 or so courses played, 875ish.

Harmon Park's disc golf course is, more or less, exactly what you would expect from a shorter, nine-hole course. With that said, there is a decent amount of variety offered among the holes. Some of the holes are wooded, some are open, and some have a decent mix. Numbers 1-3 play through thick trees, and 4-9 play with either some or just a few obstacles in the way. It's also nice that there aren't any holes back to back that feel repetitive. You will likely be throwing either a different disc or a different shot shape on each hole, something that is a welcome change from many other park courses.

The course isn't very long at all. For intermediate players and up, number 8 is the only hole with any challenging length. All of the teepads are too short, not grippy enough, or both, and it's sometimes worth just throwing from right beside the teepad instead. The walk from 9 back to 1 is quite long compared to the length of the course. Also, parking is a little confusing. When you come into the park, pull around to the back of the brick building to find spots. You're going to have a bit of a walk from the parking lot to the first tee as well.

There's not really too much to say about Harmon to be honest. As mentioned, it's a pretty simple course, and you're going to get basically what you're expecting. With that said, Harmon left me and my friends pleasantly surprised. We stopped to play it on the way home from another course, as it was on our way and we figured that we might as well try it out. While originally only planning to play nine, we ended up looping and playing it again. If you're close, Harmon is definitely worth a drive over. Otherwise, Cincinnati and Dayton have a lot more courses to offer that are worth much more of your time.

Nice par 3 park course in town for quick practice rounds over lunch or after work. First 3 baskets are wooded and play more technical, but then opens up the back 6 with just enough gaps to keep it interesting. Normally not too busy.

Better pads would be nice upgrade from the rubber. Fairly busy paths alongside some holes so best to let folks pass threw before throwing... Shouldn't be a problem unless it gets away from you

2 can be pretty muddy

It's a fun shorter course just off of Rt 63 in Lebanon. Easy to get to if you're driving in the area. Hole 1 starts out with a nice little turn over shot with the basket sitting on a flat area over a small mound with a drop off behind it. So going for an ace could cause you to miss longer because of the drop off. #2 is a fun little hyzer thru the trees.#3 is a placement shot off the tee, to get to the basket off the tee would take a luck shot. 4,5 & 6 opens up but you still need to shape your shot. 7, 8 & 9 adds distance and makes the course complete for those that want to throw a bit farther. You'll still need to hit your lines.
Fun 9 hole course that's easy to walk and imo can be enjoyed by most levels of play. Pro Open might find it not challenging enough.

The only cons I saw was the walk from 6 to 7, 8 & 9 is a bit longer than you'd like. Then after finishing on 9 a longer walk back to the car. And limited parking.
Some people might see hole 3 as a con but I like placement shot type holes.

The pictures on here are not up to date, the course is cut better/cleaner than the pictures show. I would encourage people to stop by and play. There's another 9 hole course (Mason) a few miles away you could play and make it a round of 18.

This is a fun little course for a 9 hole course. I would use it for practicing for the longer courses.

Nice mix of hole types.
No hole is 100% open, with no trees to consider with the exception of 4.
Typically well kept.
Designed well with what was available.
Typically not too much traffic compared to other courses in the area.

No real distance hole - hole 8 is the longest @ 335 ft.
Holes 1-3 can get swampy and muddy after rain.

The first course I played and fell in love with the game. If you are planning to make a trip to play Turtlecreek, which is 15 minutes away, stop by here for a warm up! You may be surprised by this 9 hole. It has a certain charm. It's just off of the US Route 48 bypass, off I-71. Or if you're coming from I-75, get off in Monroe and follow 63 into Lebanon. It's off that same road (63 becomes Main Street in Lebanon).

Somewhere between June 2, 2013 and July 20, 2013 some changes have been made to the course. Rubber tee pads have been installed, which is great. But in the process, the pads were installed a little forward towards the basket in comparison to where the old markers were. On this already short course, this actually has a huge impact in making the course easier. Particularly hole 5 is now much easier - not that it was too difficult before, but it's now that much easier. Also, trees have been cleared from hole 2 - which makes 2 a lot easier as well. Now there is a very clear path to throw a hyzer to the hole. Overall, my rating for the course remains. But in making improvements, the course has also become a little easier.

Hole 2 is stated 300 ft distance, but is more like 235.

Dropping .5 star rating on this as holes 2 and 3 are overgrown with weeds, some approaching 6 feet tall.

7/23/2014 - a dgcoursereview member updated the conditions of the course to be unplayable, and remarked that it was horribly overgrown (I assume in reference to the first 3 holes.) As I reported concerns about conditions a month prior, I looked up some contacts for the City of Lebanon's parks and recreation department, and sent an inquiry about the upkeep of the course. I got the following prompt response: "Yes we are planning on removing
the weeds ASAP.
Sorry for the inconvenience." It is such a shame that the course got let go like this, but hopefully conditions will be addressed soon.

