34TH KANSAS CITY WIDE OPEN
NATIONAL TOUR

The Kansas City Wide Open has returned to the PDGA National Tour lineup. Per the PDGA National Tour guidelines, registration will be tiered, beginning with the TOP-rated players and then working its way down until any active PDGA member may register. Please see the KCWO registration page for more information.

As in previous years, Johnathan Poole has selected the KC Wide Open as a USDGC Qualifier. That means the top 5 scores in the A Pool will receive an invitation to play in one of the most prestigious events in disc golf, the United States Disc Golf Championships. The KC Wide Open National Tour event includes only the OPEN (MPO) and Pro Women (FPO) divisions, with a field limit of 100 players.

A-TIER [Age-Protected Pros]

The A-Tier is specifically for Age-Protected Pros only. There will not be any amateur divisions offered this year. The A-Tier is limited to 64 players and will play in the A-Pool with the National Tour players, on tee times. Sign up early if you intend to play, as spots are very limited.

PERFORMANCE FLIGHT

For this year's KCWO, we are adding a Performance Flight, in lieu of an amateur event. This is open to ANY ONE, male or female, of any skill level, as long as you have an established PDGA Rating. Since a ratings-based formula is used to calculate projected scores, there is a minimum rating allowed of 875. If you are rated below 875 and want to play, you will have to play the event with an 875 calculated score. If you do not have an established rating, you will have to play the event with a 1000-rated projected score. Check out this USDGC article about the performance flight for more details. Also, you can check out the KCWO Performance Flight page for more information.

COURSES AND POOL INFORMATION

NATIONAL TOUR & A-TIER

The NT and A-TIER will play in the same pool (Pool A) and will be made up of 164 players. All weekend long, this pool will be on tee times. They are going to start the event off on Friday by stretching out their arms on the beast known as Blue Valley. Saturday, their will enjoy the soft rolling hills of Swope, trying to battle the seemingly never-ending ropes of the GOLD layout. On Sunday, for the Final Round, they will return to the Swope Gold course for a final redemption round.

PERFORMANCE FLIGHT

The Performance Flight is a TROPHY ONLY event. However, each player will receive an extremely well thought out players' package unlike anything the KCWO has ever offered before. Our hope is that you will leave here feeling that we provided you with an elite tournament experience.

This flight will consist of one pool (Pool B) limited to 90 players. All players are welcome to play, regardless of skill level or player classification. This is a performance based event, identical to the Performance Flight first introduced at the United States Disc Golf Championships. This format was created by Adrian Southern of Disc Golf United and we are thankful to him for allowing us to use it here.

This pool will start the event Friday playing the now famous finishing course of the KCWO, Swope Gold, on tee times. Saturday they will remain on tee times for a grueling round of endurance at Blue Valley. Sunday morning, they will go to the world famous Water Works for a final round at 8 AM (Shotgun).

Players will be delighted to know that we will have multiple way to win cash and prizes during their final round. We will have a final round ACE fund at the course. You must pay for that before the round starts on Sunday! If no ace hit there will be a CTP at the end of the round. There will also be a CTP on every card with cool prizes to win.
