Short, Hilly course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 3, 2015 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Nicely landscaped PRIVATE park (see "other thoughts" below) with full washrooms, vending machines, lake, firepit.

Newly built with Mach V baskets, this course is great for beginners (although I will say hole # 2 is one of the toughest par 3's in the city). This course has some big elevation changes as the last 7 holes are built on the backside of a toboggan hill. Plenty of trees to keep things interesting for more experienced players and a great place to work on your short game. Despite the short distances it can be surprisingly difficult to score well here due to the elevation changes and inevitable tree hits.

Possibly the prettiest course in Calgary with a nice view over the lake and even a man made waterfall.

Cons:

The first two holes are a decent length, and Hole 8 is a challenge, but other than that this course is very short, with a couple of the holes being a simple upshot for an experienced player.

The course design could have made a little more use of the space, although I don't think they wanted disc golf taking over the whole park. The tee box for #6 is very close to #5 basket and right in the fairway, so use caution there.

Be careful of roll aways! It is hard to play a round here without at least one bad roll away, it adds a bit of challenge but can be really frustrating too (just a note for local players, if you thought roll aways were bad at Parkland or Thorncliffe, wait till you play here!).

Other Thoughts:
