Pros:

1. 9 baskets
2. 9 tee signs
3. 9 concrete pads.
4. Nice view of lake.

Cons:

Here we go, this is a park that might be able to fit 5 holes, max. Too many hole jammed into a small space that would be almost impossible to play with more than two groups in the park at a time. I think that from hole 4's tee pad, you can see 4 different baskets, all of which you could mistake for the right basket. Like others have stated, a trailer park can be easily reached with an errant throw on holes 2-3. The lake itself shouldn't come into play, but there is a walking path that plays along one side of the course and you may have to wait for some walkers to move along before you tee off. If you live by the lake, you are probably used to the smell, but for others, a looming stench of fermenting goose poo and decaying fish guts lofting off of the lake. Flat.

Other Thoughts:

If you are looking to mark a course of the list, have at it. If you are looking to have an enjoyable disc golf experience, drive two minutes to Shawnee Bend.....10x better. It's right off of main Street, so it's pretty easy to find. Watch out for the lake in the right off hole one, it seems the wind always pushes discs towards it.

Great Beginner and Intermediate Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Nov 5, 2014 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

A great Beginner Flat Course with tree obstacles. I have played it numerous times and this is my Beginning Noob Course. On the Main Strip in town you will find Truman Lake Bike Shop, that has a wide variety of disc for sale. It beats not having any store that carries discs. Boundary markers on hole 2, 6, and 9 on trees. Stick to the left. Great Course Card holder and sign at the beginning with plenty of rules and signs about upcoming events for Disc Golfers there.

UPDATE: 4 has been set forward before the trees making it short, 6 has been moved to the right making it a small dogleg right, and 7 has been set farther back making it longer. Sign updates soon.

Cons:

Flat. 1 has a water hazard across the road, on the right (I have talked to some throwers who have lost disc there). RV park to the right of holes 2 and 3, the rail ties in the trailer park are out of bounds, leaving to question "Why?". You can literally hit a trailer on hole 3 if not careful. Still waiting to hear of someone throwing into the lake on 7 and 9, on the right. LOL that would be a BAD DAY. Skateboard park on hole 9 left side. Can be hit, It is out of bounds.

Other Thoughts:

Needs a Potty, and water fountain. Being in the lake region even the lake water looked good enough to drink. For a Great Park area, not enough amenities on the grounds, though lots of good amenities not far from park (i.e. downtown eateries and shops).

Waiting to see the new course on the lake by the dam and at Bucksaw Campground.

Good beginner course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Dec 16, 2012 Played the course:once

Pros:

Clean park, single-use (walking path goes around one side but it's OB), groomed grass, brand new DGA baskets, excellent teepads, very nice setting by a lake.

Close to the town square (lots of cutesy-wootsie shops) picnic areas, and a boat launch.

Cons:

Not much variety. It's a pancake-flat course sprinkled with mature but easy-to-avoid trees. Pretty much pitch-and-putt for adv players, barely worth the half hour it takes to play. Also the layout is pretty cramped - I threw to wrong baskets twice - and you have to walk #7 fairway back to front in order to reach the tee.

No benches, trash cans, bag hangers, plus there's an RV park just to the north of fairways 2 and 3, which presents a real danger of hitting someone's home if you can't control your drives.

Other Thoughts:

If you're new to the sport and live within striking distance, go here to learn how to play. It's really a good beginner's course, or if you're not a n00b you can practice your mid game - most holes are 250-350 and can be reached easily with a Roc, Buzzz, or whatever your favorite mid happens to be.

Me, I'll leave wifey to go shopping while I relax with a round or two of non-challenging, enjoyable golf.

Best in the Area 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 15, 2012 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Very well laid out course, I have played courses in Sedalia, Lebanon, and Springfield and this is by far the best course that I have played.

The well placed tee locations, trees and baskets make for some good risk reward holes.

The lake makes for a very good sight and to play by, and all in all a magnificent course.

Cons:

There is an RV Park on the bordering holes 2 and 3, but doesn't affect play

Pros:

I've only played 2 other courses, and so far this is by far the best. Nice and shaded and well layed out. Flanked by the Lake of the Ozarks on the west side. Excellent signage. Picnic tables are available.

Cons:

Flanked by an RV park on the east side.
