Relatively easy & fast, city park setting puts it in walking or biking distance for a lot of people. Three wooded holes, two of which are moderately challenging, add variety. Nice wildlife with occasional deer, hawks, etc.

A couple of fairways are tight against each other. Ravine in woods makes a steep climb to retrieve an errant disc on two holes.

Great course for beginners, families and seniors.

- FUN FACTOR - I think the best thing going for Telulah is its easy going feel. Birdies can be had by Novice level players and the rough is rarely, if ever, oppressive. It's near impossible to lose a disc and the searches will likely conclude in 10 seconds or less. I do wish there were more benches to rest at. I only saw one log improv bench at tee (5).
- NAVIGATION AND SIGNAGE - A nice updated course map is located between the parking and tee (1) and this is when I realized that the epic wooded areas along the river's edge weren't going to be used. Anyways, once getting to (1) there are adequate tee posts sporting a number and distance. For this type of layout, where the baskets can generally be seen, they work. There are also a few directional signs between holes. I had zero issues navigating this course.
- BASIC AMENITIES - In addition to the signage, the course has adequate tees and baskets. The tees are concrete and measure ten feet long if I recall correctly. The baskets are MachIIIs and still catch well. There are also bonus things in the park like picnic shelters and restrooms too.
- BEGINNER FRIENDLY - This is a solid option to bring a first timer too. Two thirds of this course is forgiving park style. The wooded 3-hole stretch will give newbies a taste of simple wooded play.
- QUICK PLAY - Easy to conquer in under 30 minutes for first time solos and then they can be off to bag the next course. The course plays in a loop as well, so choosing to do a second nine will be a seamless endeavor.
- MAINTENANCE - The grass was mowed and there was no trash. Seems like a well-tended kind of park.

- MINIMAL HOLE VARIETY - I thought this was the only sub-par aspect that significantly impacted my score for the course. I really liked the dynamic of the three holes in the woods, but after that, the rest of the course falls flat. The remainder of the holes are all run-of-the-mill park style holes with minimal variation. I found myself just looking at the distance and then without much thought, attempted to chuck a disc that distance. The last four holes are very anticlimactic.
- FLAT - In addition sub-par hole variety, the elevation change here is mild at best. One will only feel it once on the tee shot on (3), which is about 10 feet down. After that, most holes change by only one or two feet.
- LACK OF CHALLENGE - A tweener between a Rec and Novice level course. Two thirds of the course require no technical skills. The three wooded holes are all very short that many will just throw a putter or a half speed driver to get some skip turn movement. I played terrible and finished at even par. I tree aced several holes. I bet there are several locals that have thrown nine down here.
- SAFETY HAZARDS - Players will need to be aware of a couple things. First, discs will be able to find other fairways. Telulah doesn't have horrible hole to hole spacing, it's just tight in spots and numerous fairways are undefined without tree buffers. Second, a park road needs to be crossed after holes (2) and (5), and there are additional park roads in play on a couple other holes. Third, be careful if a disc goes long on (4). The terrain on (4) drops off quickly 20 feet past the fairway. It is about 10 feet down in grade and onto a train track. Overall, this is a very minor issue.

I never played the old layout, but I want to believe that the new rendition is an improvement since it has incorporated three holes in the heavy woods. For a niner, there aren't too many weaknesses with this course. Other than the sup-par hole variety, I thought the course did well in the other key aspects. This course obviously won't dethrone Plamann in Appleton, but it's still a nice stop if looking for an easy going round or wanting to stay low key. Also great for new players and for those looking to practice in the neighborhood.
- NATURAL BEAUTY - I scored this aspect about 45 percentile. As noted in the pros, the maintenance of this place is a big beauty positive. The three wooded holes help as well. The lack of substantial elevation in play, no water, no backdrop views and a general lack of wow factor kept me from scoring this aspect any higher. It's a nice park and all, just nothing special.

Telulah is one of two 9ers on the Fox River around Downtown Appleton

Nowadays the Discgolf at Telulah is aimed to be Family Friendly. Besides Kaukauna Elementary, it's the easiest DGC in the Valley

Telulah Park is a beautiful and maintained city park in downtown Appleton that features running trails, a skate park, baseball fields, soccer fields, and a disc golf course. There is a large parking lot by a small pavilion in the back side of the park. This is the closest lot to hole 1 on the course.

There is a practice basket near the course sign. Hole 1's tee pad is right next to the practice basket. Each hole features concrete pads which is a plus. It was pretty easy to determine which basket lined up with each hole once you got on the pad. Each hole featured a tee sign attached to a pole to help navigate directions to the target and distances in feet.

The course itself is relatively flat and straight-forward. It's easy enough to bring new players here and let them learn how to play the game. I saw a few families out here with little kids enjoying disc golf together... which was great! Some holes were wide open and straight out, others had some strategic trees lined up and in play. It was a good mix.

It looked like some new trees were planted aligning each hole tee pad to the basket. I imagine in a few years when those trees mature, it's going to completely change the look of this place and you're going to see many more players come out to this course.

Hole 1 was a little midrange hyzer shot. Hole 2 took you down more than 300 feet into a tree-protected green. Holes 3,4,5 were pretty much straight on shots in the 250-300 foot range. Holes 6 and 7 headed up towards the skate park. Hole 8 was a long, downhill shot to a basket perched in front of a wood-line (this was my favorite hole on the course). Hole 9 took you back towards hole 1.

