The Acadiana Disc Golf Association Proudly Presents

The Seventeenth Annual Lafayette Mid Winter Open
Disc Golf Spectacular

<span class="italic">Schedule and Format</span>

Saturday, January 23rd 2016 at both Pa Davis and Heymann Parks.

Tournament central will be set up at Pa Davis. Registration will be held at Pa Davis and opens at 8:00 AM.

A brief players meeting for all participants will be held at Pa Davis following the conclusion of registration and the first round will tee off at 10:00 AM.

All divisions will play the established tees except for novices and juniors who will play shorter "blue" tees on certain holes.

The field will be divided into two pools based on attendance with Pool A typically consisting of Pro and Advanced players and Pool B consisting of Ams, Novices and Juniors.

Pool A will play Heymann first round and Pa Davis second round.

Pool B will play Pa Davis first round and Heymann second round.

Tee time for the second round will be announced and posted at lunch along with the payout, once all of the first round score cards have been turned in.

An awards ceremony will be held at Pa Davis following the second round once the final scores have been tallied. All CTP prizes, awards, merchandise and cash won by players will be presented at the awards ceremony.

<span class="italic">Registration</span>

As a courtesy to players who wish to sign up ahead of time, this event will be listed on the Disc Golf United website.

Pre-registration will not be required for this tournament, walk ups Saturday morning are 100% welcome.

Out of nowhere....BAM!....146 people showed up last year so consider either pre-registering or getting there early.

This is Lafayette. You know tons of CTPs will be out on the courses, cash & merchandise.

Vegas style Ace Pots for each course - $1 thru $5. Throw-off (if necessary) will be held while the scores are being tallied after the second round.

ALL ADVANCED, AMATEUR & RECREATIONAL PLAYERS will receive a free disc at sign up.

Awards for the top finisher in all divisions will be presented. I've got something really cool in mind for trophies. I guarantee you will want one.

<span class="italic">Pool</span>

We tried this before and it worked pretty well and we're gonna do it again with a few tweaks.

I assume everyone knows how a football pool works - if not, look it up.

We'll have a disc golf pool running for $2 a square. If we fill the board, that's $100 to square winner each round.

Instead of score by quarters, numbers will hit based on strokes to par for first and second place in Pro Open during the first and second rounds.

For example - after round one suppose first place is 6 down and second is 4 down, six and four would hit so that square pays $100.

After round two, the winning score for the tournament in Open is -12 and second place is -10, two and zero would hit so that square pays $100.

Par will be considered 54, playoffs won't count so scores will be taken at the end of regular play.

<span class="italic">Lunch</span>

You know Lafayette's gonna have groceries for you to slide down your neck..

Red Beans & Rice
Smoked Sausage
Cornbread
Greens
Soda

Everybody eats for FREE at Pa Davis between rounds.

<span class="italic">Bag Tags</span>

2016 ADGA tags go on sale at this tournament.

This will mark the beginning of our yearlong celebration of 20 years of Disc Golf in Lafayette, beginning with the installation of Girard Park in 1996.

This year's tags will be twentieth anniversary themed and Mr Brady Delhomme has graciously agreed to do the design so I know they will look oustanding!

As always tags will be sold solo for $10.

Keeping with tradition, a tag bundled with merchandise will be also be available. This year will be a commemorative Lafayette Disc Golf 20th Anniversary metal mini. Final price for this package will be determined once I finish getting quotes.

Another long standing tradition, present 2015 tags number 1, 2, or 3 before the tournament to receive your 2016 tag free of charge - a reward for defending it this long.

There will be some another bag tag related part to this tournament and I'll release the details real soon.
