- Lots of walking paths all over the park. While I think the designer did the best they could to avoid these paths G'ers are just going to have to pay attention prior to throwing.
- The layout is a bit strange. It works fine but felt...weird.

Lincoln Park is a great course to have in your neighborhood. With the utter lack of shule (this is a good thing) its a great place to work on upshots and midranges. Big arms are going to be a little bored with this one but hey, the disc golf world does not revolve around those that toss plastic 400' on a frozen rope. 18 holes felt like its a bit of a squeeze into the space available which is reflected in the short nature of the course overall.

Lincoln Park is a park style 18 hole disc golf course . Plenty of parking near hole #1 and a large bathroom sits right alongside of it . It is a multi use park that looks to be enjoyed by a lot of the local public .
The Equipment : The tee pads for this course are level cement pads . They are a little shorter and thinner than most other pads , but are level and flush with the ground . The signage is good , with hole# , par , distance and flight path . The baskets are yellow banded Discatchers . To help keep the course clean , there are garbage pails attached to the signs . There are some next tee signs on some of the course .
The Landscape : The park is kind of bowl shaped . There is a rim all around the park and a flat piece in the middle . There is a lagoon that splits the park in half , and water comes into play on several holes . For being small , the park is picturesque . It has a nice bridge in the lower area , and a great bridge near holes 1 & 12 . The course designer made good use of what elevation he had to work with . The grass was mowed and the park well taken care of when I was there.
The highlights : #6 is a nice putter/midrange toss to a basket slightly on a downhill , with a moat of water at the bottom . If you have a rollaway , you might lose your disc .
#9 is an interesting basket placement . Tight treed fairway with the basket tucked away on an uphill to your right . #11 is a long flat fairway drive with the lagoon on your left the whole time . #16 is a water carry over the end part of the lagoon with the basket at the top of the bowl .
Signature Hole : #12 . A drive next to the bridge over the lagoon to a landing area between bushes . You better be able to throw 280-290' straight , or a gust of wind cost you your disc . There is a drop zone on the other side of the bridge that you can tee off from if you don't want to lose one .
Disc Risk . Take the water out of your drive on a few of the holes and disc risk is very low . Other than catching it in a tree , you have nothing to worry about .
Time : It took me about 55 minutes solo . A foursome will finish in 2 hours or less .
The locals appear friendly , the park is nice to look at and the walk was easy on the legs . No long walks to the tees , and most of the holes were short .

#1 Safety . The park was getting a lot of use on the Friday night that I was there . There are people that are oblivious about walking across a fairway that you are playing . Walking paths and a gazebo add to the crowd . Lots of families were enjoying themselves . Don't ruin their outing by putting up an impatient midrange throw in their direction . You will finish the course in fast time , anyway .
#2 Navigation . The course has an odd flow to it . You will complete the course without a map , but you will wander around to do it . I guess what I am saying is : Print A Map . After hole #3 you will cross the bridge and to your left will be #4 . After #11 you will go up the hill and the #12 tee pad will be right on the other side of the bridge . When you finish hole 13 , the inclination will be to go to your immediate right to a tee pad . That is #15 and you will skip #14 , which is backward from #13's basket and to the left . You have to come all the way back to the other side of the #13 basket to play #15 .
#3 Your Disc : The water here is unforgiving . The course here is more for the local or the newbie or a disc player . and that means that those players are more likely to put the lagoon in play . Just want to lay it out that there is a risk of losing your prize disc on a few of the holes .
I am not going to put a con down about challenge on this course , because the parks have tried putting in a " Super 9 " , and the 18 hole course here is already wedged in this park tightly . If you are a higher level player and this course is too easy , drive the 44 minutes to Fairfield .

This is a course that has a little bit of challenge to it , but what it lacks in challenge , it more than makes up for it in fun . There is enough variety here , especially on the back 9 , to keep you interested . The park is aesthetically pleasing , and I think that the Parks Dept. does a good job of trying to supply something for everyone here . Birdie and ace runs for the gifted players , and lessons in controlled driving and putting for the less experience .

My Recommendation : A solid play for the locals , newbies and 1 disc player, along with the family visiting the park . No challenge for the pro, am , or intermediate , but fun . This course is a good play for the traveler , since the course sits a little over 6 miles from I-94 and the family can walk the park , or play in the play area while you shoot a round . Excellent for the Course Collector . Close to the interstate , and within just miles of both Hillcrest and Parkside . Give this course a try . I think most will agree you will have a good time .

Nice use of park. Holes #1-11, 17 & 18 not to challenging for beginners/recreational players. Holes are spaced out nicely where you're not tripping over everyone else. Easy to manuever between holes.

#12 and #16 were too challenging for me; if new to game, take a penalty drop to avoid losing your disc in water which I did. Tee pads are bit smaller than I am use to

A lot of mature trees will provide nice shade when it comes to the warmer / hotter months.

18 hole course in Lincoln Park in Kenosha, WI. Park has children's playground equipment, as well as sports fields across the road from the course.

Concrete tee pads, one per hole. They are a touch short, but almost all were level enough around pads for a longer run up. Hole number and distance was painted on each tee.

Discatcher baskets, one position per hole. Baskets were all mounted well, and in good repair. A few baskets are mounted in tight areas, with water and hills in play. A decent amount of risk/reward.

The day we were there, holes were being dug for tee signs, which were going to be mounted on 4x4 posts, and will hopefully be helpful. The navigation here, even without the signs, was somewhat simple, with a few next tee signs. Pretty intuitive.

