Well maintained small town course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 15, 2018 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Well maintained in a city park
Detailed tee signs
short enough for newer players

Cons:

Some (2 holes) go over/near the playground
A bit short to really be able to air it out
Tee boxes aren't great
only 9 holes
couldn't find #6 tee

Other Thoughts:

For a town of 1,500 its a great course. For a nine hole course its pretty diverse with some good elevation changes. Baskets are nice as well and catch well.

Pros:

This course is set up on the eastern hillside of the park with only hole 9 really being close to the other park activities. The tee pads are rubber mats. These are all really small but work pretty well for the distances here. The baskets are orange powder coated DGAs that are in great shape and catch fantastically. The flow of the course is really easy to follow once you find hole 1 (which is right next to the road through the park on the southeast part of the road). The tee signs here are also well done. They have a basic hole layout map, distances, pars and even a next tee arrow which is always helpful. The course is free to play and I highly doubt it would even have another group out there. There are some beautiful views of the countryside here as well.

Cons:

There's not much for cons here. The playground can come into play on hole 9 with a really terrible shot I guess. The distances are all pretty similar too I guess. It is a small park though so it is what it is.

Other Thoughts:

This is definitely worth a quick round if you happen to be near here (middle of nowhere). They did an excellent job with the course design for the available space. Hole 2 is the standout hole with a 300 some foot downhill shot to an elevated pin on a mound of tires about 8 or 9 feet up. The rest are pretty straightforward park style holes but with above average elevation. Nice little nine holer.

Fun spin in the hills. 2+ years

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Oct 8, 2016 Played the course:once

Pros:

9 hole course set up in a multi-use, old school park. Children's play areas and other activities available. Nice permanent bathroom structure.

Good signs, with hole layout (in picture format), distance, etc. They made the navigation easy, and helped to find the corresponding basket for each hole.

Nice DGA baskets, powder coated orange and easy to find. Mounted well, and caught well. Hole 2 has a nice elevated placement.

Most of the course plays on a hillside, which helps to add some strategy. Hole 1 is a really nice starting hole, 345' and downhill.

A few spots of mature trees add some extra challenge.

A decent amount of distance for a city park, especially when you factor in the elevation changes.

Cons:

Bad rubber tee pads. They're short, they're smooth and slick, and they're just not good. They would have been far better off just leaving it as natural tees. I did my throwing off to the side.

A lot of the course is pretty open. Not unusual for a small city park.

A couple spots where you may need to look out for people. Hole 6 is a blind-ish shot over a walking path, and hole 9 could easily have people around it.

Other Thoughts:

All in all, it's a decent little course in a super small town. If you're coming in from the west, I highly recommend the drive on Hwy FF from Wonewoc...simply awesome curvy road.

Not a bad spot to stop for a round on your way to Justin Trails, but other than that, not really worth going out of your way for.

Disconsin ~ Early June 2016 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 5, 2016 Played the course:once

Pros:

Bright orange baskets, excellent use of space, hillside challenge, some tree play, park facilities and amazing views.

Cons:

Tee areas are rather small in comparison to other rubber tees, signage could be improved, and for some, maybe more tree play is desired for challenge.

Other Thoughts:

Wonderful 9-basket course offering standard challenge for an one tee-to-basket course.
