Short game practice 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 2, 2012 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

This course is fairly good for the beginner and those who want to practice their short and mid-game throwing techniques. It progressively gets longer and more difficult as the holes continue, but nothing that would give a seasoned player much trouble.

Cons:

The lengths are not listed and the tee boxes are not well defined. Also with the area I think they could have squeezed in some more holes that would test your fundamentals.

Other Thoughts:

All in all this course is easy to find and perfect for a couple of short matches to work on your small game. The two holes at the end challenge your throwing by using change in elevation as well as distance. Overall a good course to get some practice.

Putter!!! 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 10, 2012 Played the course:once

Pros:

Great course for someone picking up the game. Short holes with nice baskets. Elevation and O.B. does come into play but, for the most part a putter and mid range course. The last two holes are a little bit longer, but hole 9 is the signature hole for the course.

Cons:

The teeboxes are with in 12 feet of the baskets. Some holes are teeing off toward the previous basket. Very short and not much use of the land that is available around the university.

Other Thoughts:

With the available land around the college you could put in a championship caliber course. It's awesome to see the City and University promote disc golf around the natural state.

Nicely kept pitch and putt 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:May 20, 2012 Played the course:once

Pros:

Some fun factor due to elevation and good use of the trees. Great learning or kids course as it progresses from very easy and short to a little longer and tougher. The "water hazards" were not a problem at all due to being very shallow. The distance progression was a nice touch, hole 1 was about 80-90 feet, ending with 8 and 9 which seemed 280-320 to me. Baskets were brand new and perfect, signs were nice. Fun ace run for sure with manicured grass and well kept equipment.

Cons:

Distances were not listed. Would most likely be a bit short for most looking for a challenge. No water source was readily apparent, and no obvious toilet. Natural tees, some of which were not at all level. Not wooded at all, so lots of sun, and not too far from a noisy highway.

Other Thoughts:

All in all, it was a fun little quickie. Would not be worth a long drive, especially since the awesomeness of Russellville is nearby. Bring the family or someone wanting to learn and just have fun on this little college pitch and putt.
