Endless Monotony 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 24, 2014 Played the course:once

Pros:

-Baskets that are in nice shape and catch quite well
-The elevation available on the course is used pretty well. Several baskets are placed in depressions and there are some uphill and downhill shots.
-Nice sign with a map (of the front nine at least) at the start and a board stating the rules of the game, which is a nice touch for a school course.
-Lots of ace runs
-A couple longer holes which is nice for the people with bigger arms.

Cons:

-Very hard to navigate. Post mark the holes but they only have a hole number on the post (at least on the front nine, the back nine are just white posts without even a number on them). Some long walks between a couple holes too.
-It can also be hard to know which basket you are throwing to because there can be up to about four in the general area. I had to walk up to most baskets to find out which one was which. It would be really nice to have tee-signs to know which basket to throw at and a general layout of the hole.
-The land on the course is very boring. There are not a lot of trees and the majority of challenge comes from the elevation gain. Holes are mostly straight ahead and short and get really boring really quickly.
-The majority plays really close to the school and there are a lot windows that could easily be hit or knocked out. Also, if other people are around there are a few dangerous holes.
-While a couple holes are longer, other than those two or three holes, there is very little variation in distance and it helps add to the repetitiveness of the course.
-The back nine on this course are terrible. It can be hard to tell where to tee from for the back nine. Plus the back nine wind right back through all of the fairways for the original nine and there are a lot of cases of crossing fairways and baskets really close to each other. If anyone else is on the course, this could get very dangerous.
-Lots of tall, itchy grass and sagebrush that can eat discs.
-The tee-pads are terrible. They really don't exist, it's just a slightly worn spot of dirt next to a post and footing can be terrible.

Other Thoughts:

Overall, this course is a mess. I feel like a lot of the problems have to do with the back nine. The back nine are crammed in with the front nine and aren't any different from the front nine, which makes for a very repetitive and boring 18 holes. This course would have been a lot better if they had just left it as a 9 hole course. Don't go out of your way to play this course, it is definitely not worth it.

Fun little mountain course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 14, 2012 Played the course:once

Pros:

Interesting hole placements
Blind shots
Large variation in lengths

Cons:

back nine not numbered
Not a lot of obstacles
Back nine tee box are just white poles.

Other Thoughts:

I liked the course. The first two holes were blind back side of the hill holes.
When you play the first nine watch for pole locations. It seems like they all have poles. Sign says it is a par 4 course and there are a couple holes that might be true of, but 13 is a SHORT hole!!! (maybe 50ft) But it had a couple that might have been 400 so I liked the variation, much like a golf course that has a little tiny par 3.
Not bad for the resources they had. (It was designed by the 7th graders)

Pros:

Easy to get to, right off of 40 in the center of Granby.
It has 18 baskets....thats about it.

Cons:

Some of the dirt tees are pretty crappy. A lot of the signs for the tees and the number signs on the baskets are missing. Making it hard to tell where your shooting sometimes.

Other Thoughts:

Quick little course to play along 40.
