-Tight in some spots. Hole 4 is a big downhill shot that play across a walking path and Hole 18's fairway. Not ideal. In addition to that, there's a few spots (hole 8 & 9 and 16-18) where the fairways are parallel and fairly tight. A shank on one could end up in the fairway of another. It wasn't crowded when I went, so it was a non-issue, but it could be if it's crowded.
-This is a mixed use park so there's some holes where a walking path is either in the fairway or nearby. Again, when not crowded (which it doesn't seem to be often) it's not an issue but something to be aware of.
-Many of the teepads are old asphalt and short
-Only one set of teepads and baskets per hole

It been a while since there was a review of this course and there have been some changes for the better in that time. For one, this course no longer has homemade baskets. As of 2022, brand new Innova Disc Catchers on every hole. I mentioned the teepads in the cons, but approx. 6 holes have new concrete standard length teepads. Hopefully this is an indication of continued maintenance and upgrades being put into the course. I played my round here on a summer Saturday afternoon. At my home courses, in 2022, this is usually a recipe for a crowded course. Not the case at HA Meyer. I only saw one other group on the course. The rest of the park and walking path didn't get much use either with only the occasional walker passing through on the path. I'm all for growing the sport but I must say, selfishly, this made for an enjoyable round. The course itself was a fun spin. More fun than I expected going in. There's really some nice variety, both in distance and wooded vs open, elevation. The course isn't particularly tough, especially if you have a good arm, but there's still enough challenge to keep even good players honest and the holes play fun. There's a few spots to really rip into a distance driver and there's also some cool tight tunnel shots and places to give it an ace run. The only real blemish is the spot on hole 4/18 overlap, which is a shame because Hole 4 is really the signature hole of this course - a downhill shot to a basket just feet in front of the creek that winds through the park. Hole 4 requires a spotter even if you know the course due to playing over the walking path, you can't see pedestrians coming from one direction on the teepad. I heard this course was originally 9 before being expanded to 18. That makes sense, and I'll take 18 holes over 9 everyday of the week. It's shame though that there's a slight blemish on the signature hole. However, on the whole (and since it wasn't crowded), it was something I could overlook. I'm rating this course a 3.5 but it's more like a 3.75. I thought the course had the perfect level of challenge and setting. Though I rarely rate courses with only one set of teepads/baskets and in mixed use parks this high, if they fixed the rest of the old asphalt teepads (perhaps in the works?) I would be tempted to rate it a 4. Pretty darn good for a free public park 18. Just a solid course and a bit of a hidden gem in Sheboygan County. I'll be back.

The course is set in a nice park outside of a quiet neighborhood in a small town. The baskets are homemade and caught fairly well. I liked the numbers on the top of the baskets as well. These helped with navigation for us as it was our first time here and there being a couple confusing spots. The tees were a mix of concrete and gravel. These were ok for the concrete but the gravel were in rough shape with most of the gravel gone so we threw from next to them instead. There were no signs on any holes except 2 and maybe 3. There's a decent mix of all types of holes here. There's uphill, downhill, wooded and open. The length of holes vary nicely as well. The river that runs through the course can come into play on a few holes too which adds to the challenge factor. Hole 5 throws over the river and hole 4's pin is located with the river very close behind it. There's some nice tight tunnel shots that demand great accuracy as well. Hole 2 and 15 come to mind. The course is free and there's a port o potty by the playground area which is a bonus. The course is also up year round and would seem to be a pretty solid winter course if you're into that sort of thing.

The lack of signage can cause problems for new players. Especially the walk back over the bridge from 7 to 8. And then you have to walk past 14's basket into the woods to find hole 10's tee. Other than that it's not too bad. The couple signs they had didn't help anyway. They have the hole # and the distance in yards. Most weren't there or were broken. As was mentioned earlier, there are some safety concerns here. A number of tees are pretty close to some of the pins and hole 4 throws over a walking path. These are cons for sure though it doesn't seem like it'd be a real busy course.

This was a pretty solid course, nothing special but a nice place to play a round for sure. If you're in the area it's worth a spin for sure, but nothing to go too far out of your way for.

18 hole course set in a very picturesque nature park on a dead end street. Newly updated from 9 to 18 holes, so it's still a bit rough. The old holes are good to go, though.

One tee position per hole. Half the holes have asphalt tees, which are ok, but not great when wet. The other half are gravel as of now, but will be paved in asphalt (blah) in the spring. They're ok, but a bit short.

One pin position per hole. The basket are homemade (they were actually made in a local prison), and have cool hole number markers on each basket. They catch reasonably well, even though the chains are a bit heavier than the normal basket. They're not great, but they're usable.

A decent amount of elevation is in play here. The course also has a bit of shot shaping, which is surprising, as a lot of the holes appear open at first glance. Wind is usually a factor as well, as the course is set into a valley between two sizable hills.

There's not usually too much traffic here, which is nice. The park feels very serene, even being in the middle of a town. You'll come across the occasional deer, as well as many other critters. The river adds a lot of ambiance.

Nice tee signs show distance, and basic topography, and help with navigation.

Navigation here is a little wonky, as you'll have to cross over a fairway on the transition from hole 7 to 8 (crossing hole 4).

There's a few tee pads that are too close to the pins. Hole 6's tee is basically right next to the intended path for Hole 5. Also Hole 11 and Hole 12's tee pad are too close. Hole 17's tee pad is directly in the FH flight path for Hole 16. Hole 5's tee pad, while behind a large tree, is in the danger zone of Hole 18 drives. If the person on 18 can throw 350', you could possibly be in danger.

While a round here is usually going to be a nice getaway, the potential safety hazards really bother me here. I actually tried to offer potential changes (before installation) that would have alleviated most of these issues, but the Parks department did whatever the hell they wanted, so this is what we get. My hope is that discers will be cognizant of possible danger spots, and give due restraint where needed.

Golf wise, it's a pretty fun course. Not too tough, but offers some good distance variation, some good elevation, and nice mature trees that offer some variation and difficulty.

Plenty of parking here. Only one porta potty, and that's only from April-Oct. Trash cans at a few holes, but no benches on holes.

Stop in a give it a spin...more than likely, you'll enjoy the experience!
