Pros:
Quick Play: The holes are fairly short, and closely-spaced together, so it doesn't take long to play a round here. We had a group of five and it took under two hours.
Mix of Holes: The front 9 is largely open, with some technical elements mixed in. The back 11 is largely technical, with one open hole to finish by the parking lot.
Ace Runs: They are possible here, even if the trees don't seem to allow any gaps. I actually got my first ever ace here on Old Hole 18 (new hole 19).
Shaded: Most of the course (but especially the back half) has adequate shade, which is really nice when dealing with the hot Florida sun. We played in the middle of the day and it wasn't bad.
Cart/Walking Friendly: It's flat and grassy/sandy. Carts are a breeze. Walking is a breeze. Just don't trip on roots and watch out for animals.
Wildlife: There are plenty of iguanas and birds in the park that don't affect play but did make for an experience I don't typically get in Tennessee.
Cons:
Wildlife: Even though I just mentioned the iguanas and birds in a positive light, I do want to mention the spiders in a negative light. THEY. ARE. HUGE. When walking around, be aware of where the spider webs are (typically above head-height, but still). I don't know if they are poisonous, but I also don't want to find out.
No Distance: There really isn't anything longer than 300' here. They don't really have much space for long holes. Some holes get down below 150' even.
No Elevation: It's Florida. If you want hills, you're in the wrong state.
Navigation: It is typically good, but it can be a little tricky at times, especially with the newly added holes (now 12 and 20). Some holes are pretty close to each other, so checking out the number on the basket is critical (15 and 19).
Baskets Near Fences: There are several cases where a basket is near a fence that has a "do not climb" sign on it (10, 13, 17, 18). Just be aware of the barriers before throwing something over the fence and having to retrieve it.
Water: I'm not a huge fan of water to begin with (I don't like losing discs), but when alligators are involved, I don't mess with it. We skipped a couple holes (1, 4, 5) to make sure the lake didn't come into play. It's probably not an issue for more advanced players, but we had some beginners and didn't want to risk losing a disc in the lake.
Other Thoughts:
I like this course. We vacation in Ft. Lauderdale almost every year so I get to play it every year or two. It's a fun little course. Some of the cons I listed are probably not an issue to anyone local, but I wanted to give an out-of-town perspective in case anyone else is looking to make a stop during vacation.