Some light elevation , especially throughout the first 9 holes. There are also plenty of mature hardwoods to help force lines and create low canopies. The lines are definitely not tight, but there at least obstacles.

The course is beginner friendly, but is still a fun round for other players. It's not a huge challenge, but it's still quite enjoyable.

Really nice use of the pond/river in the course. Many of hte holes can/do have the water in play, including a really nice 280-ish water carry.

One tee position, one pin position. There's not a ton more space to be used here, but it would be cool to have a bit more variety on shots.

We were there on a weekday morning, so there was no traffic, but I could see this park getting a lot of use. The playground is in between holes 17 and 18, but **shouldn't** see much disc action. There are a few spots where a walking trail or sidewalk could come into play.

The course as a whole is somewhat short. There's really only a couple spots where you would use a driver as an Int or above player.

This isn't the place to go for a high challenge round, but it IS a place to go for ace runs, and a flat out fun round. Beginners will love it here if they stay out of the water, and more advanced players will appreciate some of the subtle lines.

There's not a lot of upper level courses in the area, so if you're close, you could definitely do worse than a spin here.

This is a great utilization of an underused city park. It reminds me of Janesville's Lustig Park in that respect. The majestic old trees add a nice touch and challenge to the course. The layout takes you to every corner of the park.

My "Cons" must be considered with knowledge that I chose to play this course on a cold winter day when the 4" snow cover had iced over. Ten of the 18 holes have water as a hazard and the ground sloping towards the water at all of those baskets. I have to ponder "Just because you can have a basket near the water - should you?" After retrieving my discs 6 times from the semi-frozen shoreline (thrice treading on thin ice to get them). I stopped actually playing the course. When a disc slides 100 feet to the drink, I think that perhaps alternative winter placements of the baskets should be considered. I anticipate dozens of discs being found in the spring. Two discs were sitting in the middle of the pond today. Do not retrieve them - thin ice.

At all times of the year, once should bring a "disc retrieval device".

UPDATE: Now that I have played this course several times at all periods of the year, I really like it. There is always a fear of loosing a disc to the drink, but I stand by my comment of a wonderful use of an old park. There have been multiple player each time I have been here, but never crowded. The flow from hole to hole is great.

Just got back from shooting our first round at Lincoln Park.

Most of the holes are fairly short, which is fine by me since I don't have the power to be competitive on longer courses. The trees make for some challenging shots and it's kind of nice not having to worry about losing a wayward shot in chest-high brush, as every hole is on mowed grass. There are some anxiety-inducing shots across and near the lagoon and past or into flocks of Satan's minions (geese). Hole 12 is going to need an additional short tee added. I didn't even try to throw across the water knowing I couldn't make it. There will certainly be discs lost to the murky shallows of the lagoon.

The layout is a bit perplexing: the course zigs and zags and criss-crosses back across itself very unnecessarily at times. Adequate signage would make finding the next tee easier, but that won't change the puzzling design choices of the course layout.

I like the course. Overall, it is quite nice. It's short enough that I can enjoy myself but challenging enough that I'm not throwing gimmie pars on every hole. Being 3 minutes from home is a nice bonus as well.

this is a very beautiful park with a flower garden by the first few holes which makes for a very unique setting. Good variety of shots with the water hazards and slight elevations changes. And of the course the biggest positive is the amenities, everything is really nice and well kept up at this park. I also don't see this park becoming 'trashed' or anything like that now that its' a dg course.

some of my cons might not be cons i just don't know enough about the course but alternate pin locations would be nice. it was kind of busy when i went i had to skip 2 holes because of groups of people but the course was small enough that i was able to come back and finish after a while. I would just say the biggest con, for me, is the distance on the throws and the challenge level. i like to air it out and you really dont get too many chances, the holes are in the 200-300 range and i feel like i didn't really even shoot all that great for the neg three i shot. although the shots were short for the most part they were still very enjoyable. enough trees and hazards to shape lines and worry about losing a disc.

overall this course is really beautiful and more of a finesse course, shouldn't take you too long to play (provided your not diving for discs or something) and i'm sure it will be busy enough to grow the dg community and is pretty close to that nice course at parkside. the idea of that safari golf here intrigues me, i bet that would be a whole lot of fun blasting it over the water a few more times.

Brand new course that makes excellent use of the existing park features. Very fun round to play and I wish I lived closer to take advantage of this course. I would be proud to call it my home course if I were closer. I have yet to purchase a Milwaukee County Parks pass and have been playing the free courses that are still in the area.

The first reviewer said that the short teepads messed up his game, however I had no problems with the existing pads. I used mid-ranges off of most of the tees except for the shorter holes where I drove with a putter.

I am by no means Simon Lizotte, but I didn't need a full run-up on any of the shots save for Hole #12 straight over the water because of the left-to-right wind I was playing into and not wanting to come up short into the water. Just used an overstable driver and it made it across with no problems.

New signage is coming which will help, but as long as you take a map with you it is easy to navigate until they get put in. As I said in the Pro's, I had minimal traffic for my round. Being a newer course, maybe word hasn't gotten out yet but definitely stop by and play a round here if you're in Kenosha and have the time.

Teepads. I know they are working with the city to make them bigger, but i have to say having teepads that small really messes up your game.

Ill be really excited then they get it done. And the "super 9" they are working on sounds cool. But i dont know how thata going to work with other people on the course.