The park had a decent amount of people in it when I played. Some were running, some playing ultimate, some skaters, and a few people doing some Spartan style training. Everyone played well with everyone else so it was a cool mix!

There isn't much here to challenge an intermediate to pro player. It's a pretty straight forward course. Rec players like me could benefit from using this course to try different shots and practice different wind angles.

Hole 9 kind of bothered me. First off, my first choice of shot was a huge sky hyzer off to the right side of the trees but this took me right over the playground (with little kiddies) and the parking lot. I didn't throw the shot but it definitely looked appealing. The course could probably use a mando here.

Also the practice basket looks like an obvious target from the tee pad of hole 9. I actually putted into it until I realized I went to the wrong spot lol.

There's probably enough room in this park for more holes if they ever chose to expand. There was a lot more room past hole 8 and maybe even down in the woods.

Right now, this course is a great place to warm up and bring new players into the sport. In the next few years, once the trees start to mature in the hole 3,4,5 area, this place will become much more challenging.

If you're in the Appleton area and are looking for a place to get a quick round in, swing by and check it out. There's a cool locomotive by the entrance too!

It's a nice short course that can be played quickly and is an excellent opportunity to teach younger players the game. It's very flat and you can accurately gauge the distance of your putters and midranges as you go for aces.

It won't challenge intermediate players at all, and was not even much of a challenge for an older player who no longer has the distance he once had.

Just because it's easy and short doesn't make it bad. It's great for new discers and experimenting with your game or just trying to throw a quick round before it get's dark or storms. Going here to warm up and then heading to Plamann or Grignon or any 18 hole course is a usual for me and my friends, never had an issue with this course

The first time I played this course was 2009. It was 18 holes of mostly wooded technical shots with a decent amount of elevation changes. It was a great course! I returned in 2014 to find that is has been totally changed. What it has been turned into is just a shame. It is now a flat 9 hole beginner course. I'm sure the designers did what they could but it is sad to see a gem turn into just another park with some baskets.

Its flat, straight, and to the point.
Great for ace runs, and getting to know a new disc. Beginner course for sure, maybe a course for moderate players.

Its all straight throws, which makes it too easy. If you are a seasoned player, you will get bored of this course easily. If you happen to be in the area, that's the only reason to stop at this place.

There's no way your losing your disc here. Its really flat, and straight forward. Since the course was redone, it no longer goes into the woods down along the river, meaning no lost discs. All you really need is a driver and a putter, it's that short. I would only come here if you happen to be in the area and want to play something different or are passing by.

A few mature hardwood trees come in play, and provide at least a few obstacles.

Navigation is easy enough, as there's nothing hidden here.

Decent catching baskets.

It's flat as a pancake. Really nothing here that would make me want to come back, other than ace runs.

Most holes are pretty short, which is nice for beginners, but doesn't offer much for better players.

This is a relatively boring course, but is decent for beginners. There's a lot of nice woods around the fringes of the course that would be ideal for a really nice course, but unfortunately they're not utilized.

If you're into bagging courses and happen to be close, it's worth a spin, I guess. I definitely wouldn't go out of my way to play it again, though.

There are good concrete tees on each hole that are perfectly adequate for the holes here. There's a practice basket. The baskets are Mach 3's that are in good shape and catch well. this is always nice to see. The course is pretty much completely flat with the large mature trees and wind being your main challenge. The flow of the course is easy to follow. There are signs by each hole with your basic hole info. There are restrooms in a building by hole eight but they were locked as of late October. The course was very well mowed and maintained when we were there.

I can see this course being very busy in summer. The holes are all pretty similar feeling. Not a lot of variation in distances. the park road and some walking trails also run near a few holes.

If you're nearby it's worth a round or two. Especially with there being a number of other fun courses nearby to make for a great day of disc golfing. By itself though it's just your average city park course.

Not overly crowded. Good beginner course. The design allows good practice for basic shots. Good place to practice long drives for beginners. Easy course to follow.

Few obstacles. Not a lot of variation for the holes. If you are a serious disc golfer and live further than 20 minutes from the course, it's not worth the drive.

Being new to disc golf, I found it very easy to throw a lot of rounds here. This course helped me improve my fundamentals. Anyone looking to improve with their putt and midrange discs this would be a good spot and I would recommend this course to anyone learning the game. I would not recommend this course to the serious disc golfers.

Telulah Park is a great beginner course and seems to be fairly popular with locals as there were quite a few groups playing when I was here.

It's short, flat and wide open with an occasional mature trees to navigate. There is a practice basket, tee signs, concrete tees and a practice basket. The holes are very short and only one hole is over 300ft.

The course is short and wide open.
No shot variety.
No risk/reward.
Safety concerns:
• Walking path comes into play on one hole.
• One hole is set up so a poor RHBH shot that hyzers out early could endanger people on three different holes.
• One hole could be a bit too close to the parking lot for a beginner course.

This is a great place to take beginners and is good for locals who want to get in a quick round. Don't go out of your way to play here. If you're looking for a challenge, Rolling Ridge is the best course in the area just 35 min away.

There still is a course. It's better than not having a disc golf course. Perhaps a decent practice or beginner course.

The challenge is gone without having any elevation or wooded holes. Everything is in the open with the only challenge being the possibility of some trees and hitting some vehicles parked in the parking lot with a drive on hole #1.

Basket #1 is not in a good location, with the parking lot right beside it and the chance of a disc hitting any cars coming/leaving the parking lot. Other 18 hole courses in the area are better options. If you're looking to get in a quick 9 holes with little challenge, this is now it.
