Read [payout] is spread out more in my quote. The Pro Tour Championship was a winner take all so there's that as well. Most sit'n'gos payout top 30% in poker.Poker tournaments generally pay about 10% of the field, and the payouts are much more top-heavy than in disc golf.
Your home poker game is typically volunteered labor which is basically the level of professional disc golf tournaments today. As disc golf grows to the level of the WSOP the staff/officials/marshals/TD should be paid and not volunteered so there is more professional accountability running these tournaments. Courses and pavilions often have to be rented.Overhead is much different as well. Poker tournaments have dealers, floor people, and the venue to pay - in disc golf it is virtually zero given that courses don't have to be paid and all of the labor is volunteered.
