Pros:
-Very clear and well-maintained fairways.
-Absolutely spectacular views throughout the entire course, especially through the back 8.
-Some really fun elevated tees (maybe 4-5)
-Cool additions to some holes. There's like this propellor thing attached to a tree on Hole 8 which is a fun obstacle. Another tee has a drop zone.
-The homemade baskets are AWESOME! If you think the sound of hitting chains is acoustically pleasing, the sound of hitting chains and a loud *THUNK* landing in the basket after is even better.
-I've met some weirdos coming to these privately owned courses over the years. That was not the case here. I did not meet Wes, but I met his father; very friendly man with a great dog (Rosy!)
-It's worth mentioning again, the views are amazing.
-Other people mention the isolation of this course as a con. I firmly believe it's a pro. I played on a Friday morning, and I hardly even heard another car drive by on the adjacent forest road.
-Saw a giant mule deer on the fairway for Hole 15 and a pack of wild turkeys around Hole 11.
Cons:
-Very easy to lose discs if your throw leaves the fairway.
-Bring lots of water. There was a pump on the property, but I don't believe it works.
-Hole 12 was a little frustrating despite being quite enticing. It's an elevated tee, and you can't see the fairway from the tee. The landscape creates a bit of wind tunnel behind you, which can realllllly carry your discs into some intense overgrown grass and shrubs. I would advise using a spotter or just skipping that hole.
Other Thoughts:
-It's cool that they offer camping on the course! It looked like they had outhouses and fire pits if you chose to do that.
-I thought the first two holes were the most challenging of the entire course. Don't get discouraged if you get the crap beaten out of you on those ones, the course gets a bit easier from there.
