northside narrows offers many pros is regards to controlled disc flight. Sprinkled in with that is few holes you can really lace into and air out. Liberal pars offer a non discouraging experience in terms of the tight fairways. Peaceful and serene, you'll likely have the course to yourself. T signs on every hole give you hole #, par and flight path and i believe length. Poison Ivy free. this is a course that will only make you a better golfer.

A few holes left me winded needing to take a breath or two before throwing, but for every up hill is the other side down. a few t boxes are sketchy when wet and you may be better off throwing from the dirt. perhaps the thing i desired most was a little thinning of the outside fairway, rough. Shorter holes seemed to be slightly bias to RHFH.

northside narrows is a true testament of the ball busting hard work it takes to provide additional courses in new england. The designer has dedicated countless hours in making the course what it is now. it could be a little demanding on younger kids but hardly a challenge for outdoorsy people. Two
memorable holes, one being a long down hill tunnel with the driveway being the fairway, as well as the elevated powerline bomb. while par is fairly attainable it will require well placed t shots and executed putting. Tones are well paired to the particular holes placed on. you'll be entertained walking between holes by the two catnipped cats on the course. Some fairway tlc, remaining baskets, and few safer T boxes will jump this course to Excellent. Cant wait to play round 3, 4...

The course weaves through mixed regrowth forest with it's low point marked by a clear mountain stream and it's high point by a broad powerline clearing offering views and some contrast to the forest.

There are a nice mix of two shot par 4's which are targeted toward a 900-950 rated player and total 7 in number. The par 3's are all duec-able and are also geared towards amateur players with most par 3's logging in between 180 and 280 feet. The one exception is a top of the world shot of over 500 feet slightly down hill and parkable for someone with 400 foot power.
This and another 500 foot shot straight down the gravel road are memorable signature-esque holes.

There are a few options throughout the course where players can play a shorter or longer version of the hole or layout. There is a water source which players pass twice as well as a pair of outhouses.

Virtually no wet areas and very few weedy areas where one can lose a disc. This is the only 18 hole course past Norway in this part of Maine.

Many holes are unfinished, in that there are some extra trees, small greens, and very punishing rough.

The tee pads are a grab bag and while some are pretty decent flat areas with carpet others border on unsafe for much of a runup. I only have 10 baskets so there are 8 tone poles to complete the 18. There is a slight imbalance in variety of holes with not quite enough RHBH hyzers. The vertical elevation gain throughout the course will be a con if you are not up for a vigorous hike. A few splitter trees exist which I either haven't gotten to or which I'm undecided about.

This is my baby, and is a work of progress. This was season one and while I'm happy to have an 18 hole course in the ground I am ambitious to continue to make improvements.

By next year I hope to have a series of new holes in the upper part of the property, much improved tee pads, a long and short version for most holes, and further improved fairways. Thanks for checking out North Side Narrows!
