In 2023 the 2 Texas Elite events were both among the lowest payouts on Tour. They improved this year however. So far this year it is DDO (which would also be nice to not see on the schedule). I don't find any of the Texas courses to be overly compelling but there are others just as uninteresting...
While I agree with them on the park courses (pretty sure I even like the golf courses better at this point), they'll get over it. Hopefully there won't be another Elite event at the same venue next year ala Northwoods this year.
Funny- I remember telling Dave Henrickson who started Revolution Bags that "no one is ever going to pay $100 for a disc golf bag" so I am a failed prophet as well. $6.99 was the going price for plastic in Richmond when I started in the mid-90's.
Wow... you were getting hosed back then. I don't think I ever saw a disc cost double digits until they started selling dyed KC pro discs in the late 90's.
Looks like water to me from the picture, also appears that some portion of the "sheet of paper" (lie) was not in the water given the idea that the center of the lie was where his foot planted. Not sure what bearing that would/should have on a ruling. This particular call would likely have been...
...because the angle was better looking at it from above is my guess. The camera angle shows nothing either way due to the tuft of taller grass blocking the view. Paint on grass is a really dumb/lazy/whatever way to mark this stuff as well. String is way cheaper, doesn't run off into waterways...
It took Terry Miller (who was at the disc prior to the group even getting there) about 2 seconds to say that there was "no part of the disc touching inbounds". It is roughly 4:05 into the DGN coverage. IMO the camera angle (which would be the same for both Jomez and DGN) was poor.
I have watched plenty of their commentary and know Madison fairly well. IMO the comment in question was a clear statement that the rules often do not get followed and that the group was stepping outside the "usual" in doing so. There are a million different ways to articulate that it was...
I agree. Disappointing work on their part imo. Erika and Madison did the same thing on the post production- Erika called it "mean." How is anyone supposed to take this "sport" seriously?
