An interesting concept

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 6, 2022 Played the course:once

Pros:

No 'magic number' problems:

Too many times designers are trying to fit a magic number of holes (usually 18 or 9) on a piece of property that cannot handle it which is one of my biggest pet peeves in disc golf design. Instead of doing that the designers of the course were honest with themselves and realized this is not a big piece of property to work with so they put in 3 baskets and 3 tee areas. The idea is to throw at each basket from each area creating a nine hole course. Another course down the road has the same concept and I love it. Keeps things fresh, doesn't tax the course too much and kept the budget small.

Cons:

Too small/not enough challenge:

I would have called this a practice area on the site here if it was up to me. Only 3 baskets is just not a disc golf course even with 3 tee areas it's not really a 9 hole course IMO. Although there are a few hills to throw over and around the course lacks length and challenge as no trees or OB exist here.

The blue basket here looks like its been vandalized. Seems someone was yanking on it pretty hard to try and get it out, they failed removing it but now it sits bent off to the side and almost impossible to putt on. Sad.

Other Thoughts:

A pretty nifty concept from the designers and it seems like an underused park which is perfect if you live nearby but otherwise skip it and head to CEI or Freeman for a real disc golfing experience.

Microcourse 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 19, 2013 Played the course:once

Pros:

Good baskets for a small course.
Signs clearly point towards the holes that the tees are from.
Good hills in the park make for some blind shots and top of hill shots.
Good use of short to medium range holes.

Cons:

Blue basket it not level, as stated by jordanferg92.
Microcourses are a good use of 3 pad 3 basket 9 hole style, but a bit of walking to and from the tee areas.
No actual tee pads like the near by Eagle Point park.

Other Thoughts:

Another course on my list that would be fun if your house butted up to the park. I would love to have something small to practice at daily.

Microcourse 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Mar 30, 2013 Played the course:once

Pros:

1. Excellent use of elevation and landscape of the park.
2. Located in a nice park
3. Good baskets
4. It's near McCowin park which has a really nice 9 hole course.

Cons:

1. Blue basket isn't level
2. Tees can be hard to spot
3. No variety in holes
4. Very short

Other Thoughts:

This was my first experience with a microcourse so I didn't really know what to expect. Technically they call this a 9 hole even though there's only three holes. Location is poor because of the surrounding neighborhoods. I think the idea of the microcourse has a chance, but this isn't how it should be done. Each hole is almost identical because the baskets really aren't that far apart.

Practice course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:May 1, 2012 Played the course:once

Pros:

Three tees for three baskets each which allows 9 hole course.

Creative way to put in a course in a small area

Cons:

Super small

Open, no obstacles anywhere really

Other Thoughts:

This isn't really a place to go and play if you're serious, but if you're teaching kids or want an open field to try different throws, this is a good option.
