What do we want? More holes! 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 17, 2020 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

The reviews from 2014 below are all still valid and are worth reading/considering.

For a four hole course, I was pretty impressed. Out of all the 4-holers I've played, this is definitely in the top 5.

The tee area has markers and signs, though just dirt tees. The baskets catch great. The area is clean, mowed, and maintained.

It was a great warm-up for the nearby UW-Whitewater course.

Given there were only four holes, I think the designer made the most of the limited terrain to add some challenge. Hole #2 was especially fun and then the #3 hyzer bomb was a nice touch. All in all, it was pretty fun.

Cons:

I wish there were a couple more baskets installed. This course only takes up about half of the park and I think another 2-3 baskets would bump this up to a 2.0 for me.

It's not super difficult for an experienced player, I shot -3 on the 4 holes and felt the -4 was definitely attainable if I played another round or 2.

Other Thoughts:

An easy course to bag if you're in the area to catch out UW-Whitewater. It's a straight-forward four holes, I actually enjoyed it.

Pretty good for a 4 hole? 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 22, 2014 Played the course:once

Pros:

The park is really clean and well maintained. The baskets are Mach 2's that are in awesome shape and catch great. The tee signs are very nice too. They have the hole #, distance, par and a very descriptive hole map. The course plays clockwise around the park.

Cons:

It's only 4 holes so it's not going to be that great. Not much to say about this one.

Other Thoughts:

It's a 4 hole course. Obviously don't go out of your way to play but can be a decent warm up for UW Whitewater which is a few minutes away.

Pros:

This is a great practice course, good signage, good use of a small park. Good place to take kids or people just getting into the sport.

Cons:

It is what it is, don't come here expecting to be blown away. Its a good practice or warm up course for the ww course. And the signs are way better than ww.

Great 4 hole course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 9, 2013 Played the course:once

Pros:

This course only has 4 holes, but these 4 are really fun to play. Its a great place for beginners to learn as there isn't much traffic through the park, and not many trees. Travelers is always mowed and perfect for play. Landscape is slightly wooded, but mostly open. Alcohol is allowed if you are of age. There is a water pump fountain but I would not recommend drinking out of it. Bathroom is clean. Plus pavilion and grills on grounds. Swing set and baseball diamond are out of play. Free to play.

Cons:

Short course but good for what it is!

Other Thoughts:

The UW-Whitewater course gets really over grown in the summer and its a nice break to play in a well-kept and more open park.

Welcome Travelers Park 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 2, 2013 Played the course:once

Pros:

The course plays clockwise through a small 8 acre Jefferson County Park. The county looks like it takes good care of the park and it was nicely mowed when I was there.

The baskets are nice Mach baskets and look fairly new.

The tee areas were marked with short 4x4 posts in the ground with the hole number marked on them.

The course is very easy to navigate. Hole 1 starts by the parking lot. The course plays clockwise around the open space.

Good use of the trees on the course.

Cons:

The tees are natural grass. They can be slippery when wet. I doubt this course will get played enough for them to get worn out though.

The course isn't very long and isn't very challenging.

There are more areas of the park where some additional holes could have been added, but it seems the ball field would have come into play.

Other Thoughts:

There is a restroom on site.
Trash cans and recycling cans on site.
Picnic shelter with grill and picnic tables.
2 swings, ball diamond and backstop and open green space.

It is a nice area to warm up on before you play the course at UW-Whitewater.
