Great Ideas, Poor Execution
UPDATE: The drainage issue on Hole 8 has been corrected (for the most part). A foot bridge constructed on Hole 17's fairway seems a little excessive, but does work well.
Amenities and Park Upkeep
Everyone who plays here will agree that this course has 5 Star...
"Am Side" spit-outs are notorious on Mach X's and T1's.. However cut throughs are physically impossible. Mach 3's and 5's are probably the most inconsistent baskets I have ever played on and should all be thrown into a volcano never to be seen again.. Innova DisCatcher Pro 28's are great in...
I was there when this happened, there were about 20 people detained and gave statements.
1) The crime scene is 40' off the teepad of Hole 0 and is still taped off
2) Next to the body was a cellphone, keys to the Ford compact with CA plates, and a propane-fueled blow torch
3) According to WRAL...

Solid course, but small changes will help!
Great teepads, benches, and baskets on every hole. This is one of my biggest gripes on courses but Jackson has solid course hardware.
The location of the park is great, especially in a multi-use park like Jackson. The only issue I could foresee would...

Hopeful the Tournament Layout is Permanent
As a player who lives in the Raleigh area, venturing outside the Triangle does not happen much for casual rounds. I did however end up playing the Spike Hyzer Finale this weekend at Farmington, Sports Complex, and Sunset. Man, I was pleasantly surprised...

Best Public Course in NC
Amenities
Benches - Top notch and spacious. Some of the best benches I have used on a disc golf course.
Signage - The tee signs were clear and outlined par, distance, and OB when applicable. Where there are mandatories, they are bright yellow signs and have arrows...

Updated! Older.. And Wiser..
If you wish to play classic North Carolina wooded golf without the punishment of Castle Payne, look no further.
Both the blue pads and white pads offer challenge and fairness. No hole is too easy or too difficult. This has become my home course. It is difficult...
I don't know what y'all saw on camera.. But I was literally 5 feet from both of JohnE's drives on the second and third hole of the Final 9. Neither of them hit spectators. Close? Yes. Hit any of them? Absolutely not. So.. Yeah..
And Nate did a better job than anybody could in his efforts...

Great Course for Wind Practice!
Tee Pads: Every hole has two, level, and textured tee pads. Both have their own tee sign with fairly accurate distances. Some holes are the same shot but longer, others are different shots completely. A good mix in my opinion.
Navigation: Other than locating hole...

Meh, not bad.. But nothing to write home about
First off, given the area which the course is located on, it was a pretty good use of the terrain. There were a lot of pros, and I will start there first. The course starts off snaking around the perimeter of the driving range. Really not the best...

A Welcome Change of Pace
Course Layout: The pins were in the short position, but we threw from the blues/gold tees. Most of the pins had unique pin placements that made the approach shot not exactly straightforward. Awesome use of tree placement both lining the fairways and in play.
