Solid Concept--Poor Execution 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:May 8, 2014 Played the course:once

Pros:

Aesthetic-- plays near the shores of fife lake on a sledding hill? Not sure what this sand pit is used for other than disc golf. You most likely won't run into anyone out here.

Dual Tees/baskets--pretty much a rarity in Michigan, dual tees and baskets make this course possible to play 6,12,18 or 24 holes.. Though, I can't possibly see anyone playing all 24 out here.

Baskets-- brand spankin' new. as grippy as they get and nice and visible on the course.

Variety-- Decent. Elevation is used well and there is a little of everything with the different layouts. you could easily play just what you like to play at each stop.

Routing and Nav-- decent I suppose. the map is helpful.

Challenge-- the challenge factor is high on some combinations. long fairways abound and scrub fills them heavily in some.

Cons:

The concept-- look at the map. there are only 6 fairways here. 12 baskets 6 fairways 24 combinations. The potential of cross fire on a busy day is pretty high. the danger of being at the bottom of the bowl and taking a disc to the melon are high.

Fairways-- course lacks definite fairways in a lot of places. Some combinations are simply not possible/reasonable with the huge amount of scrub on some fairways.

Teepads-- sand/dirt/carpet and some pavers on the 5/11 pads... the only one worth a crap are the pavers.

Other Thoughts:

I know this course is in it's infancy but it needs a huge amount of TLC to be decent.
