Both field and forest holes. Varied with short and long tee options. Fun holes and basket placements. Varied distance in field area and different fairway shapes in the woods. Two true downhill shots and three uphill. Nothing repetitive or clique as far design goes. Basket #9 is near tee #1.

Best played in spring or fall. The wooded part of the course is a jungle during the summer. Getting off the fairways is even worse. Pavement and chain link fence in play in a couple spots. Navigation tricky between #6 and 7.

Close to Chetek, Rice Lake and Barron, where there are also good courses.

This is a challenging nine hole course in an area that doesn't have too many courses nearby. The layout offers some nice long, open holes as well as some shorter, tighter fairways that play through the woods. There are some decent elevation changes with a couple of the baskets on hillsides.
Currently, there are no maps on the tees or markers at the baskets indicating where the next tee box is. The tee boxes are just colored bricks marking the box area. but unlike some natural tee boxes, these are all level and clear of roots.
The course plays around a school, so it's occasionally unplayable.
There is OB baseball fields, walking paths, parking lots, and some pretty thick brush in the woods, all offering a nice challenge.
Not having maps on the tees, markers at the baskets, and hard to see tee boxes might make it difficult for people not familiar with the course to navigate from hole to hole. But, the course is fairly small, so this isn't a huge issue.
All in all this is a fun, challenging course that compliments the property it's built on. Players will enjoy the long holes, the tight fairways, the elevation changes, and the mix of shots required for this course. The woods are pretty unforgiving, with thick brush and tall grass. This a fun course now and has a high replay value, the designer is always thinking of new ideas for the course so it's likely to improve in the future.

A good mix of long and short holes give you plenty of room to grip and rip and also chances to work on accuracy. Having two sets of tees will add to the replay value.

The first five holes are pretty open, and the last four play in the woods.

NOTE: all hole info will be based on long tees, since not all holes have short tees in place yet.

Hole 1: 342 ft.
A nice starting hole where you can be rewarded with a deuce if you throw an accurate drive. Plenty of trees between tee and basket with o.b. baseball field on the right and some thick woods on the left.

Hole 2: 465 ft.
A long anhyzer throw for RHBH. Same o.b. baseball field as the first hole on your right for the entire length of the hole. Pin placement is on a steep hill making for tough approaches and possible rollaways when putting.

Hole 3: 522 ft.
Longest most open hole on the course, also the most flat. Blacktop walking path behind basket plays o.b.

Hole 4: 339 ft.
Blind tee shot with pin tucked behind a large pine. Plays uphill and to the right. Probably my favorite hole out of the first five.

Hole 5: 408 ft.
Pretty open tee shot, uphill the whole way.
Take a right into the woods after this basket to find hole six.

Hole 6: 219 ft.
First hole in the woods and might be the easiest one too. Swampy area on the right really shouldn't come into play unless you get a really bad kick.

Hole 7: 258 ft.
This one's tricky. Takes a sharp turn right about 100 ft. off the tee then straightens up for the last 150 ft. Thick woods on the left, better to be right then left I think. Already lost a couple discs on the left side.

Hole 8: 183 ft.
Pin's downhill and to the left guarded by a few birch trees.

Hole 9 363 ft.
Tough finishing hole. This hole more than any other would be best played from the path. Straight tee shot followed by a good upshot through the trees should give you a chance at a 3.
A two on this hole would be something to remember!

The biggest con at this course would have to be the thickness of the woods. If you get off the path it can be very hard to find your disc. That being said this is a new course and I'm sure more work will be done to help clear out thorns and thick undergrowth on the holes in the woods.

Mosquitos can also get pretty annoying since there is a swamp near to a few holes.

Signage is nonexistant at this point, just look for bricks in the ground that mark the tees.

Can't play during school hours or when practices are taking place.

This course is practically brand new. More work do be done in the future I'm sure. Navigating will be much easier once tee signs are up.

I would definately print off the map if playing for the first time. The walk from 7's basket to the tee for 8 can be tough to figure out without the map. Otherwise the flow is pretty easy to follow.

For a 9 hole course I would have a tough time giving out more than a 4. This one gets a 3 from me with maybe a 3.5 down the road depending on how much improvements are made.
