Lovely in the dry, slick in the wet

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 27, 2023 Played the course:once

Pros:

A mix of open holes, tunnel shots, tree paths with low ceiling demands.
Mostly short holes, but a couple of fun challenges with length and tunnels. #5 is a low ceiling shot with some trees and a good distance. And hole 6 is probably the signature hole with a tree lines tunnel shot that breaks right.
Good location in southwest Glasgow in a lovely park.

Cons:

Safety with the crossing paths is probably the biggest concern. Several holes play along the walking path and others require throws directly over the path with limited sight lines.
Tee pads are a mix of artificial turfs, several of which are very slick when wet. Several of them are short, limiting runups.
Several tee signs are missing or are worn to illegibility and no signs between holes. Not an issue for those holes in the open, but several are blind shots or have some routing where the online map is recommended.

Other Thoughts:

A nice park setting. Check out the river between holes 6 and 7 or behind hole 1. Some playground equipment for the kids in the middle of the park.
The parking lot beside the hospital is currently under construction with limited parking spaces. Take care and be flexible with parking in the lot or along the street.
Short course, I finished 9 in around 35 min with getting lost a couple of times, enjoying the scenery, and speaking with some of the park users.

First Course in Glasgow to kickstart the sport in the area 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Mar 27, 2017 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Short 9 hole course with some technical holes. Hole 6 'The chamber' is one of the best and hardest on the course. The course constantly changes with the seasons, winter is the easiest time to play and the summer brings lots of bushy trees and vegetation growth to hide your discs.

Cons:

Some of the tees are grass which can get slippy after rain. A few OB areas are covered in brambles which can be a nightmare to get discs back

Other Thoughts:

Alternative 9 has been laid out by the local club (Glasgow Disc Golf Club) find them on FB for more information or to arrange a game

very low cut grass means this is a perfect roller course.
good beginner course, with some good tree obstacles.

Cons:

jogging track near/on/in fairway on some holes

Other Thoughts:

in the middle of a beautiful garden / park with lots of flowers and even a bunch of blackberries to snack on (dont tell the queen i ate her berries!)
