(to the uninitiated: this is a temp course, set up one day per year)

This is a beautiful piece of land, rolling hills of green, a pond, trees, and flowers. These are the best set up temp holes I have seen -- good baskets, pads and markers for tees, and nice mando signs. There are some very cool holes. For example, hole 3 where you shoot from an elevated tee over the pond or 14 where you come through a gap and then up a steep hill to a defended basket. The course is easy to navigate and flows well.

Most of the problems stem from the limitted amount of land. Many holes play too close together. There are also OBs and mandos designed to ameliorate this which feel gimmicky. A number of the holes in the middle of the course just go back and forth across a big field with a few trees. There are also a lot of holes which are just boringly straight, and the turning holes are enforced by mando, not by the trees and landsape. Some holes definitely end up in NAGS territory -- unless you are a consistent 375' thrower, you're probably look at a number of wide open 100' - 150' foot approach shots. Route 422 also runs right along the course and detracts from the ambiance.

It makes sense that this course only has DG one day a year. There's a lot of nice landscaping that would get trampled too much by a permanent course.

Great place to 'rip it' as it's mostly open however
the tees are strategically placed to force a shot
around mature trees & hedgerows throughout the
property. Mandos are also included to keep players in check.

Since there was a tournament the next day, out of
bounds was clearly marked. Additionally the score
card (downloadable from this site) includes
unmarked OOB (generally water & on/over roads) -
all which increases difficulty and challenge.

The flow was seamless as there were no long
walks between holes. Strongest were the holes
that traversed throughout the property (see cons for
minor exception).

There's a short and long setup (mostly different pin
placements - one used for each tourney round)
which is one advantage to having a course with
mobile baskets (I played the short/round 1 layout).

Extremely high fun factor - this was frustration free
disc golf in a relaxing setting.

It's a temporary course. Because of this the tees
are natural, the mobile baskets are of inconsistent
quality and there aren't any navigation signs
(however there's a map to print on this site). All
this is to be expected with a temp course and
none of these are even remotely a problem. They
just need mentioning.

Some of the back/forth holes across the creek had
a repetitive feel

There's a few holes by Rt. 422 which can be loud
at times.

Hole 3 was wet due to recent flooding inflicting
mushy foot on those who couldn't out-throw it's
insidiously damp tentacles. This was not the norm
from what I was told.

Lack of wooded holes is noticeable but doesn't
detract from enjoyment.

Upon arrival I was fortunate enough to come across a group of five locals, asked them for directional advice to tee 1 and subsequently accepted the invite to play a round with them. It's always beneficial to have a course guide as you gain insight, understanding & perspective - especially on a scarcely played temp. course with such a vast (in eastern PA DG terms) tournament legacy: totaling 31 years now!

For those familiar with eastern PA disc golf, the obvious course comparison is Little Lehigh Parkway in Allentown, PA (I also felt a spattering of Ellison Park in Rochester, NY on the back/forth holes listed in cons). However Conrad's a little different as there are no extreme elevation changes or long walks between holes - it flows perfectly (so much so I was surprised how relatively quickly we got to 17 - even with 6 people playing!) & has primarily a peaceful, relaxing feel.

The true shame is that the course isn't permanently installed. For the most part, it avoids other park activities (save the 19th hole basket protected by the statue of Chief Shikellmy - awesome BTW) and would be an extremely low impact use of otherwise under utilized land.

The hope for the future is that this course is installed permanently (or at the very least seasonally - has this been proposed to the board of approvals? Perhaps a fall-spring compromise installment?)

Regardless, if you have the opportunity to play here, seize it as for the time being, these occasions are rare and without a doubt worth the effort.

Great course for the big arms! Well balanced, good variety of shot choices. Hole 3 plays over a beautiful pond. Several holes play back and forth across an open field with a small stream running down the middle. There is trouble to get into with the park roads as OB. The final hole is in my opinion the signature hole, it's not long but there is OB on both sides of the fairway and a statue of Chief Shikellmy just before the basket.

That we can only play here once a year.

If you get the chance to play the Conrad Weiser take it. It will be well worth your while!

Signature holes are unlike any other, beautiful layout, mature tree, well maintained, challenging, unique, no course like it, rich in history, CHIEF!

This course is one of the best courses you will most likely play, it is a gorgeous layout that has challenging holes for all skill levels. Pond has some amazing holes put into play. This course has been representing disc golf for over 30+ years. CHIEF! You won't understand until you play Conrad. Highly recommended!
