- set in a water retention area that has standing water and is probably frequently muddy
- no tee signs/tees

- lots of risk of hitting nearby houses
- no dedicated parking area
- no obstacles of any kind
- completely flat

Not much more to say here... this is a practice area, not a real course. If you live in this subdivision, having baskets in an otherwise not very useful retention area is great for some practice. However, I can't imagine why you would come here otherwise. Nothing but a wide open field with some baskets at various points, and the points they chose for baskets are closer to houses than I'd like.

Note that your GPS may direct you to a cul-de-sac near the park - you can NOT park here. You have to park on one of the main streets and walk over. Unless you're looking for some practice, there's not much to do here. Watch out for mud; the whole point of this area is to collect all of the neighborhood's excess water so outside of drought it's going to be spotty.

It would be cool if I had this when I lived in a townhome, but otherwise this isn't going to do much for you. There's an argument to be made for this getting a half star, but others I've given a half at least are at a school or something, away from houses. This isn't a course, it really is a practice setup for this neighborhood, so rated against real courses I'm giving it a true zero.

1) 5 more baskets to be used and show people what the game is all about.
2) Discatchers again are visible baskets and well built.
3) Played one way will work on one type of throw and then turn around and go the other way and you can work on the opposite throw. I suppose you could also throw across the tall grass to make it more interesting, but that would make for some long walks.
4) Minor elevation on a couple of the baskets. The rollaway won't be extreme but it might help on uphill and downhill putting technique.

1) Long distance holes . . .not so beginner friendly.
2) Some baskets are dangerously close to some of the houses.
3) No marking for tees so this cannot really be considered a course unless you just play from basket to basket.
4) No obstacles to worry about. Just don't hit a house or turn one over into the tall grass in the middle.
5) I imagine this place is flooded in non 100 year droughts such as what we have been in for the entire year.
6) Nothing irks me more than using distance alone as the only challenge on a course.
7) Grass teepads are always a negative.

This isn't really a course with no teepads and no set place to throw from. You can make up your own course throwing from basket to basket including throwing across the wetland/tall grass area, but this just doesn't cut it. I still think it deserves 1/2 a disc because it is usable. Many people disagree with this philosophy but it is completely playable. I reserve the 0 disc rating for courses that are virtually unplayable or in disrepair to the point of needing to be removed.

There are 5 baskets scattered around the edges of a large grass field. A few of them are tucked up near the houses with some scattered mature trees. There are a couple minor elevation changes in play, nothing that makes much of a difference but you can practice some elevated putts off a small hill by one of the baskets, and mildly uphill approaches to another. There's plenty of distance between the baskets, you can open up and throw drivers here. Playing clockwise offers some left turning lines, you can play the other way to work on right curving shots.

There are no tees and no real obstacles, so rating this against all the courses I've played puts it down at the bottom. It's a decent practice area though, especially for working on distance lines and learning to throw drivers in the wind. A few of the holes are too close to houses, and if you're throwing from one basket to the next it brings other houses and a parking lot into play. The central area of the field has long grass, eliminating the option to throw across the field between baskets rather than just going around the edge.

This is a nice warmup for the course across the street, and I would love to have open space with practice baskets right out my back door. Don't come here looking for a real round of disc golf, but it's a good place for working on specific driving skills or to just find a place to putt that's not on a course.
