Some baskets in a field. 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 4, 2021 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

1) The baskets, while supposedly homemade, are surprisingly good quality and catch very well for only being single chain.

2) There are concrete pads, though they are hilariously small; extremely narrow and quite short. They are far from ideal but they do exist and they are offer good grip.

3) Holes 1 and 2 play over/next to a couple big ditches that are used reasonably well. If you leave hole 1 short or hole 2 left you will be left with a tricky, steep uphill putt. Outside of carding an ace, this is the most excitement to be found on the course.

Cons:

1) A few holes (2, 8, and 9) play very close to, or over, the basketball court and parking lot. It's definitely a safety hazard, and can make hole 9 unplayable depending on where other visitors park.

2) The tee pads for holes 2-9 are all basically on top of the previous holes basket. Though you're never going to find this course crowded enough for this to actually be an issue.

3) No tee signs but, again, hardly a con since the course is so short and simple you aren't going to get confused about where you are throwing or where you are going unless you've got a blindfold on.

4) Basket 3 is gone, supposedly stolen. For hole 3, I played from pad 3 to basket 4, as it offers a similar distance to where basket 3 is supposed to be, then doubled back to pad 4 to play holes 4-9 like normal.

5) Basket 8, and to a much greater extent basket 9, have seen much better days. The pole on 8 is bent a bit, and the cage on 9 is almost sitting on the ground. They still function, but are pretty janky.

6) No variety. Lefty, righty, backhand, forehand, under your legs; it's just 9 wide open hyzers. There are no obstacles (unless you count the basketball hoops, a single light pole, and maybe some cars) and only a couple holes are over 200 feet. The trees from the image on hole 8 are also no longer there, so that is also just a wide open hyzer, no matter the throwing style, like all the other holes.

Other Thoughts:

Overall an extremely lackluster course. I think they maybe could have used the land better, but there is very little to work with and even in a best case scenario I can't see anything above a 1.0 being possible.

It's pretty much just a course for very beginners or field practice. Though, even for beginners, unless they are very, very little kids, I would recommend the Hudson High School course instead of here unless it's the middle of a school day and that course isn't available. And, honestly, unless you can walk here from your house, or are just bagging courses I'd just say save your time.

Pros:

+9 baskets in an under-served area. Finally a course in Hudson!
+Concrete Tees
+Easy navigation and good flow.
+#s on baskets

Cons:

-There are no obstacles at all, just a wide open field
-No elevation change
-Tees are short and narrow. (2'x4')
-A couple of the fairways cross
-No signs, No map.
-Basket 8 looks like it broke at the base so they just shoved the pole into the ground, sits low and crooked.
-9 plays across the basketball court and parking lot. Not a good idea.

Other Thoughts:

This would be an excellent course for beginners, except for hole 9 and possibly 1, 2 and 8 (because of the parking lot)
Every hole is short and flat with no obstacles except the wind. This would be frustrating to play if the course or other amenities are crowded.
Quick play time and quick access to the highway make it a good warm-up or commuter course but I will not go out of my way to play it again.
