    Axiom Axiom Discs Crave Discussion

Yeah, I'm a huge Crave fan, and carry several. One more MVP mold in their slow but steady takeover of my bag...I compare their whole line to graphite shafts and oversized heads on golf clubs - they're more forgiving, somehow. The Crave just feels good in the hand, and it seems to *pop* on the...

    Must plays in new areas

Yeah, and depending on how fast the work is going, they've started framing and pouring concrete pads at Westminster, which will jump it up the ratings lists pretty quickly, I'd think. But aside from that, it's a fun track in a pretty spot.

    Must plays in new areas

If you'll be in Rock Hill for the weekend, I'll second (or third) the recommendations for Camp Canaan, which is only open on Sat/Sun. Two courses: Sandhills is a fun pitch and putt - it's 9 baskets with a long and a short tee for each, making 18 warm-up holes, if you have the time. If not, just...

Disc Golf & Mountain Bike Conflict

Yes, Renaissance has bike paths. For the most part, the two sports don't intersect, except that their trail does come kind of close to a tee pad and the back side of one of the big rock holes...And then on Renske, we have to hike about 80 yards from one basket to the next tee while directly on...

"Why don't we dump 'em, people? To the bottom of the sea 'Fore some ol' fool come 'round here Wanna shoot either you or me..." We all have opinions, men.

Who’s on your Mt. Rushmore of Disc Golf?

Around here, it would be blasphemous to overlook Stan McDaniel. Plus, he's an A-Plus individual. My mind definitely goes more towards desginers and pioneers instead of players. *I* am my Mt. Rushmore Player Representative. ;)

Old Farts Only 40+ (no kids allowed)

Last week, we had a heavy, blowing rainstorm here in CLT which caused a fairly massive Pine to topple over and take out a section of our privacy fence in the back yard. Happened on a Tuesday, and I work for a living, so I couldn't address the repair until the following weekend (which was this...

:D My mind immediately went to that scene. "It's called 'discovery.'"

Dynamic Discs Dynamic Discs EMAC Truth Discussion

There is much Truth in what you say... Long ago, in a galaxy far away, we found one of these on the old Hole #17 at Hornet's Nest. We knew there was a group in front of us who had probably left it behind, so when we got out to #18's tee, we hollered at 'em and waved the disc in the air. Dude...

Stop asking if you are outside the circle!

This kind of discussion is very interesting to me. Because it's not about the rules, it's about 'What Bothers You.' Not "YOU" you, but the general You. I'm one of those aforementioned old guys who can jump/spush pretty accurately from a good distance out. It's a strong part of my game, where...

Carrying bag or cart: Which is more physically demanding?

Why, yes. Yes it was. I throw the applause back in your general direction for knowing the reference. (I fargin' love that movie. "It's an .88 Magnum. This thing shoots through schools.")

Carrying bag or cart: Which is more physically demanding?

My thing, and I'm sure I've posted something similar before, is this: Used a backpack for years. All my buddies were like, "Come on, old man. You need a cart. It's only a matter of time..." I eventually caved and got the Transit. Once - once, Johnny! - in the early goings of having the thing...

    North Carolina Courses

Man, speaking of leaves... We played Hornet's Nest Saturday, and easily lost an hour looking for discs at different points...It didn't help that we had some youngsters with us (one's like 10 or 11, and the other barely 18). It's so hard to keep them focused on watching where their discs...

    North Carolina Courses

Both of them can be tough, depending on what kind of day you're having off the tee. No question about that. For a scenic park, Hornets Nest. It's always been a really beautiful place, to me. I like that the front side is more park-style golf, and then you get into the woods on the back side. A...

    USDGC 2023 - 25th edition

I sure do appreciate all the updates in here. I never watch DG, but it's fun to hear some of the details (and firmly-held spectator opinions) as the days wear on. But some of y'all seem way too emotionally invested. Maybe head out for a beer and a football game. Or, better yet, check out the...

    IDGC Courses

Yeah, Jeez. That news is painful. And not just from a DG perspective. It's just the height of uncoolness that such a blight can be responsible for losing so many trees. I mean, 129 acres. That's significant. Long live Steady Ed!!

    DGCR Aces 2023

Not sure how long the hole is, but I got #5 at Bradley Center in Gastonia on Saturday. Used a Hex on a flat baby flex line and it landed perfectly. Like, if it had missed, it wouldn't have been more than 10-15' away. Solid, but not a full-on smash, na'mean? My buddy called it halfway down the...

What are your favorite 2 discs in your bag to throw?

Yeah, a Hex would be 2a for me. Really useful disc.

What are your favorite 2 discs in your bag to throw?

ESP Comet - can be made to do just about anything, but I use it for backhand slow turnovers. Swirly Star Thunderbird - Straight as can be with just a tick of understability when I throw it at 100%, but it always comes back just in time. It's rare that I have to throw it that hard, though.
