Pros:
Great flow and variety. Who ever laid this course out did perfect with the space provided. This is the best course in the area. It is worth going out of your way. Perfect amount of trees. Hard but not to hard. Good elevation changes on some. Deer in the woods. Great signs and baskets. Great flow.
Cons:
none as i see it.
Other Thoughts:
Worth the drive or the stop for sure. 1 is as you enter park turn right.

Pros:
Good condition baskets
Nice mix of left and right shots
Very heavy wooded holes, but there are lines for the holes of varying degrees.
Good use of the elevation too
excellent course flow
Holes 9 and 18 both end near the parking lot. GREAT design.

Cons:
There are temporary tee signs on nearly every hole, but no guarantee they will be there next week.
A lot of the holes are on the short side, so if you miss the trees, you probably got the bird.

I am not going to go into a hole by hole review this time.
This course has a good mix of left and right holes with a few straight shots thrown in.
Holes 1 and 17 are signature type holes.
Basically, you miss the trees, you will shoot good here.
I highly recommend playing this course, it is going to be pulled next year for a Target store

A challenge for the tree lovers 2+ years drive by

Pros:
Brand New Innova DisCatchers, good layout for the area it's in. Heavily wooded for the back 13 holes will keep your mind in the game and on which disc is the right one for the shot. Definitely need a variety of throws in your skillset. Back hand, flick, anHyzer Hyzer etc.
Though the back 13 holes are heavily wooded, there is paint on the trees to kind of direct you towards the basket.
A lot of OB play comes in around the baskets. A small creek kind of winds its way through the wooded area as well as the front 5, and the layout utilizes this as OB, so it creates even more of a challenge. This course is not for beginners IMO. Very technical, a lot of fun to play though.

Cons:
The trees can be a bit ominous. There are several holes that you can't see the basket from the tee pad, so I found myself walking the "fairway" (forest) till I spotted the Gold ring. My hope is that eventually they will have the funding to add hole maps at the tee box so you can see where you are headed.
Other Thoughts:
Over all, this is a pretty course, with lots of diversity. Even within the 15 wooded holes, they change the direction of approach making each hole unique. I liked that from one to the next I found myself choosing an overstable disc that worked great on a flick, or an overstable mid range for a back hand drive. Or a long straight tunnel drive that I could HyzerFlip an understable distance driver to make a good run at the basket. Even had a couple an-hyzer shots with my putter to get around the trees and park the basket from the tee-pad. Bring your A-Game!

Can't See The Forest For The Trees 2+ years drive by

Pros:
This course starts out with the first 5 holes playing around a basketball course, in a park like setting. These holes have some elevation, although nothing extreme. An OB creek comes into play on several of the first few holes. There are makeshift bridges to help you across the creek from hole 1 to 2, and again from hole 3 to 4. Hole 6 tees off from the open area of the park, into a densely wooded pine forest.
The rest of the course plays very technical through dense pines. Although there isn't any real tall brush or thick undergrowth, there's enough ground cover to lose discs, if you don't see where your shot landed.
Some of the baskets are not visible from the tees, however, the local club installed Discatchers, making it easy to spot the target once you've located it.
The course has a good variety of left, right and straight ahead holes, and distances vary from a few holes being under 200', to a couple of holes close to 400'. Most holes are under 300 feet.
The rest of the course plays very technical through dense pines. Although there isn't any real tall brush or thick undergrowth, there's enough ground cover to lose discs, if you don't see where your shot landed.

Other Thoughts:
Risk / Reward - Starting with hole 6, you basically risk hitting a tree and getting a bad kick off it, on every tee shot. There are clear lines to the baskets, BUT...there are so many trees it feels like shooting consistent golf here from one day to the next, would be a matter of luck as much as skill.
A mix of dirt and cement tee pads.
Trash cans on some holes.
Plenty of shade.
No practice basket that I saw.
A few places to sit, throughout the course.
Fun factor - Starts out good, then things become to repetitive in the woods.

