Pros:
1) Beautiful multi-use park just off the I-24 interstate. Lightly wooded course with tall mature trees. Perfectly manicured. Several covered pavilions, a bath-house, sports fields that don't come into play of the disc golf area, and walking trails.
2) Extremely solid introductory level course for new players, children, and the noodle armed. Probably a wonderful course for the entire family. Risk of a lost disc here is almost impossible but does exist if one were to throw extremely far into the tall grass/woods area off the property itself.
3) The fairways are wide with multiple lines and gaps, utilizing wide mature trees and the road through the park as it's defenses. There are no water features on the course (and normally this would be a negative) but for this style of course, it just aides in targeting the beginner player and reducing the risk of losing a disc.
4) Large 5' x 12' textured concrete tee pads and Discatcher baskets in typical HB Clark style. Definitely an older course install but everything from the old style full color tee signs to the massive course map information board is still in, well loved, but good shape. The course definitely shows its age, but it has aged well for its purpose.
5) Though parking is minimal near hole #1, it is ample enough and there are multiple other places to park within the complex and still within a short walk of #1. Several trash cans located throughout, and there is no underbrush in any of the fairways to concern yourself with. Outside of the far edges of Holes #2 and #3, tall grass isn't even a concern.
6) Very intuitive navigation. The course flows directly and smoothly and can easily be played without a course map. Most tees are with 75 in direct line of sight of the previous holes basket. Hole #1, the Practice basket, and Hole #9 basket are all within a few feet of the main parking lot as you arrive.
7) Very little elevation and easy to navigate means this course is easy to walk, utilize a cart or stroller, or even play multiple rounds with ease. The tall canopy also provides a wonderful amount of shade for almost the entire course.
8) Very short course length wise and can be tackled by better players with just a putter (We played a 2 disc Par 2 event here recently which consisted of just a putter and 4 speed approach disc and faired well and had a blast doing it). Although a beginner course at it's core, it does provide some challenging lines to work on your short game if you choose.
9) Plenty of ace runs in the 250 foot average range, some shorter, some longer but mostly all holes you can run if you so choose.
Cons:
1) Lack of a signature hole. Due to its small overall footprint, lack of water features, and very similar hole shape and design there really isn't a hole that stands out above the rest. Most are just ok/good holes that don't differentiate themselves from one another.
2) Lack of elevation change or unique features to enhance the experience or increase the challenge.
3) Busy park setting with the walking trail seeing the most use. Lots of dog walkers, car traffic, and people generally oblivious to the fact they are playing/picnicing on a disc golf course. Be careful of your surroundings.
4) As alluded to earlier, the course is very small. Although the design does its best to space the holes out and play in a counterclockwise route avoiding fairway overlap, tree kicks can and certainly do impede on other holes. Especially with the baskets and tee pads being so close together.
5) Devoid of it's own personal character or uniqueness. While the course serves its intended purpose, and manages to look pretty while doing so, it's easily forgettable in the grand scheme of things.
Other Thoughts:
Well executed course given the space and constraints placed upon it. I agree with some of the reviewers below me that every town should have a course like this strictly dedicated to newer and less skilled players. This course is wonderful at allowing for success without being punishing for mistakes and is a great introduction style course for many. Definitely not a destination course. You would have to couple Doctor's Park and multiple other area courses together to make the trip here worth it. Though being so close to I-24, if you want to dip in for a quick 30 minute stretch your legs round, it's well situated. If it were not a direct beginner targeted course I would score it lower, but it is a decent typical course that provides exactly what it intends to.
