Welcome to the 2nd Annual Kit Carson Park Ice Bowl! This event is part of the 2021 Golden Sombrero Series of Ice Bowls held in Southern California that has been happening since 2007. This is a charity fundraising event (as are all Ice Bowls) and we will be raising funds for the North County Food Bank. Proceeds from your entry fee, mulligan sales and other donations will go towards our charity. The food bank can feed four hungry people for $1 and their services are currently in great demand - help us feed our hungry neighbors.
COVID sucks. But we're doing our best to deal with it and still hold a fun event. This is AN EXPERIMENTAL EVENT!!!! If all goes well we will hold several more Ice Bowls at other courses. Notice that it is being held over the course of 2 weeks! That means you can play on any of the days from Jan 17-Jan 30. We're using UDisc Leagues to keep score andkeep a running leader board, so if you don't have the UDisc app on your phone, download it today! And create an account so we can add you to the leaderboard. (And if you don't have a smartphone...we'll figure something out). We've also set this up so you can register to play a second or third round to improve your score. Yeah.

REMEMBER!!! This is an experiment! It's also a charity fundraiser. It's trophy-only, but we'll have raffle prizes. Oh...and you can buy mulligans for $1 each for a "do-over" (everyone gets 3 mulligans as part of their entry). And mulligans double as raffle tickets!!!!!!!!!
Play begins on Sunday, January 17 at 6am and ends Saturday, January 30th at 8pm. It's a flex-start, so you play whenever you want. We will be playing 18 holes of disc golf, with a limit of two mulligans per "shot" (drive, approach, putt). Your entry fee gets you a Golden Sombrero stamp disc and three mulligans. Extra mulligans cost $1 each. The winner in each division will receive a custom-made Ice Bowl trophy.
Please limit group sizes to 3-5 players (at least 3 to discourage cheating, no more than 5 because the City of Escondido has that as a rule). Stay socially distant from other players as much as possible - wear a mask when near other park users (the city is watching...).
We will be holding a drive-through disc and prize pick-up on Sunday, January 31st at Jesmond Dene Park in Escondido, from 9am-1pm. Pull up in your car (and stay in the car), tell us your name, pull forward, roll down a window and we'll put your stuff in the car. If it works for Bed, Bath and Beyond it can work for disc golfers!!!!!!
