UPSHOT WORKSHOP 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 8, 2016 Played the course:once

Pros:

Bullet Review***
* Great signage
* Nice concrete tee pads
*New baskets
*Terrain
* Course begins and ends in same area by the parking lot

Cons:

* Course is pretty much like a long putt putt course
* Every hole feels exactly the same

Other Thoughts:

This 9 hole is for most players a warm up for the 24 hole course. This review will not be very long in detail. All I can say about this course is that it was for me essentially an upshot warm up. Which is very useful for warming up. The 24 hole course is a placement course. You'll be throwing short accurate shots most of the time. This 9 hole definitely has a bit of the fun factor. Ace run on every hole. You don't have to worry about losing your disc. You could probably just use one disc for the entire course. All holes are under 275ft. Good luck on those ACE RUNS!!

Nice warm up for the 24. 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 5, 2014 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

A good beginner course or warm up for the main event (the 24 hole course on the property). Most of the holes are wide open and straight forward. Basically, grip it and rip it. A really nice opportunity to test out some new discs or build up some confidence in yourself before you try the significantly more technical and difficult 24 hole course. There are some drastic elevation changes (a theme for both courses) which can bring in some substantial rolling of the disc....for better or worse! All holes are well marked and have nice tee boxes.

Cons:

There isn't much variety or difficulty here. Which is not necessarily a bad thing. But, it starts to get a tad monotonous, and compared to the awe and beauty of the 24 hole course on the property, it is just hard to match up to the splendor of the other course.

Other Thoughts:

There are many activities to do on the property besides disc golf for other family members who may not be up for 33 holes of difficult terrain (tons of elevation changes). Basketball courts, tennis courts, and many geocaches are all right there by the first hole of either course. The shack is rarely open. In fact, it has never been open in my half dozen times there, so bring your own snacks/drinks!

Fun and Forgiving 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 19, 2012 Played the course:once

Pros:

Plenty of space
Short holes but still interesting
Nice views over the resort
well maintained
tee boxes

Cons:

Short course. Finished in under 25 min.
Expensive

Other Thoughts:

Great course for new players but what they are charging is not worth the drive. They even gave us a discount for only playing the 9 hole but still was too steep for such a short course.

Heartwood - 9 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:May 28, 2012 Played the course:once

Pros:

Concrete tee-pads
Nice use of elevation
Easy and quick
Maps
Fun little nine holes
On a beautiful resort with all the amenities, including a 'convenience' store at the clubhouse/bait shop

Cons:

Bugs!
Short
Expensive

Other Thoughts:

This little nine is fun, and is a nice course for an introduction to disc golf or for the families. It is a good warm-up course before throwing the Heartwood - 24. There are newer concrete tee boxes on all the holes. Maps on all the holes, though for this course it's easy to see most of the baskets from the tee-pad.
The biggest downfall to this course is the price. But, for the amount of disc golf to be played it's not too bad. It's also a little off the beaten path, but the challenge of the two courses out there give it a high replay value.
