Wind is gone time to play! 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Nov 21, 2011 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

This was an actual decent course. Course was easy to follow with some challenges along the way. This is a pretty big park. Everything was maintained.

Cons:

When you are coming up to the course you may notice a water way running through the middle of the park. Be careful on how you are lining up your shot. Things may get a lil wet. As I played the course I have noticed that some holes are a little to easy. Can easily get a really good score.

Other Thoughts:

Even though I am a traveling worker. I would like to see more improvement on the layout of the course. You can easily bypass the layout for a better score and still be in play.

Simple and Fun 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 8, 2011 Played the course:once

Pros:

Easy simple course, great for beginners who have just gotten into the game. Course is nice and well maintained. A couple of hole are decently challenging but won't overwhelm you.

Cons:

It is fairly easy to throw your disc in the water if you aren't careful. The holes seemed to favor right handed backhands or left handed flicks making it somewhat unbalanced. The course was also very small and seems like it can overcrowd very easily.

Other Thoughts:

This course is nice and beginner friendly. It would be nice to see it made into and 18 hole course but i don't see how that could be possible with how small the park is. This course won't provide any super tough challenges but it almost makes you go back to the very basics which isn't always such a bad thing.

Nice for a quick 9 over your lunchhour 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jan 19, 2010 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Well maintained park with baskets in good shape. Good for beginner to intermediate players, or for working on your upshots. Course flow is pretty logical. Holes have some minor degree of challenge getting between and around trees, but aren't overwhelming. Rarely crowded, and for the most part, the holes don't come in contact with the other amenities in the park. If the assigned layout is a bit underwhelming, provides some nice safari hole action where you can bring more water into play.

Cons:

No permanent tees and sometimes gets muddy around both the tees and pins. Longest holes are only 312'. Advanced players will probably find it a bit underwhelming for anything more than approach practice. Water is in play, but you're going to have to really screw up to find it. Park geese on hole 7 are sometimes in the way. Still a multiuse park and sometimes pedestrians cross the course.

Other Thoughts:

Basically, your standard small town, nine holer. I've heard rumors about concerning expansion of this course, but nothing concrete. I've seen better, and I've certainly seen worse. This is what I call a good lunch hour/exercise course as you can probably complete a round in under 25 minutes. You can leave the bag in the car and probably get by with a midrange and putter. Nothing special, but not far off the interstate and restaurants nearby. You can come here afterwards to burn off the calories.

McPherson 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Jul 16, 2009 Played the course:once

Pros:

Very nice setting, in old established city park, a pond in the middle, with many mature trees. Ducks/Geese strolling around course by the water. Lush grass throughout, and is regularly maintained/mowed. Holes are straight-forward.

Cons:

Nearly impossible to get into any trouble. Holes are all short distance with little obstacle other than trees.. Could have utilized the pond better in making it hazardous, and/or had a hole requiring players to drive over the water. Tee boxes are dirt, hole signage looks like it was hand-done in crayon, has faded with time, with hole number designations scrawled in black ink on weathered plastic by hand as well.

Other Thoughts:

Very peaceful low-traffic 9-hole course.

Lakeside 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Nov 26, 2008 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Easy to follow course without needing a map. Great for a quick 9 holes.

Cons:

Turnovers will put your disc in water. A "righty" course for sure.

Other Thoughts:

Beautifully maintained. Nice folks in Kansas! A bulletin board would be nice. I was from out of state and was hoping to meet up with locals.

Pros:

Well maintained lush grass, no rough, water holes. Good signs, easy to play. Good design testing all shots.

Cons:

Not very long or tough. Grass tees.

Other Thoughts:

Pleasant walk in the park, bring just a few discs. Don't worry about the ponds, hardly in play.
