Pros:
- Great practice for your short/approach game.
- Course is secluded enough, you don't run into too many non dgers on the course.
- Tests your accuracy with small fairways and tight turns at times.
- Holes 1, 9, 10, & 18 are all close to the parking lot.
- With UF ID, you can "rent" out basic discs at the shack near hole #1 for free.
Cons:
- TICKS. enough said, but seriously, when they are at their worst, one buddy came home with 10+ on him.
- You need someone with an UF ID to get onto the property (one ID per carload apparently).
- First time out, course layout can be confusing.
- Teepads are varied in length, but mostly too short in my opinion.
Other Thoughts:
- Hole 1 - you have to throw over the shack, where there are usually people, which makes it a worrisome first drive of the day.
- Hole 2 - the beginning of the confusion on where the basket is in relation to the teepad, but a short hooking shot to the left sets you up.
- I've gotten on the property before without an ID, just luck though with no one at the gate.
- Make sure you check the current times the course is open, sometimes they close it down for private practices for UF rowing teams and such.
- While the course is short for the most part, I don't think it's necessarily beginner friendly with the technical aspects of some of the holes. While you could bring someone new out for the shortness of it, they might be turned off by being in the woods often. While they might shoot a higher score at Northside Park a few miles away, I would start them there personally.