First few are in the woods, very well made, not too many trees. different from other 9 hole courses

very short course, but has nice drive opportunities on the last few.

I was surprised at how nice this 9 hole course is, youll definitely enjoy it, not too much walking, but just enough.

Update 3/9/14: new, large fly pad tees are in place, and there has been even more clearing up of the underbrush to make this course nicely inviting.

This nine hole course in the heart of Lebanon is a newer surprise for folks who dismiss 9 hole courses out of hand. Based on the limited space available between the National Guard building, a new baseball field, and the ball golf course on the other side of the scenic Turtle Creek, only nine really good holes were possible. The design is to be commended, because it includes a nice variety of lines, shots, and challenges for the recreational to intermediate player.

Starting with a tight, medium-length drive to a risk/reward 'green' that drops off just past the basket, you play down in the woods to a couple of holes that require some forethought to plan your line to the basket. Then, you get a short-ish anny (rhbh), and a tricky hole #5 with the only mando requiring you to zip through a narrow tree gap about 190' from the tee. After a fairly straightforward hole 6, you walk to the right across the hike/bike path bridge, and get to shoot a short, woodsy anhyzer, then a much longer hole that is now more open than the original pictures show. The glade of trees approaching the basket is now more park-like and cleaned up of underbrush. You finish coming back toward the bridge on #9, just back on the other side of the path from the #8 tee.
For a newer course, the rough and underbrush is already fairly forgiving, and the fairways are generous and well-maintained (the only challenging maintenance issue is the low-lying area along the 2nd & 3rd fairways, which have been carved out of the woods).

Tee signs are very good, the new, 24-chain DGA baskets catch discs very well, and there is a perfect map near the first hole.

The course plays alongside, but never across, a wide paved hiker/biker path, and does not interfere with other park activities.

There is currently only one trash barrel near the course map, and the bathroom by the right field fence is usually locked.

Parking appears to be available in the National Guard lot, but that's a long walk to any part of the course.

The limited land available breaks up the flow of the course design, forcing you to end across the creek with no chance to have a loop.

A big thumbs down goes to the vandals who have already stolen a couple of the tee signs. You guys know you're welcome to put them back, you know!

In an ideal world, it might have been possible to shoehorn in more holes here, with some shots near the bridge going over the creek and back, but this would have required significant disruption of the natural woods (and that's not what disc golf is supposed to be about!)

I would raise my rating from a 3.0 to a 3.5 if the infrastructure here was more supportive of disc golf (say, parking near the first tee and restrooms nearby open more often).

If you're looking for a neat day of disc golf, play Mason Sports Park 9 and Lebanon 9, plus the 18 over at Gulley. With the addition of better tee pads at Gulley, and consent from the PDGA, I'd think that would make a really cool one day tournament format.

Limited space means a longer walk from hole 9 back to the parking lot but it is flat so not to bad.

Tee pads are grass at this time but I am sure they are coming at a later time.

Nice start, the official grand opening was this past weekend and was the first time I saw it.

The future addition of the alternate tees will allow you to turn the 9 holes into an 18 hole course.

This 9 hole course is a step above most beginner level courses, the first three holes have been cut through some very dense woods and make use of some nice elevation changes.

Beautiful location in a well maintained park.

Hole lengths on 4-7 are very short making them easy birdies.

Very little risk reward on most of the holes.

Bike path winds through the course leading to issues with pedestrians.

Hole #2 can get very swampy.

Course doesn't quite loop back to the beginning area.

Only 9 tees currently, course could be served well by some alternate tees.

After hole #3, the remainder of the course is very flat.

This course has been tightly woven into a nice park which impacted several of the tee box and hole locations.

Hole #1 has a wicked penalty for an overshot approach, a 15 foot drop which can lead to a tough start to your round.

Hole #2 is shorter yet forces you to throw through a densely wooded area, very swampy after rain.

Hole #3 is a nice blend of woods and hole length.

Hole #4 is a curl to the right to a basket nestled on the ege of the woods. A significantly overthrown drive will put your disc in the stream.

Hole #5 takes your through a gap in the woods to a basket placed in a nice patch of trees.

#6 has you on a narrow strip between the baseball field and bikepath for a straight on hole surrounded by a few small trees. Probably the weakest hole on the course, but a potential ace run.

#7 is back into some light woods and like #6 is a little on the short end.

#8 is the longest hole. An open field that narrows and hooks right around a large swath of woods. Tee box for 8 is to the east of the #7 basket (took a while to find as Hole signs are not up as of yet)

#9 is a decent length with some overhead branches that necessitate a low throw down the fairway.

Overall, a fun course to really challenge yourself to score low on and develop your approach game and putting.

Some of the holes have room for longer alternate tees that would add length and increase the difficulty. Most notably #2 could begin at the top of the hill at the end of #1 and take it from a mediocre hole to a signature hole.
