Nice small town course 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Jan 25, 2021 Played the course:once

Pros:

Pretty good interesting holes. 2 over a creek. 1 up on an elevation. good use of the damn and the trees. Nice baskets and signs and pads. Need to use left and right long and shorts with some elevation for OK is good

Cons:

Holes 2-5 are pretty boring but rest are worth it.

Also if creek is flooded super long walk. 1 tee pad missing(odd)

Not that many play but several shots in middle are over other pads and fairways.

Other Thoughts:

If near here worth the stop

Tale of Two Halves 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 23, 2012 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

This course is well mowed and the signage is excellent. The tee pads are ample as well. The designer used what was available very well, like the lake and the big hill on #8. If you need to work on your wind game, then this is a good course to play on. There is also plenty of room to air out your drives on holes 3-8.
Here are the holes that stand out to me:

Hole #1 starts you off with a nice 240 ft shot, with the lake coming into play on your left hand side.
Hole #8 has an elevated basket and is a 320 ft shot with the lake to the right(be careful when the wind is out of the south!)
Hole #9 is a 185 ft shot with the lake to your left. Do you lay up for the par? or run the duece?
Hole #12 is mowed nicely on the left side of the fairway, but has thick rough to your right. Upon approach there is a sandplum bush that you must throw around to reach the basket.
Hole #15 is a 240ft shot that breaks hard to the right.
Hole #16 makes you tee off and shoot between two electrical poles, see the media section, with the lake to the left upon approach.
Hole #17 has a high pucker factor especially if the wind is out of the south. The lake is to your left. Again do you have the guts to go for it with your drive? or are you going to play it smart?

Cons:

A lot of the holes here are the grip and rip style of wide open hole. Holes 2-8 don't offer much in the way of obstacles, and several of those holes have not a single tree in play. Therefore there isn't much shade on this course. In the summertime the heat will surely be a factor. The wind blows often and very briskly in Western OK, so depending on which way the wind is out of and what hole you are on you will need to factor this into your game plan.
Upon my visit there were a lot of beer cans on the ground, by the tee boxes, and especially on holes 6 & 7 in the weeds. PICK UP YOUR TRASH PEOPLE.
It is possible to lose a disc in the weeds on holes 6 and 7, and obviously in the lake as well. Also upon my visit there were a lot of stickers on the ground, so be careful where you set you bag down. You could easily hit another park user when you are around the lake, so pay attention when you throw. More benches would be nice as there was only one upon my visit.
Holes 2-8 are too open for my liking and desperately need some trees planted in their fairways. I don't mind a couple of wide open holes, but it does get old after a while especially when you are throwing into the wind .

Other Thoughts:

This is a course that will make you learn to work at your wind game. The lake shots and holes 1, 12-17 were the highlights of this course. I wished the area east of holes 12-15 could have been used somehow. There were some woods in there where one could imagine some really cool holes being put into play. If I'm ever in the area again, I will stop at this course just so I can play the back nine(I would play the whole course again but the back nine is where the good discing is at IMO). As stated earlier this course would benefit from some tree planting, see holes 2-8, to add more challenge and to help block some of that strong Oklahoma wind.
I feel this course gets knocked down because of the openness of the front nine, and wanted to give it a 2.75. Being as that rating is impossible to give, I have decided on a 3.0 because a 2.5 is too low. The designer used what he had at his disposal the best that could have been done.
Great to see another course installed in Western OK and it isn't too far off of 1-40. Give it a shot if you are traveling thru the area.

Beautiful Lake : Good Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:May 11, 2012 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

The lake makes this course a treat! It comes into play on several holes. Lots of room to air it out. Some elevation changes one fairly extreme on hole 8. A couple of holes cross a valley at about 300 feet, the valley is deep but easy to cross and retrieve discs from. Back 9 has much more difficulty but is still fairly safe for beginners. Nice large tee pads with new baskets.

Cons:

Be careful on 17 as you can hit people down to the left of the road or loose your disc, it's down hill and blind and right next to the lake. The front 9 could use some more trees in play. No benches for rest.

Other Thoughts:

Put more trees in play on the front 9!!! Install benches every few holes at least. Excellent place for night rounds with good lighting around the lake and from a nearby ball park.

A beautiful and fun course! 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:May 13, 2012 Played the course:once

Pros:

-The course is set in a beautiful, well maintained park. The grass was mowed and the scenery was nice. There is a nice pond that slightly comes into play on a couple of holes as OB.

-There are well made tee box signs that have nice maps that clearly let you know where the basket is on every hole.

- The course is very clean which is surprising since there are very few trash cans near tees.

-There is some elevation change on the back 9 along with some right dog-legs to give the course a little bit of variety. It also has some long holes although a lot of them are pretty short.

-The flow is pretty simple and easy to figure out.

-The baskets and tee pads are nice.

-It's a relatively easy course that is pretty beginner friendly

Cons:

-The front 9 was a little too much like a lot of Oklahoma courses: long and wide open with no trees and little elevation change. More well placed trees could really make this course more interesting and challenging.

-There was only ONE bench at one of the tees. No big deal to some people but it's nice to be able to sit down during a long game.

-There is one hole, (I can't remember the number exactly. Maybe 13?), where the previous basket is almost in the fairway of the hole you are driving on and there is no indication of a mando. This could be pretty dangerous as people are likely to end up throwing pretty close to where others could be putting.

Other Thoughts:

Overall, this is a fun and attractive course. I would definitely play here again.
