Not a course, it's a putting range. 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 23, 2017 Played the course:once

Pros:

Grounds are well kept, baskets surround a nice pond, if you're able to utilize them it would make for some pleasant putting practice.

Cons:

Not really a disc golf course at all, more several baskets put up, very close together, with RVs too close to them. I can see where the RV Park's head was at, but advertising this as a course is really disingenuous.

You can putt here, but unless you found yourself the only person at the RV Park you could never really play. Even then, you wouldn't exactly be challenged as the whole grounds looks to be around 400' in diameter.

Short Course - Beautiful Resort 2+ years

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Apr 6, 2014 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Beautiful Oasis in the Desert.

I played the course on a side trip to Vegas.I wrote this review only because I noticed that the course didn't have one yet.

It is a very short disc golf course designed for guests that have a "Frisbee" in the motorhome. It is part of a beautiful RV Resort that is ranked second in North America by Good Sam. The resort has a ton of amenities including its own lake, a 24 hour casino with restaurant and bars.

The Disc Golf Course is very short and plays through large, shady mature trees and well-manicured grassy areas on the lakefront. There are great views of the lake and the fountains. They make the most of the small area where the course is located.

Water does come into play on the three lakeside baskets on holes 6, 8 and 9. The winds off the lake can add an extra challenge to all the holes.

Great for kids. Holes are short enough so that even super young kids could play an entire round of disc golf.

Several of the baskets are in well-lit areas allowing putting practice and limited play after dark.

Since the tees are not permanently marked, it would be easy to make your own alternate tees and add some distance and challenges. (Then you could bring more discs besides your putters.)

There were restrooms in the casino and also the pool area.

if you are staying in Pahrump or possibly just "driving through", stop by and play a quick round at Lakeside RV Resort. It will only take 20 to 30 minutes to play the course. It will give you a chance to enjoy the lake breeze, stretch your legs and work on your short game. You only need a putter to play. However, you should bring two discs since water comes into play on three holes.

Be mindful of the other resort guests and help introduce them to disc golf.

Cons:

Don't travel here just to play disc golf. It is a very short nine hole course in a private RV resort.

However, if you are in the area, stop by and play a quick nine holes if you need to cool off, stretch your legs, practice your short game, or you want to play a round with your kids.

The tees do not have any signs and the tees are not permanently marked. However, it is easy enough to find a place to tee off to the next basket.

There are several crossing fairways and the course borders roads, sidewalks and a couple of campsites.

Other Thoughts:

I wrote this review only because I noticed that the course didn't have one yet.

I rated it for the type of course it is. I don't want to knock it because it is one of the most beautiful and well-manicured little 9 hole beginner courses I have ever played. It would be perfect for playing an entire round of disc golf with young kids or grandma and grandpa. It has nine regulation baskets plus the resort offers top notch facilities.

I don't want to knock it, but I don't want to be too generous and give anyone the wrong impression.

I am giving it a 2.5 but it would rate a 4 for kids and beginners, or folks with only one disc.

Again, don't make a trip here just to play the course. If you are already passing through Pahrump or are looking for a great RV Resort near Vegas, stop on by and play the course. This is a beautiful resort and disc golf is fun.

Lakeside RV Resort is ranked #2 in North America by Good Sam. In addition to disc golf the resort offers these amenities:

24 onsite Casino (Small and very smoky with Slots and Video Poker)
24 Hour Restaurant and Bars
Swimming - Pool and Lake Beach
Nice spacious sites, including premium lakefront sites.
