Description
High desert pinyon / juniper woodland with surreal rock formations and 360 degree mountain views. 44 acres, three sections; sage links, canyon holes & ridge holes. Complete trail system with interpretive signage, 711' elevation change, 8% avg. incline, 1.5 - 2.5 mi. trail length. The split (dual) tee for holes 7&10 may back up. It allows more holes to fit in the beautiful little canyon and is intended as a community space where groups can interact and watch each other's tee shots. Budget more time on crowded days and enjoy watching shots on other holes around the canyon! Development support from Carson City Parks, Recreation & Open Space (CCPROS), Land Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) Foundation for Carson City Parks & Recreation, Paiute Pipeline, Healthy Trees, Battleborn Tree Service & Southwest Carpenters. Intermediate & advanced pars listed on tee signs conducive to handicapped competition. Lots of elevation and distance variation. Individual holes or whole course SUBJECT TO CLOSURE for environmental protection during saturated conditions. Check the Carson Ridge FB page for updates (go to links/files tab above). After observing play, carts NOT suggested. Some trail sections require pulling carts up or down stone steps. If used, please leave carts on main trails while walking into 'rough' to play your lies and return to your cart. Play a controlled game by hitting fairways, landing zones and greens to enhance experience, cart or not. The NO DOGS rule is in place to further protect slopes from eroding, but mainly to protect the course's existing wildlife which is interpreted on the tee signs. There are longitudinal studies being conducted on nests, middens and other wildlife habitat. The LWCF grant which made this disc golf park possible requires measures to conserve water resources and wildlife habitat. Dogs urinating on the land on a regular basis (let alone digging up nests) will gradually push away the wildlife shown on the tee signs, and disturb seasonal wildflower habitat between fairways. Course was designed to rotate fairways to restore disturbed areas when necessary. Thank you for your understanding.
