    2024 dynamic discs open

What I meant was, I don't know how 3 players were sure that Weatherman's disc was clearly out of bounds. If even 1 of the players weren't sure then she should have given Weatherman the benefit of the doubt and called it in bounds.

It looks like there is white paint to the right of the disc edge and unpainted grass to the left of the disc edge. Probably beating a dead horse at this point, but I'm not sure how she wasn't given the benefit of the doubt.

What does a "group majority" mean?

Player 1: "The disc is in!" Player 2: "I abstain" Player 3: "The disc is out!" Player 4: "I recuse myself from this sham election!"

What does a "group majority" mean?

You are refering to a plurality vote which means whoever gets the most votes wins. This is a majority vote situation which means someone (in this case a call) needs to get more than 50% of the votes in order to win. 801.03.A: When a group cannot reach a majority decision regarding a ruling, the...

What does a "group majority" mean?

I agree with "majority of voters" which is more than half. 3 players in a 4 player group, 2 players in a 3 player group.

King completely steps over her mini then calls a non-foot fault on Gannon later on, Nice!!!

Yep. And I felt it was a pretty quick decision too.

Man, it seems like that always gets called "good". Anything within 1/4 inch usually gets the benefit, this was more like 1/64".

I'm with you on this. The spotter is not there to entertain anyone (unless the TD or PDGA specifically wants and allows it).

I watched it live and it was a bush league move by King. It seemed like she knew she wasn't going to win and decided to call a non-existent foot fault on Missy. Again, I am all for calling foot faults when they occur. There were a few called this weekend in FPO. Players who occasionally miss...

I had only issue with the call...it wasn't a foot fault! Replay showed Missy's foot hitting her mini after she had thrown her shot and was pivoting. (I'm not sure if she use a mini or just left her disc on the ground) But to the point of will we see more calls, IF a player steps on their mini...

multiple people spotting together: disc in bounds = Luigi runs out, OB = Mario runs out, not sure = Peach runs out.

What do people think about the spotter wearing an Obi Wan Kenobi costume on hole 16? He uses red and green light sabers to indicate if a disc is OB or not. In this case I think it's hilarious, but I typically don't like this kind of stuff. I definitely don't want to see a lot of spotters...

    Flatpad teepads

I love the concept, but at +$800 for a 6'x10' pad, I don't see these as a viable option for 97% of courses.

Is there a limit to "Helping to find a lost disc"?

It seems to me that the main reason for the Casual area rule is to keep players from having to walk into water to play their shot, however with a lot of casual water it can be impossible to find the disc within 3 minutes without walking into the water. I thought the Relief area rule is there so...

Please explain what you mean in the bold text?

Is there a limit to "Helping to find a lost disc"?

I would say the spotter knew approximately where the disc crossed into the casual area, but not precisely where it landed. So why isn't that criteria used for all casual water situations!? If the players know a disc landed in a casual area and they know approximately where it entered into the...

Is there a limit to "Helping to find a lost disc"?

Eveliina is on the teebox at 39:00 and you can see her disc splash in the water at 39:20. The announcers say that the creek is marked as casual and that the disc probably floated away, but since the spotter spotted where it went in she is able to get "casual relief" from that spot and it is not...