Trees... Trees Everywhere 2+ years drive by

Pros:
Bring your A-Game on this one, you'll need it.
This course is situated in a very densely wooded hardwood/pine forest. You will hit a tree guaranteed, it's just unavoidable.As such it is a very challenging course, and lanes of flight, while many, are very restricted and require a confident tee-shot in order to make it anywhere near the baskets.
-Holes 1-5 are situated south of the higher parking lot area and is only moderately wooded. This is the length of the course where you'll need to get all the birdies/aces you can, because after this set it is tree city the rest of the course. These holes are not very difficult yet they still require finesse in getting around the towering pine and oak trees.
Holes 6-18 are in the thick stand of pine and hardwood trees, and while the herbaceous layer isn't present in large amounts, there is a very large amount of woody debris as well as a thick litter layer, so relying on a skip to propel a disc another 20-40 feet isn't an option on 80% of the course. The disc will simply hit the ground a die or bury itself. This stretch required very precise tee-shots as while lanes of travel are fairly defined, even a slight deviation of disc flight will find its way into a tree.
-Very pretty setting on the outskirts of the city. When you first start playing you may even catch a glimpse of white-tailed deer foraging within the park or on the course borders. I even spotted a barn owl chilling on a high branch one evening before sunset.
-The course is very well maintained by the Longview Disc Golf Association, and is constantly being improved weekly.
-Hinsley Park is a stark difference in both scenery, style, and difficulty than the much more beginner friendly course at Guthrie Park. An excellent addition of the growing disc golf scene in Longview.
-It may not look like it at first, but Hinsley has some significant elevation deviations throughout the course, in stark contrast to the flat playing field found at Guthrie. Just adds to the appeal and difficulty of the course.
-Aces are possible on almost all the holes, yet the trees will try hard to make sure that doesn't happen. Touch a tree and that nice birdie drive will turn into a double bogie disaster in a heartbeat.
-Water comes into play on a few holes as well, so that initial drive needs to be mindful of the two creeks in the park. In places they are deep enough to hide a disc, but not deep enough to even get your knees wet if you had to go in after it.

-One thing that could stand to be improved is the course signage. Navigation is tricky without it if it is the first time playing the course.
-Teeboxes are another area that could stand some improvement. We are experimenting with mulch teeboxes as well as concrete tiled teeboxes in addition to the natural earthen boxes. Concrete tee-boxes would be optimal, but as with most courses it will be a costly endeavor.
-Flooding can be an issue on hole 16's teebox, as it can become a muddy quagmire after a rain event.
-Teeboxes are another area that could stand some improvement. We are experimenting with mulch teeboxes as well as concrete tiled teeboxes in addition to the natural earthen boxes. Concrete tee-boxes would be optimal, but as with most courses it will be a costly endeavor.

Other Thoughts:
- If your disc goes off of the fairways of holes 6, 17, or 18, you may find yourself in a myriad of briar bushes and other thick herbaceous material, as those parts of the course are left wild and are not trimmed whatsoever. This helps in one regard in that this will stop all but the most terrible of drives from going near the heavily trafficked highway adjacent to the course,
- Shoes with some moderate-significant traction are recommended, as the topology and thick leaf litter layer can lead to footing issues, especially after a storm passes through.
All in all this course is an excellent addition to the City of Longview, and is only going to get better as time goes on. A must play for anyone going through town, and will be a fun and challenging course for everyone regardless of skill level. Seasoned veterans and noobs alike will have a great time playing Hinsley Park DGC.

Pros:
Can't remember each hole exactly, so this review will be somewhat limited. Apologies...
-Holes 1-5 start off the course in a moderately wooded portion of the park. Tennis courts do not really come into play, except in the case of a poor shot. All these holes, if you choose your lines and hit them, are birdie-able.
-Holes 6-18 move you into the heavily wooded area of the park. Most holes are manageable, giving at least 1 line to the basket. A few holes offer a couple different lines, but most only give 1 way to the basket for a birdie score. I consider this a "pro" and not a "con," for it challenges your shot accuracy.
-For a wooded course, the lengths vary and require not only disc selection, line shaping, but also power control. Pretty cool...
-Highlights are the front 9 birdie collection before the back 13, cool tunnel shot (hole 16 I think?), and the long anhyzer or forehand on 18.
-Great Baskets!

-Seems safe...a lot of older guys setting in cars **a little scary**
-I'll give the make-shift bridges over the creeks a pro, for at least you're not jumping over them, but they won't last. Good sturdy bridges with handrails need to be implemented before long.

Going to be in town for a couple weeks and have already played Hinsley 3 times. I'll be returning tomorrow morning and this next week for a few more rounds.
