Yeah, that was pretty much me. Heck, this is probably my first forum post in over 5 years! To be fair, I hit Diamond and tore tendons in my shoulder about the same time. Sadly, I hardly play any more and never pain free. I do miss being able to throw it over 250'. :D

Review by srm_520 in course Bowen Park

4.00 star(s) A Short & Well-Maintained Course Bowen Park is an interesting mix of short and easy to moderate technical holes that are designed for most disc golf experience levels. There are a few really cool elevation changes for a public park and just enough shot variation to make you work for it...

Review by srm_520 in course St John Lutheran Church DGC

2.00 star(s) Quick & Short This is the course you play when you need a quick nine holes. It's typically not very busy, and you've got just (and I mean just) enough trees to make things interesting. If you like a short course and only mildly technical - than this is your place. I have been out of the DG...

Review by srm_520 in course Bear Branch Sportsfield Park

3.50 star(s) Old Made New Again (Review note: Course comparisons made are to the original layout and not the first redesign. Number of times played is new design only) First, I love the placement of the new #1 tee box. Having the first box on the far side of the park makes it easier for golfers to park...

Review by srm_520 in course Cranbury Park

4.00 star(s) A Solid Wooded Course There are alternate pin locations at every hole, with the red pins usually playing longer, but not always in the more difficult location. Blue pins play considerably shorter, but mix in quality pin locations to give the recreational player a good challenge. Length is...

Review by srm_520 in course East Interlocken Park

3.00 star(s) An Improved Design This is a nice piece of property that has water in play down the middle of it, and some minor elevation changes that mix in well with the large trees. The course isn't very long, coming in at just under 2500', but makes up for the length with trees, brush, and water hazards...

Review by srm_520 in course Camp Allen DGC

3.00 star(s) Come for the Disc Golf, stay for the Post Game Message! How does a 21 hole course all to yourself sound? Camp Allen DGC is a fantastic, quiet, and fun course. The length is fine once you factor in all of the wooded areas, and the course offers a wide variety of blind shots that force you to...

How to set a basket on a hill?

That is freakin sweet. Your other option may be to tier the hill so have a flat surface. Not the whole hill, but the area where the basket is - which would help with possible erosion issues you may have too.

Review by srm_520 in course Little Egypt DGC

3.50 star(s) Quality Course without the "Wow Factor" There is nothing better than a new professionally installed course to give you a great first impression. As with many of the DG consultant courses, the concrete pads a huge and the signage is great. Plus, the Mach V baskets are some of the best pins to...

Review by srm_520 in course Mackenzie Park - Mack

4.00 star(s) Solid Lubbock, Solid. I loved this substantial course at 21 holes over 6000' from the shorts. There is simple start to #1, but then opens up to some major long open holes satisfying even the biggest arms. The hole layouts are mostly fantastic, and it's understandable why there are so many...

Review by srm_520 in course Towle Park

2.00 star(s) "Meh" The biggest pro may be that you have a half decent course to play in the middle of nowhere, which can serve as a great pit stop between Abilene and Lubbock. The course has plenty of open holes for you to air things out, and even with the subpar markings and stretched layout you can still...

Review by srm_520 in course Centennial Park

2.00 star(s) Meh, Not a bad place for beginners Pros of this course fall under three categories: great pitch and putt practice, great for people learning the game, and great for families looking for a casual round with their kids. If you fall under one of these three categories then plan to be pleased with...

Review by srm_520 in course Cottonmill DGC

4.00 star(s) The Best Kearney Has to Offer Cottonmill DGC is overwhelmingly better than every other course in the Kearney area. The well-maintained park has an interesting mix of foliage, elevation changes, water hazards, and tight lines. At just over 5000 feet the course feels longer than posted because...

    The Golden Age

I think the nerd comic book analogy is needed here. :) Golden Age of comics - 30's and 40's i.e. the intro of Superman, Batman, and Captain America (The classics). Silver Age of comics - 60's i.e. Avengers, X-men, Fantastic Four, Spider-man. So I believe then the Golden age of Disc Golf was...

Well...I got a bit excited. You know, the whole name is bright lights thing. Strangely enough ESPN, countless crazed fans, and misc. loose women have not been knocking at my door yet. Weird right? :D You actually need 200 unique voters. Believe me that's the killer - I went over a 1000...
