Enjoyable short course. 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Jul 9, 2013 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Good first course for the area. Not overwhelming, great course to learn on, nice baskets. Good after school activity to keep the kids out of trouble. Actually has some super tight, technical holes for the more advances players. Course designer has years of playing experience.

Cons:

Too short to be a legitimate tournament course, a tad on the easy side for better players. Poor signage.

Other Thoughts:

Overall it's a surprisingly fun course with just enough technicality to keep it fun for advanced players and beginners alike. Courses like this for me are more judged on the fun factor, and I have fond memories of this course. Also there is an athletic field on the walk back if you really want to rip a couple drives. Worth playing if passing through.

Pine River - Backus Schools DGC 2+ years drive by

Pros:

The tees are clearly marked orange wooden posts

Cons:

No course map or indication of where the next tee is.

Other Thoughts:

This is a very ordinary, flat course with some wooded 'fairways'. Most holes are very short, but trees provide a bit of challenge. If you are in the area and need a disc golf fix, this will take the edge off, but not really challenge skilled players.

Bring some bug spray as holes 3-6 are in the woods near a pond/stream. Ticks could be a problem.

Hole 1 is straight-forward 299 feet

Hole 2 spans a shallow valley and passes though a wide bottleneck of trees.

#3 is a short 162 feet starting the wooded section of the course. It winds around a stream/pond.

#4 continues through the woods, a very short 123 feet

#5 is another short (127 feet), wooded hole.

#6 tee is a lengthy walk from basket 5, through the woods, past an outdoor classroom or picnic area - bear left. the hole is still wooded and short - 195 feet.

#7 is back in the open field, 265 feet with a couple of pine trees protecting the basket.

#8 is also wide open with no abstacles, 289 feet.

#9 is located alongside the community/school garden and lands you next to the tee for #1. 255 feet
