Pros:
-great signs, concrete tees, and prodigy baskets
-makes very good use of the land and limited obstacles
-practice basket and trash cans
-fun water carry on hole 2
-down the street from Carver Park
Cons:
-limited parking on the highway
-a restroom or portojohn would be nice
-a little bit of a walk back to the road after hole 9, at least you get to walk past the pond
Other Thoughts:
DG@SW is a really fun course that can be played fairly quickly but doesn't feel like a dinky little 9 holer. The average hole length is over 330' but the layout makes a loop that is easy to follow and doesn't have long walks between holes.
The layout makes great use of the limited features. The corridor with a low ceiling on hole 1, the water carry on hole 2 (with room to bail out safe to the right), the trees that pepper the fairway on hole 4, and the heavily protected green on hole 8 all make for some really fun and challenging holes. There are a number of fairly open shots but the designers did the best they could. I can't imagine a better layout for this park.
The signs, baskets, and tees are great. The course is well maintained, well designed, and well executed. I'd play here a lot if I lived closer. It's great that it is right down the street from Carver Park, but honestly I'd rather just play 2 or 3 rounds here. Props to the course designers/dedicated locals on a great course!
