Talk About Utilizing Space! drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 18, 2023 Played the course:once

Pros:

The tee signs has all the necessary info you'd look for: hole number, length, and course map (no next tee markings). Although some of the signs are beginning to show their age.

The mix of open and wooded fairways and greens, mixed with the meandering creek in play for quite a few holes made for some fun and challenging shots. *With my round sustaining 20+ mph winds I had a blast with shit selection.

I love the use of the property and incorporating as much of the elevation changes as possible - it's fun being able to take downhill lines and let the disc swoop out wide.

While the course is on the shorter, more intermediate side, it is a blast to play and a relatively easy track to navigate. There are "Next Tee" signs exactly where they're needed to help anyone on the course to get around without getting lost.

You can tell they take really good care of the course with the seemingly fresh cut fairways, proper walking paths (also freshly mowed), and tall grass/marshy areas being landscaped to fit the flow of the course and really carving out a lot of the fairways.

It's always nice to have benches and trash cans available for taking a break and having a snack, without worrying about forgetting to empty the trash from your bag when you get home.

Cons:

Natural tee pads have started eroding on a few holes, resulting in alternate natural pads to be formed.

Hole 9 or 10 doesn't have a tee sign. (Being a windy day and water in play, I didn't throw the hole, just walked it)

I didn't see any restrooms on site. It's not a huge deal, but it's always nice to know it's there for the occasional emergency.

Other Thoughts:

GPS coordinates put you in the middle of the road, the entrance is about a hundred yards before the ball field on the right.

Some of the holes play a bit longer than the posted lengths on the tee signs. Just a small heads up to those tracking scores.

There is a donation box if you have the want to give back to those who give their time to maintain the course.

Mostly just reconfirming what others said 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 22, 2018 Played the course:once

Pros:

Since other reviews are aging, I thought I would post really just to say all the reviews are still accurate.

Though some fairways are on the shorter side they are also quite narrow and hence challenging.

The course was mowed.

This course does have a different feel to it!

Other Thoughts:

Free to play but they do have a donation box. We felt a donation worth it, at a min, someone was still mowing!

A great course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Nov 15, 2016 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

The layout is very good, I do not think they could have done a better job given the size of the property they had to work with.
There is a great variety of holes, some tight wood shots, some open holes to show off your distance and some fun ace shots.
Every time I have played there the grass has been cut and and has very little garbage.
The river that goes through the park doesn't come into play too much, unless you have an errant shot. The good news is it is shallow and clear enough to retrieve lost discs.

Cons:

The teepads are mostly natural, though the first few have diamond dust. Hopefully they continue to work on them as some teepads are so bad I throw on one side or the other or behind them.
Minor complaint but the tee sign on hole 2 is not accurate at all. It is at least 50 feet further than it says.

Other Thoughts:

The soccer field is no longer used there, so they have taken down the nets and let the grass grow there. Maybe take the posts and old scoreboard down next?
Improve the teepads and take out the scoreboard and goal posts and this would get an even higher rating. Overall, this is a great course, especially considering there are so few courses near it.
We are hoping to start a local disc golf club, to help with projects like the ones I mentioned.

He really did use every inch of this park.. 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 23, 2014 Played the course:once

Pros:

Aesthetic-- plays through a large multi-use park, close to a soccer field and over walking paths. I don't think there's a huge opportunity for running into non-dgers but it's always possible

Teesigns-- great, accurate distances, except for #2 which was apparently in the long position?

Routing and nav-- not an issue. the trails and white posts helped to route you easily. #7 down the river was a pretty sweet hole.

Natural beauty-- playing this course on the river is an absolutely beautiful experience. It's a great chance to be one with nature.

Variety-- the amount of variety here is pretty staggering. the prairie holes, the water holes, tunnels. Did great to keep the holes at max length for the available land.

Baskets-- in great condition, the orange bands help to increase visibility.

Cons:

Challenge-- the shortness of the holes makes the challenge factor pretty low. The other risk v reward factors help to increase the challenge, but not significantly enough. Putter and mid territory for the most part at this course.

teepads-- dirt ruts with white posts mark the tees. some sort of permanent pad would be great.

Other Thoughts:

I can really appreciate all the work that went into this place and this course truly covers every square inch of available land in this park...

Very nice, well maintained course! 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 1, 2013 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

-Well maintained.
-Nice design for the most part.
-Easy to follow holes, with good signage.

Cons:

-The river. (only when you're not used to the course and a beginner like myself)
-Didn't really care for the 2 holes next to the soccer field, but they still weren't bad, just kind of close to it.

Other Thoughts:

I was on vacation and decided to head out there by myself after I read about it on here. I lost a disc in the river and jumped in and got it lol so it is possible to get it back, if you end up in there. I then lost my red wraith disc in the bushes and rough (because I'm colorblind and the red disc blended in) but then some nice local fellow came along, helped me find it and traded me for a nice blue pro destroyer because I could see it better. (Thank you again, if your reading this!) Nice course and some good helpful people out there. I will return anytime I'm in the area!

Par 3 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 15, 2012 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Easy to follow tees, good for a a beginner or for a family event. The river is only a foot deep but moves fast so a floating disc is gone if it hits the water. Quiet course with only disc golfers out there unless there is a soft ball game.

Cons:

Hole 5 and 6 is to close to the soccer field and the soccer net gets in the way. Some throne bushes in the way. Its hard to tell were to go after hole 4.

Other Thoughts:

The need to put up a few more signs, and maybe a sign on m55 and Dam to tell you were it is, but fun to play.

Glad to have some Here 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Dec 18, 2011 Played the course:once

Pros:

Pretty easy to follow. Was peaceful. Actually liked the natural pad with the snow on the ground. Liked 13 and 14 through the pines. Good mixature on holes. Good course to work on midrange and putter drives. little elavation

Cons:

Pretty short course but understand due to new sport in area. Water didn't really come into play unless you had a horrible throw. During normal conditions I don't see myself (rated 980) throwing a single driver out herein normal conditions. threw some firebirds due to wind . Also didn't like the two holes really close to the soccer field on front.

Other Thoughts:

Overall not a bad course and happy there is something to play up here. But like to see it in summer when i come back up.
