Medina's Long Lost Cousin 2+ years

Pros:
Pier-Lon park is a large campground, that has a small course winding through the property. Lots of things to do on site (Swimming Beach, game room, etc.)
This is the long lost cousin that Medina doesn't even know exists. Tucked on the outskirts of Medina, Pier Lon's disc golf course gives you something to do while camping.
Nice tee signs on every hole. Descriptive with a map of the hole, par, and distance.
Baskets catch well, and are pretty easy to spot.
There's a couple interesting holes that'll scare you s little. #4 plays right over the lake.
Good for beginners (except #4). Good activity to stay active at the campground.
Well maintained, grass is cut all the way down.

Cons:
Well, the course was designed very poorly. #1 and #3 baskets literally sit 10 feet from each other. There are a few long walks between holes.
The first three holes play through a playground area. The place was abandon when I was there, but I imagine it would be dangerous during the summer months.
Not much challenge here. There's a couple of 300+ foot holes, but they aren't all that difficult.
I was able to sneak in by parking near the street (don't tell mom). I've heard that the course is only open to campers, but you could probably pay a fee to get in.
Natural tees, with only one set.
A couple baskets have poison ivy and underbrush right behind them.
#6 is very very strange. No line to the basket, just throw it towards the trees and hope it pops through
No trash cans or benches.
No pets are allowed on the course anymore, there are signs everywhere so I imagine they're pretty strict with the rule.

Other Thoughts:
I wouldn't drive away from the great courses closer to downtown to play here. You're better off playing Roscoe and Masi about 15 minutes away. If you're camping here, go for it. But don't go out of your way to play here.

Pros:
This is a nice course playing around a lake,a creek, and a very nice campground. Pier-Lon is a better than averege campground course in Medina. I really like how water comes into play on holes 4,5, and 6. Holes vary in length from as short as 118 and long as 385. I played this course alot while camping and didnt get boring. The design is decent and really takes advantage of trees and water on the property. Baskets are nice and there are tee signs on every hole. There are many other activities on site such as swimming and boating. Holes 4-6 are a fun stretch of holes playing by water and through a small pine woods. Course was in nice shape.
Cons:
The main problem on the course for me was navigation. I had a hard time finding hole 4-6 which are about 450 ft. from #3. The natural teeboxes got very muddy during the rain, so I had to tee off from the sides. Grass was a little thick on the right side of #5 and had to look 10 minutes for my disc. The course is really short, and won't pose a huge challenge for advanced players.
Other Thoughts:
A nice course for all skill levels. The campground is easily the best in Medina County, if not the best in northeast Ohio.
HOLE BREAKDOWN:
Hole 1: A good length par 3 into a grove of pine trees.
Hole 2: A par 4 that forces you to either curve around a large tree or shoot under it.
Hole 3: A dogleg left into another grove of pine trees.
Hole 4: A safe shot would put you down a hill with a long, but clear 2nd shot. A risky shot would be to shoot over lake and be close to basket for a possible eagle.
Hole 5: Plays alongside tall grass and thick trees. Lake on right, tall grass on left.
Hole 6: A fun hole that plays along side the lake and into a small pine woods. Try to keep disc on right side of fence.
Hole 7: The shortest hole on the course is a putter drive hole and a solid ace opportunity.
Hole 8: Another short par 3 where the basket is very close to a large tree.
Hole 9: A long par 4 makes you shoot a low shot underneath the branches of the tree. Can be an easy birdie if you play your second shot correctly.
