Pros:

Good mix of hole length for a 9 hole. Hole 9 is a really long par 3 and this course gives you the chance to pull out some drivers. Good mix lefty/righty holes. Has tee signs with number which helps with navigation. Two fun shots over the lake.

Cons:

Tee signs are backwards on most holes.
Natural pads
This should have been a begginer 9 with eagle right down the road however there's two holes over 250 throwing over water and a very long hole 9
Baskets our okay but showing age.
Typical 9 hole course

Other Thoughts:

I don't say this often but what is the attended audience here? With eagle right down the road they should have made a begginer or warm up 9 hole. The two lake shots are cool but not where I want to take new players. If that's the case I would go to the other emporia courses. This 9 hole isn't bad by any means but with so many other options in area I wouldn't go here again

Nice beginner course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 10, 2012 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Great beginner course, never busy, new baskets, easy to navigate and play. Will not be too hard for less experiences players but even good players will enjoy some of the shots required to play this course. Park is maintained and mowed often.

Cons:

Dirt tee pads, ground has small wavy topography. Not a big deal but it's kind of odd and annoying to walk on. Signage is less than stellar, not all have tee numbers and some are even labeled wrong but it's a newer course and still a work in progress I hope in this area. Not real hard of a course and even though there are two water holes they are redundant and not great for the beginner layout. Many holes simply require a hyzer line around some trees to score well but again it's more of a beginner course. Almost always wide open and windy.

Other Thoughts:

I love driving down here and playing this course when there are tourneys in the emporia courses. It's never busy but always a small challenge with the wind. I hope they get teepads installed and then this is a 3-4 star course. It's just a fun place to play a casual round and enjoy the park. Great kid friendly area.
